So we're nearly there now, I'm counting down on one hand the number of sleeps!

Still time to post info on Christmas bargains but I'd also love to hear how the gifts you got went down on the big day and also share notes on sale finds

HAPPY CHRISTMAS,!!!

Ah tumpymummy I'm in France! Got them on www.cdiscount.com in case you can't find them anywhere!

cookiefiend · 22/12/2017 18:41

Sigh. Having been super organised with everyone else we ordered some dolls for The children on Sunday night- meant to arrive on time etc. They haven't. I know they may turn up tomorrow, but desperately trying to think of alternatives now. Amazon don't have them available on prime delivery so no back up plan!

I'm sure it will work out. Is there a stash shot thread? I couldn't find it. Ours is never impressive for the children but I love looking at others trees all full. I love that woman whose tree you can't see under all the presents. On the one hand I would never do it because I'd be horrified by that number of things entering the house, but in the other it does make me smile!

Merry Christmas everyone- I hope you get all the wonderful reactions you are hoping for from your recipients. This is my favourite thread of the year and I'm always a bit sad when it ends!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 22/12/2017 18:47

Stash shot thread? I love that idea. Is there one already?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 22/12/2017 19:01

Have avoided the last few threads for the sake of my bank balance!

AtSea1979 · 22/12/2017 19:23

Unicorn fingerlings are now in stock at the entertainer but it's currently £4.99 for Xmas postage. I refuse to pay such inflated prices.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 22/12/2017 19:30

That's not a bad price for next day delivery though. And if people can't get to a shop then at least they have the option to get it somehow.

totallyLosingIt · 22/12/2017 20:52

Thanks @margaritasbythesea , little Threaderick is thriving! And may currently be wearing one of many Christmas outfits Grin

Wrapped. Done. Dusted. Bloody hell. Grin

margaritasbythesea · 22/12/2017 20:58

Happy Christmas everyone!

AtSea1979 · 22/12/2017 21:51

Wrapping all done at my parents. Will go on Xmas eve to collect. Then leave them in my locked downstairs loo since "the toilets blocked so we can't use it" not only does santa leave gifts but can you believe it, he actually fixed our loo

SomethingOfTheNight · 22/12/2017 22:30

Xmas GrinAtSea

Admiralclingus · 23/12/2017 00:49

We've started to loose sight of our tree!!!! This is without dds hoard of presents from the loft! Fortunately most will be dispatched to their recipients over the weekend and we might get some floor back 😂

HoneyDragon · 23/12/2017 00:55

I’ve finished wrapping. Hurrah.

HoneyDragon · 23/12/2017 00:56

Just need a Fuck Immspending the next four days cooking and cleaning thread now Xmas Sad

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 23/12/2017 06:34

Admiral that's a lovely tree and stash.

Atsea that's so funny! I need to make space at the top of the cupboard under the stairs (too high for dd to see) and get all the FC presents out of the loft and hidden up there ready today.

Honeydragon I'll join your two days of cooking and cleaning! Today is making the gingerbread house, wish me luck!

HoneyDragon · 23/12/2017 07:22

I’m spared the gingerbread house as no one ever eats it. I wish you well with that endeavour. Especially if it’s a joint creation (ie you twitch after doing the hard part whilst small folk annihilate it Wink)

Cupoteap · 23/12/2017 07:33

Youok - your defensive would get you off, can Santa take away the stuff he's bought when he drops of the new presents!

RJnomore1 · 23/12/2017 07:55

I did the bulk of the cleaning yesterday and most of the food is. King from m and s ready to put in the oven or something.

I've got a few presents still to wrap, the cake to ice and soup to make.

Ensuite to clean stairs to hoover and something to do with the toxic hazard that is dd2s room

Football today though, it's a big game but it takes up while day getting there and back 😟

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 23/12/2017 07:55

Thanks for the Argos tips!

I saw sloth fingerlings in store at Glasgow fort smyths if that helps anyone.

LetThereBe · 23/12/2017 08:13

Sparks card holders have access to the M&S sale now

hashtagelfie · 23/12/2017 08:34

I love your tree @Admiralclingus

Last 2 superdrug boxes have arrived so all presents are now under my roof! Tiny amount left to wrap and I can enjoy the next two days Smile

HoneyDragon · 23/12/2017 08:35

I did the majority of the big clean yesterday. The challenge now is making the rest of the buggers keep it that way.

In tone with the thread I was impressed with the 29p veg at Tesco though which helps balance the budget for baking as butter and sugar is hugely expensive still. Even Storks doubled in price.

RJnomore1 · 23/12/2017 08:53

I forgot that challenge honey. Not so smug here now.

cookiefiend · 23/12/2017 12:50

@Admiralclingus that is beautiful!

Is anyone still here? I need help. My wonderful grandfather has just phoned in tears- he has nothing for my grandmother and he is all stressed about it as this is her last Christmas. (Pancreatic Cancer) They have been married almost 40 years (second marriage) she is the love of his life. Any ideas what I can get last minute?

I offered him yesterday and he said he was sorted, but he is having a bad day today and I think the reality has set in. Help....

hobbitharry · 23/12/2017 13:29

Have you got a local florist that could do him a lovely flower arrangement ? One of those that doesn’t go in a vase ?
