Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Whoever was asking about an ice crusher, I bought this one because we used to have it when I worked in a bar. Does a good job of finely crushing the ice for cocktails.

Hi all, have been here for years but have changed usernames.

My 8 year old DS is abit of an oddball and has requested a nutcracking nutcracker! Has anyone seen anything bargainous? I'm pretty sure he just chucks these random idea's at me to keep Father Christmas on his toes!

I've found this one on Amazon so far but was looking for MUCH cheaper: www.amazon.co.uk/Seiffen-folk-art-Nutcracker-Husar/dp/B0041LA5BS/ref=sr_1_30?keywords=Seiffen&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1543345179&sr=8-30

newusernameforxmas · 27/11/2018 21:41

Here's a lovely little 59p Snowflake Brooch bargain for your MIL's! www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PTE1FFQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?th=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 27/11/2018 21:49

@Notlongnow1 I've no idea why we don't like IWOOT I ordered the Lego calendar on there through quidco so it cost me £9.99 and it arrived today.

Did anyone just watch Phillip Schofields How to Spend It Well At Christmas? I'm having a twitch. Those nerf alpha pro blasters look fab. I can see us all playing with them on Christmas Day but I would need 6 😫. Anyone seen a good deal anywhere?

OneoftheseBoxes · 27/11/2018 21:54

Moonbaby, this is a lovely version of The Night Before Christmas

I watched it, the nerfs look good.
Also tempted by the retro gaming but think dh would prefer Atari which is pretty cheap at Argos.

Nerf guns were £30 at Argos so I could well see me caving and picking them up on Christmas Eve!

MinorRSole · 27/11/2018 21:56

On a separate note there will be no slime or shitting toys under our tree!

SixToEightInchesOfSnow · 27/11/2018 21:56

@Lovemusic33 oh no! I’ve bought 2 rolls of carrot wrapping paper!

HalfBloodPrincess · 27/11/2018 22:00

Thanks for the wine suggestions. I went with Tesco (because there’s a metro 3 metres from my house) and spent less that £35! So got some chocs to go with them.

They had nutcracker-man nutcrackers in the txmaxx in Cwmbran on Thursday, they might have them on their online store

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 27/11/2018 22:03

@Asj0405
Thanks, got some Boss for my dad!

Purpletigers · 27/11/2018 22:05

New user - there’s a Lego nutcracker on the Lego site for £8.50 . We have him and as nutcrackers go he’s rather sweet. Not really he’s creepy as hell!

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 27/11/2018 22:07

Just thought I had DS's birthday and Christmas sorted and he has announced he wants Jurassic World toys! Suspect he may have to be disappointed because we have already got him lots of stuff, but on the off-chance, does anyone have any recommendations/know of any bargains please?

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 27/11/2018 22:07

@MinorRSole agreed. I shitting toys in this house either. That pooping unicorn is grotesque. I skipped forward on the slime, crayons, moon sand bit. I will never allow slime into the house. We had one of those melting snowmen for the kids two christmases ago and ds3 got it all stuck in his carpet. It took me forever to get it out.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 27/11/2018 22:08

Haha NO shitting toys

TheHammaconda · 27/11/2018 22:11

@newusernameforxmas

DD has the same request. We went to a Xmas market in the Lower Saxony liason office (we live in Brussels) and the nutcracker was 70€. Let me know if you find a cheap one!

AlexanderHamilton · 27/11/2018 22:23

There were a lot of problems a couple of years ago with IWOOT on the Xmas threads. Goods not received, orders cancelled, difficulty with refunds etc.

PunkAssMoFo · 27/11/2018 22:26

Last year iwoot took orders saying items were in stock when they weren’t. Things were taking up to two months to arrive, but they would not cancel orders or refund as apparently they had ‘allocated the stock” before it had even been dispatched to them.

I’m surprised they’re still in business and will personally not risk ordering with them again. Customer service is shocking.

MummaPI · 27/11/2018 22:26

beautician just ordered some from Amazon down to £29

Iggi999 · 27/11/2018 22:28
