Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Jammie is your DD into lego at all? There are some amazing sets aimed at older teens/adults. Even if she's not really into lego there might be a set that fits with am interest of hers

Unihorn · 24/09/2018 09:34

Jammie board games or something like Bop It maybe? m.uk.ign.com/articles/the-best-solo-board-games. Is she into video games?

WellTidy · 24/09/2018 09:43

Thank you for the £1 suggestions. I have bought a few things on the replacement dotcomgiftshop website.

Jennywallpaper · 24/09/2018 10:11

Can anyone help with aliexpress, I was looking at the baseplates for Lego and wondering if there's any certain ones I should order? Are they all compatible? Also does Duplo fit on Lego baseplates or does it need a different one? Thanks!!

fraggle84 · 24/09/2018 10:37

Been to sainsburys and got the Disney princess dolls down to £9

Also lots of my little pony stationary for 90p

OhHolyFuck · 24/09/2018 10:43

Hey duggee pjs for less than a fiver on amazon

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 24/09/2018 10:54

@givealittlebit the gingerbread rum from m&s says drink within 12 months of purchase. I didn't get any of the liqueurs.
To the people asking about the beer soap, I had noticed at the time that it was an American company so I don't reckon any of us will get those freebies. They won't be posting them over here for nothing will they.

prominent5 · 24/09/2018 11:34

I have a voucher for £10 off a £40 spent + free delivery if anyone can use it before 7th October.
It's EBILED-X84WU5

Pressed send too early for Emma Bridgewater

Jammiebammie · 24/09/2018 12:03

Thanks @passwordrejection she’s sadly not really a Lego fan! The only set I think she would have actually liked is the Big Bang theory one and it’s quite expensive. (I on the other hand love Lego Grin)

Thanks also @Unihorn I’ll have a look at some solo games and see if any of those fit the bill! We do have quite a lot but I may be able to find something.

(My dd2 would absolutely adore mage Knight, Is it like d&d do you think?)

ShoppingBasket · 24/09/2018 12:09

Has anyone bought from gearbest? 😁 They look tempting

DanceDanceDance80 · 24/09/2018 12:10

Zoomer show pony is down to 29.99 on Amazon if anyone is interested.....

Dolphintrainer · 24/09/2018 12:12

@jellywallpaper Duplo does not fit on Lego baseplates, and vice versa. The duplo baseplates have much larger dots.

winewolfhowls · 24/09/2018 12:19

Bilbio thing not played with here either despite my high hopes.

BuffyFairy · 24/09/2018 12:38

I fell off thread 4 and can't believe I missed the Hatchimals advent calendar again!

Holding out for the Smyths offer, hope it starts tomorrow. I'm cutting it very fine for a weekend birthday but they did despatch my our generation 3 for 2 outfits order less than an hour after ordering. The 3 for 2 ends today.

Not particularly bargainous but Cath Kidston have some codes off their new collection - 15% off £35 spend with WINNER15 and 20% off £45 spend with WINNER20. T&C say offer was for 10-23 Sept but they only sent the email today and the codes seem to work.

BuffyFairy · 24/09/2018 12:39

Bilibo is a hit here, especially with my nearly 7 year old although she has some sensory needs and loves spinning.

Thanks to the poster re the Sylvanian halloween set. great discount!

SilkieAndMoonface · 24/09/2018 12:59

Jammie The Works does small wooden puzzles, cube shaped or similar, that you have to take apart and put together - harder than it sounds. They've had some with a metal ring too where you have to put together the puzzle on the other side of the ring or something. We have bought them for my SIL (adult) before as she'll never back down from a challenge and it kept her occupied for AGES on the day Grin. Might suit your DD? Like this.

flooredbored · 24/09/2018 13:04

Duplo does fit on lego baseplates but it is a bit fiddlier.

SilkieAndMoonface · 24/09/2018 13:09

Can anyone help with two things?

My Mom and sister would like to know the website that sells the craft blanks, but I didn't note it at the time and now can't find it scrolling back, can someone remind me please?

Does anyone know somewhere cheap to get furoshiki cloths for wrapping presents, preferably Christmas themed? I'd like to reduce how much wrapping paper we use so thought of wrapping some in cloth furoshiki style, but ebay has the Christmas style cloths going for quite a bit each.

In exchange, does everyone know about the MSE Amazon discount tool?
Very useful.

PurpleTigerLove · 24/09/2018 13:28

Craft blanks is Makersshed . I asked the same thing last week .

Jammiebammie · 24/09/2018 13:32

Thanks @Silkieandmoonface that looks like a great idea, cheap enough to put in her stocking and hopefully keep her occupied too - thanks!

The blanks website is makers shed I believe.

I sometimes do furoshiki with scarfs from primark! Someone linked to really cheap scarfs on amazon above that could work, although not Xmas themed. I also use fat quarters, although you need to be a bit more inventive with the folding.
Hobbycraft do fat quarters in really nice Christmas prints and they’re £7 for a pack of 5 or 2 packs for £12 here

wornoutboots · 24/09/2018 13:49

ShoppingBasket gearbest are brilliant

DaisyChops · 24/09/2018 13:52

Lego Star Wars 40% off on amazon deal of the day, also an Xbox offer that looks like a good deal

CarrotVan · 24/09/2018 13:53

You could just look for scarves in Christmas colours for furoshiki. I’ve used tea towels before

Snooky17 · 24/09/2018 13:57

According to Facebook Smyths has been confirmed from tues 24 sept till Sunday 30th £10 off for every £50 spent excludes games and consoles institute only
