Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Trying to get a trex fingerling they are in the 3 for 2 at Argos but they won't deliver and no shops near have any stock. Does anyone have a code or offers for the entertainer or smyths so I could get it any where near the Argos deal. Thanks

friskybivalves · 26/09/2018 17:13

Can anyone still get the Amazon fairy lights code to work? THey look so temptInf but it says tHe code has expired Shock

Drummingisfun · 26/09/2018 17:15

biddlyboo I didn't think of command hooks, that's the perfect answer. I have two sets of patio doors in the same room, I'm going to have to order a set for each door I think or it will look odd.

Drummingisfun · 26/09/2018 17:19

Oh, but I've just measured my doors. Where I'd have to hang the lights is 6.5ft from floor. Lights are 8ft drop. They are going to
Look silly trailing all over the floor arent they?

whereisthatpenguinfrom · 26/09/2018 17:22

Unless there is a way to fold/double the lights up (4ft) drummming?

I bought on impulse and figured I'll cross that bridge when they arrive Blush

clairec87 · 26/09/2018 17:23

Baby annabell is only £36.33 on Amazon just now! Just snapped one up for my little girl who turns 2 soon!x

NoWordForFluffy · 26/09/2018 17:41

I got the Batman Lego Space Shuttle for £49.00 from Debenhams outlet on eBay which is a cracking price. Amazon has it at the same price, but I wanted Nectar points!

tentative3 · 26/09/2018 17:42

@margaritasbythesea thanks for the suggestions, I got the scented gel pens and an alphabet key ring thing from smiggle.

Went to M&S looking for reduced booze. Does anyone know if I can use cherry brandy or orange brandy liqueur in christmas cake?

BearBuilder · 26/09/2018 17:55

I use cherry brandy in my Christmas cake and it's bloody amazing if I say so myself Wink

AlbusPercival · 26/09/2018 18:02

Thanks for Spode code, some much needed new plates on their way to me :)

LokiBear · 26/09/2018 18:05

Did quite well from argos earlier. Got both dd's 3 sizeable presents each for £75. Dd2 (who will be almost 2) got a talking Bing, talking Upsy Daisy and a electronic draw and learn thing. Dd1 (7) got a potters wheel, hair bead and braider and cluedo. The hair bead and braider was £35 on amazon. I spent the morning checking smyths and amazon before I bought to ensure I got the best deal. Feel like a proper bargain hunter today!

tentative3 · 26/09/2018 18:15

Thanks BearBuilder I dont think I've ever had cherry brandy, I'm just seduced by the idea of a bargain!

PlayingForKittens · 26/09/2018 18:26

I lost my post!

I now have main presents for the small boy and the girl (Lego cargo train and a kano computer) but stuck for biggest boy. He will be 12, what do you buy a 12 year old? Up to around the £100 mark.

Then I will be thinking about family and hanging fire on the kids until they have written their letters to father Christmas. Well, biggest boy won't do one so I can collect stocking fillers for him.

Pondering1 · 26/09/2018 18:46

If anyone is into the woodwick crackling fire candles (at 20 odd quid) these ones in the range and Home bargains are only £5.99 - glass and wooden lids and seem good quality, smell lovely.

margaritasbythesea · 26/09/2018 18:48

Glad to be of help tentative. I honestly think those pens will make Christmas for dd as I'm usually SO MEAN about stuff like that.

Reastie - yes I heard they're completely banned in some countries. So far I have put my fingers in my ears and sung, 'lalalaCEmark' loudly. I'm probably wrong to do so.

nickdrakeslovechild · 26/09/2018 19:11

Noooooo I need new window lights and the code isnt working now.

BrieAndChilli · 26/09/2018 19:15

Ive just been to Argos and got DS2 3 big sets of jurrassic world Lego and the Star Wars lego advent calendar, my nephew 2 sets of ninjago Lego, my niece a designa friend doll and a wardrobe with 4 outfits, and DD a designa friend gymnastics bar. Should have been £300 and I paid just over £200 so happy with all that.

Dolphintrainer · 26/09/2018 19:40

@playing for kittens how about a Dot, Spotify subscription and headphones. If he’s not that into music right now then it’s highly likely he will be very soon

LikeSilver · 26/09/2018 19:43

Thank you for the LOL doll offers. I have also succumbed even though they are overpriced rubbish. DD will be thrilled Grin

Also got two Imaginext sets DS has wanted for months in the Smyths £20 off £100 tonight so will have two happy children.

Did I read somewhere that Tesco are doing 20% off Clothing this week? I will go for Halloween costumes if so.

LittleRedYoshi · 26/09/2018 19:56

I'm after an echo dot too for my dd. When I follow the link it's the 2nd gen for £39.99.

Does anyone know what a the best price these have been at?

Pretty sure I saw them at £35 a few weeks back.

Rockhopper81 · 26/09/2018 19:56

Tesco 20% of clothing starts tomorrow.

Rockhopper81 · 26/09/2018 19:57

*off clothing, not of clothing - 20% of a pair of pyjamas would just be weird...

LittleRedYoshi · 26/09/2018 20:00

Amazon have another Baby Wishlist freebie - a Johnson's baby bathtime gift set. As well as the standard bath time products, it comes with a washbag, novelty sponge and bath book. Details:

PlayingForKittens · 26/09/2018 20:20

@dolphintrainer he got a Sonos speaker last year linked up to the rest of the house system so he has full access to Spotify and the contents of the nas drive etc through that.

He isn't into much really. Rugby. That's about it. Such an awkward age. I think I might go for an experience type thing and get him a flying lesson or something.

Tildero · 26/09/2018 20:29

@vroc81 thanks for the advice. Just starting out with some toot toot. We got the amusement park for 35 quid in Costco. I’m just not sure what goes with what will do some reasearch!
