Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@changingagain I will have a look at the playmobil. Not happy to pay out if it’s going to be bits of rubbish!

CaveMum · 26/09/2018 20:39

@changingagain with nursery presents personally I always give books. I buy a few bulk packs from The Book People along with some sticker books and give them out as needed. It means spending around £20 will usually cover at least 5 parties.

My opinion, but I hate my kids playing with Playdoh, it just gets everywhere! I try to work on the philosophy of “what would I like my kids to get” as I’m also not a fan of the mountains of plastic tat you often end up with!

I’ve been waiting for Argos 3 for 2 to get 2 LOL under wraps presents for nieces, just got round to ordering them and they’re out of stock absolutely everywhere and also out of stock for delivery! Does anyone know of anywhere else I could potentially get them cheap or are they already an elusive must have toy?!?

margaritasbythesea · 26/09/2018 21:35

HAve you has a look at how much they are on Amazon Bellatrix? They often drop their prices during the 342.

I have had CCC alerts for lowest or very low prices on the LEgo Carnatosaurus set, Ninjago Green Dragon and MArvel Super HEroes Royal Talon. Sorry not to do links. About to go to bed - Laryngitis!

Bellatrix257 · 26/09/2018 22:19

@margaritas thanks yes I checked and unfortunately more expensive on amazon (3rd party seller as oos with official amazon)

Also just came across this when I was searching amazon gift cards.. if you buy this £100 gift voucher you get the gift box and a pair of happy socks free! Quite a good deal I think- last two years I’ve bought the £100 voucher with the teddy and I’ve just spent £100 myself on other presents on amazon, so if you didn’t want to give someone the whole £100 you could keep that yourself and buy another say £30 amazon voucher to put in the box with the socks and then you’ve got quite a good little gift! :)

Bellatrix257 · 26/09/2018 22:20

£100 amazon voucher plus free happy socks gift box clearer link!

DaisyChops · 26/09/2018 23:12

Smooshy mushy babies £12.35 on amazon, £16.99 everywhere else.

Gutted as I got the LOL biggie in smyths today and it's cheaper on amazon now!

Also, beware at smyths, I wasn't getting the right amount of discount (I had been tracking) and turns out head phones were not included so I had to literally run and get something else! I don't think the lady behind me was impressed when I got my phone out and started adding up my shopping from the till 😂

SpecialK24 · 26/09/2018 23:20

@imsorryiasked thank you think it was me, my son loves fireman (probably more than me) lol 😂 we have a princess and superhero party so might get him a fireman outfit and let him go as that. Looking for kids makeup sets birthday gift for a 5 year old (Her mum suggested it) x

XiCi · 27/09/2018 05:46

Bellatrix they had lots of LOL underwraps at Smyths yesterday, currently spend £50 for £10 off. Picked up a couple of the Sloths in there as well. They are such a bargain at £5.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 27/09/2018 07:14

Argos 3 for 2 means I got HP Quidditch Lego for free, whoop!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 27/09/2018 07:16

Toot toot great for under 2 but once they realise a tiny bit plastic or a folded piece cardboard to be a book is rubbish don't bother my little one was 3 last yr and had train one think I paid £20 was v disappointed with it. The main item is on day one progressing to shittier items each day 😀

CheekyFucker · 27/09/2018 07:50

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker What email address did you use for Amazon? I'll contact them too as I spend a fortune on there and the least they could do is give me £5. Grin Thanks.

SockEatingMonster · 27/09/2018 08:07

Can anyone recommend a diabolo starter set for a 10 year old?

I don’t want to spend too much as, although he’s quite keen on the idea, I suspect he’ll tire of it once he’s mastered the easy tricks. However, I don’t want to get him a cheapie ‘toy’ set either, as I suspect it’ll be harder to learn.

Drummingisfun · 27/09/2018 08:12

Apparently Birchbox are doing 3 boxes for the price of one if you use code "intro" when signing up. Obviously you need to cancel after or they'll keep sending monthly.

I've not tried this so can't verify that it works but thought it might be useful for people with girls, could use contents as stocking fillers and sounds like you'd get a fair bit.
