Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thank you everyone for the rainforest and tropical room tips.

DD and I spotted this today. It´s 108 pounds but she thinks it is just the thing and sees no reason at all why I couldn´t buy it for her (I hide my bargain hunting well, clearly!).

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 30/10/2018 16:27

@BeaLola I'd love the Lakeland code if toy still have it!

AgnesBrownsCat · 30/10/2018 16:34

M and S leather gloves are fantastic for driving . I have them in about 4 different colours . They usually have offers in them in the weeks up to Christmas too .

pouraglasshalffull · 30/10/2018 16:51

If anyone would like a Glossybox referral code I have one

www.glossybox.co.uk/referrals.list?applyCode=AMBER-RF8

I bought my best friend a 3 months subscription for her birthday and she loves it

OhGhoulyFuck · 30/10/2018 17:32

Does anyone have any codes for house of Fraser at all?

Pinkyponkcustard · 30/10/2018 17:36

Can anyone recommend a nice pop up Christmas book for the Christmas Eve box? DS will be 3.

Also recommendations for a age suitable nativity book would be great also.

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 30/10/2018 17:40

Turtle Doves gloves arrived today - the lucky dip in exchange for a jumper I found in a charity shop. They are absolutely gorgeous. Soft and elegant. Would definitely get them as a gift (but am keeping these for myself)! 😀

Chrisinthemorning · 30/10/2018 17:53

Follow the Star by Andy Mansfield is beautiful

Jammiebammie · 30/10/2018 17:58

@makingmiracles do you have a link for the galt glow marble run on Debenhams please? I can’t seem to find it at all. Hoping it’s good for a 4 year old? I know there has been talk of marble runs before, so I’ll have a read back through the threads to see what’s best.

EightToSixer · 30/10/2018 18:01

My attempt to get neutral colours Lucky Dip turtledoves for MIL didn't work as they ignored my polite email request and sent bright red ones. Still, I'm sure MIL will like them at Christmas at least.

Thanks for GAP code. Got lots for DS and DH there.

Drummingisfun · 30/10/2018 18:23

The galt glow thing is the same price at John Lewis I think.

Jammiebammie · 30/10/2018 18:28

Thanks drumming just found it on John Lewis. Hmm I’m not sure after looking at. I don’t have a JL near me either, so I’ll keep looking.

fraggle84 · 30/10/2018 18:49

For driving gloves I use Tote gloves with grips like on the bottom of slipper socks

I get them in the men's section of sainsburys and they are the best!!

I'm disabled and drive an adapted car that uses the wheel to steer, accelerate and break so it's really important for me to have gloves with good grip

I buy 3 pairs just incase I lose one! They are about £8

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 30/10/2018 19:15

I need to buy a “Crackling candle” for under £15. Don’t all candles crackle?! Is this a thing?!

If this is, in fact, a thing. Does anyone know of the best brand?! TIA

Moltenpink · 30/10/2018 19:18

IHope, Woodwick are lovely, but fairly expensive. Boots usually have them in the 3 for 2 though.

mycatislickingherpaw · 30/10/2018 19:40

Thanks so much for the gloves suggestions!!

CarrotVan · 30/10/2018 20:00

@eighttosixer I got charcoal ones I think but my recipient likes bright red if you want to swap

DieDieFrickenDie · 30/10/2018 20:03

Home bargains has 2019 annuals for £2.99 (some were £1.99) saw Star Wars, Lego Star Wars, Shoot, Match, Minecraft, LOL, My Little Pony, Trolls, Disney Princesses and Peppa Pig.

Also don't know if anyone else's dc are mad for overpriced little collectibles like Grossery Gang or Superzings but Home Bargains also had lots of Zomblings blind bags for 29p each and little trick houses for 69p each.

Also they had lots of Christmas treats including giant gummy bears and lovely biscuit tins.

Good luck again with the MN Halloween name change poll Reastiepeace
It's looking like you could win but it's very close. Hope you get some more votes. Cmon people! Halloween Smile

NotPennysBoat · 30/10/2018 20:06

How do we vote for the lovely Reastie? Is it too naughty to post the link here?

rosablue · 30/10/2018 20:26

If anyone’s looking for nice cheap cosmetics to make up beautybox type presents or stocking fillers etc, Poundland has got some good stuff in at the moment...

My local one had Tigi, Revlon, L’Oréal, Maybelline, Burts Bees, Sally Hansen, Nails Inc and more as well as cheaper brands like Outdoor Girl and Collection (?) 2000.

They also had some nice clear plastic makeup holders for a pound each. I got some a couple of years ago to organise my shelf and they’ve been great and once they’re on the shelf you’d be hard pressed to see any difference between them and some of the much more expensive ones.

Last year they had cute Santa and other Christmassy design little nail stickers - didn’t stop to look if they have them this year but fun if they do.

For the Nectar collectors among us, make sure your password is strong! I had £150 worth of points redeemed from my account last Friday. Thankfully they have been reinstated in a new account but was an unpleasant shock given that I plan a big double-up spree.

imsorryiasked · 30/10/2018 21:02

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece I've had done woodwick ones on watch for ages and the price is not dropping. However tkmax had lots of different cracking ones in store. You need to look for the wooden wick which looks like a little piece of bamboo or lolly stick rather than string.

Carrie76 · 30/10/2018 21:08

I too would like to vote for reastie where do we vote?

Mrsfussypants1 · 30/10/2018 21:12

Our tk Maxx had a big display of woodwick candles in a bit cheaper thank what they retail for. I bought one of the large trilogy ones for £14.99 and loved it, I bought a large mint truffle, £19.99 as a present to myself from cats for Christmas. Think they were good price on amazon too. Didn't know boots sold them, I think I'm going to have to buy some as gifts on 3 for 2 now.
