Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

DS has just written his first ever letter to Santa, asking for a model of the whole of London - any brilliant and (bargainous!) ideas?? He's 5 and I don't want to shell out lots for Lego I'll step on and he'll lose a bit young for Lego. Plus he really just wants the train stations...ALL OF THEM. He must have listed about 30-40 stations in his letter! 🙈

browneyesblue · 28/11/2018 20:45

@thepurplegirl I can’t see them on the website, but I got both of my DSs some lovely, sparkly reversible sequin tshirts and jumpers from H&M. It might be worth checking in store if there is somewhere local.

browneyesblue · 28/11/2018 20:50

@thepurplegirl I’ve found a pic of one here: www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0666327001.html

ivegotalovelybunchofcoconuts look on the London Transport Museum site.

Not always bargainous but some lovely London/Station stuff

akmum18 · 28/11/2018 20:56

Ivegotalovelybunchofcoconuts you can buy 3D puzzles of London buildings my daughter has the ones with lights inside, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen cardboard cut outs you can build too.

Thank you so much for all the Ken and skipper suggestions. I’m watching an old ken doll with hair on eBay so hopefully will be able to get him. @honeydragon do you by any chance know which fashionista ken had the real hair? I looked at them online and they all looked plastic, but it could just be that the photographs arent very clear.
Went to b&m and they didn’t have the skipper with the pram (they had one with a high chair) but it’s good to know she is out there and not totally sold out everywhere so will keep my beady eyes peeled!
Thanks again Smile

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece I was just looking at the London sets at The transport museum - lovely, but way more than I'm hoping to spend since "Santa" usually brings each of the kids a fairly small present (can't have him getting the credit for all the best presents now, can we?)

HoneyDragon · 28/11/2018 21:11

One of the older ones. I had a look I can’t find it. It’s very much like the Barbie dream house ken doll that has hair. Dd has one ... an only be two, three years old tops.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 28/11/2018 21:14

@akmum18 I'll look into the puzzles, thanks. Think he's hoping for a giant model of all of London so this may not quite fit the bill! Santa is going to have to get creative!

Hallors90 · 28/11/2018 21:16

I’ve watched all of these threads, and purchased lots of bargains, but unfortunately not had anything to add... so now I feel super cheeky! But if anybody has some xmas bargains to share I would appreciate it.. I’m looking for ‘incentive prizes’ for my team at work, I have £50 to spend but would like to get as much for that as possible. I have already bought the amazon cheapies that were on a few threads ago, and a few chocolate brownie sets and face mat games etc from wilkos, but still need a few more, cheap as possible bits.. am I asking the impossible??

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/11/2018 21:17

orange might be a bit lame but how about reusable travel mug? I love mine and use it daily. Primark have a variety for around £2-4 maybe wrapped with a scratch card to potentially win enough for a takeaway coffee - who doesn't love a bit of gambling at Christmas!!!!

Or just buy a load of £5 scratch cards and put into cards quick and easily sorted 😂 always goes down v well for teacher gifts, they get loads of chocolates/wine this time of year!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/11/2018 21:22

ivegotalovelybunchofcoconuts how about a London Snow globe with all the sights in? I've seen one real life shopping but can't think where but there's loads online.

Or could you get postcards of different sights, laminate them and get those little clips so you could stand them up making a sort of playset. Maybe get a few model trains and little people to go with it, the lego shop you can make your own people, maybe make one that looks like your DS. Put into a London themed box sorted!!!!

LokiBear · 28/11/2018 21:28

I twitched! Bought a Nintendo classic retro console. It wasnt even on sale. Bloody Phillip Schofield!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/11/2018 21:29

hallors if you work with a geeky bunch how about the funko minis blind boxes? There's loads of different ones on toysforapound. Wwe, power rangers, suicide squad, Spider-Man, guardians of the galaxy, avengers, street fighter, xmen. They also had lots of star wars bits, game of thrones magnets. Plus flickin chickens. We had these last year and it was hysterical, they would stick to the ceiling and land on someone unexpectedly.

TheBaltictriangle · 28/11/2018 21:32

@Hallors90 how about mini versions of board games for a fiver?

mini Articulate

mini Logo

ThePurpleGirl · 28/11/2018 21:35

browneyesblue those tops are amazing, thank you! I'll definitely have a look for them.

bigarse1 · 28/11/2018 21:45

@Reggie24 and @Imsorryiasked. thanks

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 28/11/2018 21:49

Thanks @nocutsnobuttsnococonuts ! I think I might have to improvise and make some laminated signs like you suggest, then maybe bulk it out a bit with a cheap set of London landmarks in a bag... should do the trick! He's already got practically every train imaginable, so unless I find a cheap GWR/Southeastern/East Midlands train, I'll stick with homemade stations!

imsorryiasked · 28/11/2018 21:51

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts how about a pop up book of London? DS has this one which is great, the pop up bits are double sided so lots to look at.

trixymalixy · 28/11/2018 21:52
