Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

If you are looking for a plastic marble run rather than wood (and I completely agree with Alana’s summary of their respective virtues) then I’d recommend the ELC one. We have a galt one and it’s fine but after playing with an ELC one at a friend' House we stashed the galt one away and got that instead. There are more interesting bits in the kit so the runs ‘do’ more - things like having wheels and delayed drop bits, iirc. You might be able to buy add-on kits for the galt but I didn’t find the same sort of things and the basic kit was very ‘plain’. They might have changed it though, this was a couple of years ago.

My DS has SN and wouldn’t have coped with the instability of a wooden one. He loved the ELC one though.

Another boozy advent calendar. While they ship from the Netherlands you do get your order in 48 hours!

Monkeymonstermum · 07/10/2018 14:35

Ok...so I’m thinking that instead of a Lego or Playmobil Advent calendar I’m going to stick to the (badly self decorated) hobby craft fill your own advent calendar but instead of all choc coins I’m going to put in some sort of ticket for Sundays in advent...and give a little something. The Lego creator train above was a great first idea, I thought about the Lego baubles as another shop.lego.com/en-GB/Christmas-Ornament-Reindeer-853574

Does anyone know if I’m likely to get the baubles at a better price, or have a free delivery code, or should I just get them before they sell out?

Also, any other ideas for another couple of sundays?

Thanks in advance all.

16 years ago I bought the elc marble run for ds1. It lasted 3 children and has only recently been retired to the attic (ready for any grand kids).

QOD · 07/10/2018 15:06

pmac62 · 07/10/2018 15:15

Unihorn · 07/10/2018 15:35

We found that the Costco marble run was a bit style over substance and definitely not suitable for children younger than about 4/5. It had far too many pieces and was not very practical or sturdy!

Pandasarecute · 07/10/2018 15:46

Do any Sainsbury's employees know when the 25% off clothes will be? I know it's usually at half term but wondering which half term?! Some begin Mon 22nd, others Mon 29th.

FireflyGirl · 07/10/2018 15:49

Pandas - Tu 25% off usually starts on a Tuesday. I'm sure I've seen 23rd somewhere...

JDSTER · 07/10/2018 15:58

I think TU 25% off startsTuesday 23rd

woodwaj · 07/10/2018 17:19

Gorgeous 60cm cuddle fox on gearbest for £8
www.gearbest.com/stuffed-cartoon-toys/pp_655299.html

I've just told my husband to add it to his order (along with a candy grabber, puzzle ball, and pokeballball toys}

TheOwlandMe · 07/10/2018 18:18

Woodwaj I was just about to post that Lego set after spotting in local tescos. We were all in shopping so made DH sneak back to you aisle and buy then hide in car whilst I had DC. It’s a real bargain as the wheels (mixed bricks with focus on extra wheels) was on shelves for £20 alone (and amazon had on offer for £17). Im happy with my Lego bargain today Grin

Drummingisfun · 07/10/2018 18:26

I've not caught up yet so apologies if already mentioned.
Flavourly have opened preorders for their beer advent calendar, but it's not cheap, £49.90. My OH has liked their beer cases but we've never had the advent.

imsorryiasked · 07/10/2018 18:32

Now I'm doubly fed up that my Tesco is so crap Angry

CheekyFucker · 07/10/2018 18:37

@imsorryiasked my Tesco is shit too. I live on a Scottish Island so we have fuck all choice anyway. I am so pissed off that Tesco Direct no longer exists.

SimplyPut · 07/10/2018 18:42

When does the Tesco toy sale end?

imsorryiasked · 07/10/2018 18:51

Actually there are done Lego offers available on the Tesco grocery site here altho not the fab one up thread.

Stripy29 · 07/10/2018 18:56

Simplyput i think it ends just before halloween.
Word of warning for people ordering toys on tesco grocery website, i ordered some stuff this week that was all in stock online before and after i paid and on the day they cancelled it saying they had no stock. I had to travel about then to find what i was after, which i did end up getting, but was not impressed Hmm

SimplyPut · 07/10/2018 19:18

Thanks Stripy. My local store is terrible but that gives me time to try the city.

woodwaj · 07/10/2018 20:14

Here is a better pic of it. I think I'm going to win some best auntie points this Xmas!

I saw that Lego triple set in Lea Valley Tesco in North London a few days ago.

SockEatingMonster · 07/10/2018 20:21

I don’t know if this is a good offer or not, but I was emailed some sort of Quidco £15 cashback offer on Lego Advent Calendars on IWOOT. I’ll try and attach a screenshot which will hopefully make more sense than I’m currently making...
