Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

margaritasbythesea do you have a zoo/ wildlife park/ safari Park nearby? They normally have good quality and not excessively expensive giant snakes, lizards, etc. And sometimes decor stuff too.

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 30/10/2018 08:53

@margaritasbythesea H&M have some frog stuff including toy basket and cushion covers

gaggiagirl · 30/10/2018 09:08

Doubled up my nectar points this morning on line. I couldn't find a clear answer on the nectar site but could I spent my voucher on a mix of departments.. For example sherry and TU and toys or must the voucher spend be on one department only?

RaynaJaymes · 30/10/2018 09:19

gaggiagirl my understanding is that they can be spent across the 11 departments in the double up. Not as it was previously where we had to pick departments in advance

Alanamackree · 30/10/2018 09:37

reastie sorry to hear you’re under the weather. Hope you feel better soon.

Acunningruse · 30/10/2018 09:46

Called into WH Smith for a magazine this morning and braved my way past the sweets and stationary jumble sale area at the front...Glad I did as they had bargainous children's book sets. Got a hungry caterpillar book and toy for newborn DN (£7), 2 pack board books of The Highway Rat and Sticj Man for £6 and a puzzke book& farm play mat set for £7. All have approx £12.99 RRP on boxes so a good deal. They had gift packs if That's Not My... books for toddlers as well

imsorryiasked · 30/10/2018 10:01

Acunningruse tough beat me to it! Grin
Our whsmith also had some great DK hardback books for £6/7 eg star wars etc.

@Chrisinthemorning

I had narrowed it down to these Astronomical Reflector Telescope Zoom HD Outdoor Monocular Space with Tripod for Kids,Beginner - Ranipobo www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FX46PMY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ZKc2Bb32A1M19?tag=mumsnetforum-21
LifePlus F36050M Astronomical Telescope HD Outdoor Monocular Space Astronomical Telescope for Beginners 90 Degrees Telescopes for Kids Astronomy www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N6JQ2JK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TMc2BbENVWWY7?tag=mumsnetforum-21
But then saw that BnM were selling one for around £15 DH and I played with it in the shop and it seemed to work OK. I don't want to spend lots on one atm as I think it will get used more as a toy, if he gets into Astronomy as an art we'll upgrade as he gets older

DieDieFrickenDie · 30/10/2018 10:18

Sainsbury’s have some christmas things in today! Very lovely stuffed toys for a good price.

The card factory have LOTS of elf things - doors, stuffed toys, socks for 99p, build your own grotto, Christmas tree etc

B&m also have lovely Christmas things! Christmas Eve boxes for 3.99 which look good. I’ve brought one! Letters to Santa for £1 etc. Well worth a look.

hoopdeloop · 30/10/2018 11:27

Studio free delivery code 065

Catanddogmake6 · 30/10/2018 12:18

mamabluestar have you looked at star gazing binoculars? We bought this telescope for DD and whilst it works fine but by the time DH has found something then lost it as the thing has wobbled due to uneven ground DD would be distracted. Binoculars enable her to look much quicker. It also stopped my husband just going out and buying a much more expensive telescope that found things automatically.

Jammiebammie · 30/10/2018 12:27

Aw hope you’re feeling better soon Reastie.

Offers at Clarins, can’t work out the minimum spend though, think it might have to be £50 as that’s what the free delivery is set at? Someone correct me if I’m wrong. You’d still also be able to get your free samples.

Jfw82 · 30/10/2018 12:51

Just to add to the very helpful gap code provided already that on if you download and register on the gap+ loyalty app then you have a code for a further 5% discount when you shop and that codes stacks with the VIPGAP code and so a bit more discount (and it quite often stacks with other codes)

TalkingOrmer · 30/10/2018 13:32

Have a £5 off £30 spend at Lakeland if anyone wants it - has to be used by 14 Nov and can only be used once

mycatislickingherpaw · 30/10/2018 15:21

I’d like your input on something potentially silly. I’ve never driven in winter and I’d like to buymyself a pair of gloves as it’s getting cold! Do you use particular gloves? I’m worried my hands will slip on the wheel if I use normal ones?
Thank you!

Wait4nothing · 30/10/2018 15:26

I like lined leather gloves for driving - tend to be warmer too
