Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Whyisitsodifficult I got a good Xbox one bundle from smyths last year I'd say end October / early November. I was ready to take it back if the Black Friday offers were better but they weren't!

Maccycheesefries · 06/10/2018 22:01

Not bargainous but Italian brand ,Castelli, does absolutely beautiful stationary.
www.castelliitaly.com/

Worth a look for that hard to buy for person.

Whyisitsodifficult · 06/10/2018 22:05

@Daisychops can you remember what was in the bundle and what you paid?

DaisyChops · 06/10/2018 22:22

It was the Xbox one 500GB bundle with Forza and hot wheels plus an extra controller and an additional game that you could choose for £220. It was good at the time as it included the exact games we wanted. Think they are all 1TB now so more expensive.

imsorryiasked · 06/10/2018 22:28

Some good reductions at great little treading company

torthecatlady · 06/10/2018 22:30

@MamaRaisingBoys I'm sorry, I'm not sure if they'll fit duplo. Maybe take a block in with you and try it out?

Whyisitsodifficult · 06/10/2018 22:41

@Daisychops that sounds good I shall be watching Smyths! Thanks.

Notlongnow1 · 06/10/2018 22:49

If you have a Matilda in your life - or just a Roald Dahl fan! - the 30th anniversary books are on sale with new Quentin Blake illustrations imagining where she would be now - bizarrely the 3 editions are all different prices on Amazon (£6.49 to £9.35) with the World Traveller edition the cheapest 👍🏻

Isadora2007 · 07/10/2018 01:15

I got this Xbox bundle on the prime day for £199 so I reckon Black Friday will have a similar offer.

I’m looking for a marble run. Do Aldi or lidl do them with their wooden toys does anyone know?

gaggiagirl · 07/10/2018 08:27

I'm getting my DC these cute teaspoons as stocking fillers. I've already got the skull teaspoons and they are excellent quality. The DC love taking them with their packed lunch for school.

oneofthose · 07/10/2018 08:30

@Redrosebelle I'm looking for a wooden marble run too for my 1yr old. I will let you know if I find a good one.

imsorryiasked · 07/10/2018 08:57

Those of you looking for marble runs - the wooden ones are really difficult to get a decent connection on. Much better to get a plastic one.
Also I can recommend these mega ball runs for younger kids as you don't have to live in fear of them eating the marbles.

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker · 07/10/2018 09:22

gaggiagirl I ordered these yesterday cat head teaspoon 94p free delivery amazon. Maybe if use to you. Place 1 per order for free delivery 😁

oneofthose · 07/10/2018 09:39

@imsorryiasked thank you! That ball size is perfect 👍🏻 I was struggling to find ones that wouldn't be a chocking hazard!

BikeRunSki · 07/10/2018 10:10

Wooden marble runs are a PITA because they don’t slot together, so they knock over easily and you can’t move them. Plastic ones are much better.

PathOfLeastResitance · 07/10/2018 10:14

15% off of Melissa and Doug at www.mulberrybush.co.uk with code MD18. Ends on Friday 12th October. Some other nice toys reduced too.

Alanamackree · 07/10/2018 10:45

Can’t remember whether I got a marble run in Lidl or Aldi but one of them definitely do them.
I’m a fan of the wooden ones but also agree that they aren’t as easy to manage as the plastic ones that slot together. They take more coordination and patience but I think they’re great for encouraging fine motor skills and planning. They’re good for open ended play because you can put them together in all sorts of ways and experiment with different slopes (ds spent ages trying to encourage the marble to go uphill). They are definitely more of a sit-down-and-play-with-the-child kind of toy than the plastic ones which are easier to manage. So it really comes down to what you want.

Redrosebelle · 07/10/2018 10:49

In that case can anyone recommend a plastic marble run?

rosablue · 07/10/2018 11:10

To everyone looking for a marble run, Costco usually have a fantastic marble run each year, there was one year that it wasn’t as good as usual, but most years it looks fab. They’re big however and probably not suitable for little kids, but worth checking out if you get a chance.

I haven’t been into Costco recently though to see if they have one this year but worth checking out...

ismellsnow · 07/10/2018 11:22

O2 priority are offering customers a First Wonder kids activity box for £1. Could be a good stocking filler or for a Christmas Eve box. Just remember to cancel the subscription, it's £7.99 a fortnight
