Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Does anyone know if Smyths will have a discount day sometime in September? I seem to remember they did last year. I'm in the market for Our Generation goodies this year but it is so expensive so looking for some way of making it cheaper. Looks like Smyths have the best prices anyway but £65 for a doll wardrobe Shock £50 for a doll bed Shock I'm definitely going to be buying a Rainbocorn asap as I think this will be a big hit this Christmas, it's all my DD and her friends have been going on about all summer. Thanks YouTube Grin

Another thank you for the towels, just got a couple of bundles.

I am gutted I missed the magpie science beaker storage glasses. Just wondering if I should get the letter board, has anyone gone for it?

I seem to remember from last year that apparently Smyths are pretty cloak and dagger about the discount days. So I don't think we'll find out too much ahead, though some Mnetters definitely heard some rumours in store maybe a week or so ahead?

HoratioCaine · 22/08/2018 11:04

Thanks ItsNice guess I'm just going to have to hold my nerve and swoop when the deals come out.

I ordered these for my DDs a few weeks ago and they've just arrived, I'm really pleased with them and DDs will love them! 7 pairs of clip on earrings for less than £4 - these will be going in our advent calendar drawers (I'm always on the lookout for non-sugary things that are tiny enough!)

I should add that the earrings I linked to above are probably best for kids under 10 - definitely on the cheap & tacky side but my 6 and 4yo will definitely love them.

MrsCrimbo74 · 22/08/2018 12:22

Lego Friends advent calendar £14.99 with free postage from A1 toys, they also have some good bits in their sale items.

Stretch Armstrong large original size lowest ever price amazon £10.97

JurassicGirl · 22/08/2018 12:36

Horatio designafriends clothes fit OG dolls, my dd has a few of each & they swap clothes all the time.

Argos has some outfits & accessories in their clearance from £1.99. I've bought a few sets for DD :)

WhirlwindHugs · 22/08/2018 13:08

More than a quid stuff from pound land - Disney Princess pj's (also saw paw patrol) £3 and mini lego sets £2 each

They had the series 11 playmobile people too, but only pink bags at this store if you have a kid that will mind...

Home bargains had chocolate oranges for £1

Smellybears · 22/08/2018 13:10

Check the expiry date on the chocolate oranges, I picked some up the other day but put them back as they expired in October

Alanamackree · 22/08/2018 13:30

Not exactly chrissmassy but Home Bargains have 3m rolls of Starwars giftwrap for £1. In our house Santa uses different paper for each child as if he hasn’t enough to do without sourcing hobby- specific wrapping paper and this will do nicely.

HoratioCaine · 22/08/2018 14:32

Jurassic thanks, that's a great tip, I'll have a look at Argos now

Bargain chocolate and a good reason to scoff it all quickly! This really is the thread that keeps on giving!

Jammiebammie · 22/08/2018 15:30

On top of the deals at Argos just now, they’re doing the vouchers again £5 when you spend £50 and £10 when you spend £100.
Also noticed some really cheap dog beds but unfortunately none in stock local to me.

I’m having a complete mind blank for my dd (10 just after Xmas) she had asd and does like some younger toys but I’m stumped 🤔 the older 2 I could think of gifts for, all day!

imsorryiasked · 22/08/2018 16:25

@HoratioCaine Reindeerpoop linked to this our generation sale earlier in the thread.

donkeysandzebras · 22/08/2018 16:26

Thanks for the recommendation of the LimboHop. The DC will love it and it will be good for a couple of presents too. First bargain off this year's thread! The DC were playing with the Playmobil school earlier. Was that 4 years ago? Or 5 perhaps?

Stripy29 · 22/08/2018 16:38

@springsummerautumnwinter i bought the notice board from magpie and its due for delivery tomorrow so will let you know what its like Smile

Lacypants · 22/08/2018 16:40

The Shopkins lil secrets look better than the new Polly pockets IMO, just got one for DDs birthday

HoneyDragon · 22/08/2018 16:47

Just thought I’d pop into say that Amazon have their bank holiday sale on this weekend. I did hits well last year for odd little stocking fillers and nothing I had purchased came up cheaper on Black Friday.

ZIGGY911 · 22/08/2018 16:55

Chocolate oranges are £1 in Poundland with use by date of March 2019
