Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Curious2468 what sort of personalised items do you sell and could you pm me with your FB name? That's one thing the baby name board doesn't warn you about - the premium on presents when you choose a younique name not even a unique or bizzare name just not a top 50

justtowarm · 20/08/2018 07:38

@Someaddedsugar if you like the hey Duggee Facebook page they post links to merchandise. A while back there was a plastic figure set of Duggee and the squirrels, think it was on amazon and earlier this year they posted about soft toy Duggee's (my brother got one for his son and it was nice quality)

TodayCrosbyToday · 20/08/2018 07:40

@chocolatepud I made two Gap orders but only the 2nd one showed online. I spoke to Gap via their online messaging and they could see both orders at their end. Coincidentally, or not, both were then despatched within about 6 hours of my query and arrived about 12 hours after despatch!

justtowarm · 20/08/2018 07:44

@Someaddedsugar

Im hoping this is the link to a Duggee website that links you to where you can buy things :)

SheStoodInTheStorm · 20/08/2018 07:46

Thanks @newsparklythings found one on eBay and bought that. Probably not a bargain (although £35 wasn't too bad really when some are going for more) and has a couple of bits missing!

I hope she likes it!

isabella2 · 20/08/2018 08:05

@SheStoodInTheStorm when I buy second hand playmobil I look to see what bits I'm missing and get what I can from the spare parts store. Not everything is available but a lot is, even for old sets. https://www.playmobil.co.uk/content/sparepartsinfo/SPAREPARTSS_INFO.html

But not very busy there yet...

Any tips for buying Harry Potter Lego? Guessing it won’t drop in price but are there any sales to look out for? I’ll need it by November as it’s a bday present

chickacharlie · 20/08/2018 08:37

For nieces and nephews this year I've bought each of them this book in the Waterstones sale for £3.25 (rrp 12.99) and these pens from Tesco half price for £10 to share between the three of them. I hope they'll like them 😬

chick I bought the places to draw book for my sister Smile

Jammiebammie · 20/08/2018 09:05

@wait4nothing I’m getting Hp Lego too - so excited! Which ones are you after?

The sets were in both amazons and argos’ 3for2, so I can only imagine they will be included in the next ones. There’s marginal savings just now but I think it’s worth holding out on. Smyths also have the sets in and they do a 20% off everything event - Im keeping my fingers crossed for that, I’ve bought big Lego there before.

The big castle hasn’t been released officially yet so is only available from the Lego shop, I’m unsure if it’ll be available in any sales from other retailers but I’m doubting it - I think the best ways for the big set is either a cashback site, or 10% off if you know someone with a merlin pass. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled and will let you know too!

Dolphintrainer · 20/08/2018 09:27

Thanks for the Temptation Gifts website link earlier in the thread. I have placed a sizeable order as I found quite a few items for difficult to buy for people and a friend’s boy who’s turning 9 in 2 weeks. Worth a look through - still has a minimum 20% off and 50% off some.

Givealittlebit · 20/08/2018 09:30

This is wrapping related rather than gift related but still Christmas themed 🎄
Last year I got a big roll of brown parcel paper for my wrapping, going to get the same again this year and my sister picked me these up in Poundland yesterday. I think they'll look really lovely with brown paper. Much easier than the ribbons etc I used last year

Wait4nothing · 20/08/2018 09:58

Thanks @jammiebammie
I only need one set and am unlikely to need 3 kids things - dd might need 1 other thing but don’t buy for many kids! And try to keep our toy buying to a minimum due to lots of family buying toys! So I think smiths toy sale would be best if it’s available.
I’m after either quidditch or fantastic beasts set for dnephew (hes getting the big one from his dad and step mum - lucky boy)
Thanks for the help - I’ll give you w heads up if I see anything too!

EverybodyKeepCool · 20/08/2018 10:15

Not strictly bargainous but Matalan now have their Christmas stuff available online including throws, decorations, bedding etc

insertimaginativeusername · 20/08/2018 10:25

@Notasyoungasiwas I have the gruffalo too trumps and they are real 👍🏻

@SheStoodInTheStorm sorry might be too late for you but we have the playmobil 123 zoo & aquarium which is good as it's a carry case which forms the bases. I bought it last year when it was under £15.

SockEatingMonster · 20/08/2018 10:57

Thank you for the FB bath bomb link, just what I needed!

Does anyone have any experience of Wubble Bubbles? Both DS and DD have become interested in them after watching videos of them on YouTube, however the reviews are terrible.

The Works has them for £10 (with pump) which is a good price, but I can’t decide whether to risk the bloody things bursting on Christmas Day. I’m wondering whether I’d be better just getting them (generic) mini wubbles for their stockings instead. The mini ones inflate up to 20cm and can be picked up on eBay for under a pound (search “Wubble” then sort results low to high).

Does anyone have any Wubble experiences that can help me make up my mind?

YourHandInMyHand · 20/08/2018 11:00

Thanks for sharing the ToysForAPound website. I was a little sceptical but came away with several good stocking fillers for DS and nephews. Angry Birds blind bags, Mario blind bags, Minions mineez blind bags, Gruffalo and minions top trumps, schliech DC figures, Dr Who sound gadget, a hexbug, metal handcuffs for DN who's decided he wants to be a police man) etc all £1 each. Also a Lego Movie cushion for £2.

I got all sorts of bits and bobs and even with postage it came to well under £20.

MrsCrimbo74 · 20/08/2018 11:01

I thought this was quite cute, it's a unicorn that has babies inside it's tummy. £22.49 was £29.99

YourHandInMyHand · 20/08/2018 11:13

A bit random but has anyone bought a wooden limbo game and been happy with the quality of it? I've been looking at some but the reviews aren't great, saying they're flimsy. I don't want to spend a fortune on one but equally don't want a disappointing present!

woodwaj · 20/08/2018 11:20

My mystery bath bomb box has just arrived so here are some pics as promised (it smells like refreshers!) It was £15.80 inc postage I got 5 bath bombs a big pack of bath sprinkles an under eye mask and blackhead strip! The glasses case is on top of the box for size

MsMiaWallace · 20/08/2018 11:21

I noticed on Smyths & Argos online they have a Nintendo 2ds with game for £79.99.
I think that's pretty good! Deffo considering for DS.
