So we're nearly there now, I'm counting down on one hand the number of sleeps!

Still time to post info on Christmas bargains but I'd also love to hear how the gifts you got went down on the big day and also share notes on sale finds

HAPPY CHRISTMAS,!!!

Anyone around who bought the 3D pen from Maplins?

I've posted a query at:

wornoutboots · 08/01/2018 11:17

toysforapound is back at last

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 08/01/2018 15:00

Butterfly I saw your post. I gave one to dh and we haven't had any issues, sounds like you might be unlucky :( but it wasn't that long ago and so I'd argue they should take it back as it isn't fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality.

SomethingOfTheNight · 08/01/2018 16:19

butterfly, we've not had any trouble with ours either. I'd definitely pursue for a refund or exchange.

snowbellina · 08/01/2018 16:38

I was just coming on here to ask how people are finding the 3D pens. Ours is great and I'm enjoying making some bits with it even if they do look totally rubbish!

AgnesBrownsCat · 09/01/2018 10:46

My smiggle ordered arrived yesterday. I did spend 51 quid so didn’t have to pay postage . I have 5 girls’ birthdays to buy for between now and August so bought 5 pencil cases and then inside each one is a pencil topper and pencil , sharpener with a rubber and a pen . Then I got similar in football version for the present box for my son for parties . Works out about £7.50 each but worth more .
I did come home from school run this morning to find the box had been opened by my husband . Goodness knows what he was thinking . 4 of the girls are his side of the family though .

AgnesBrownsCat · 09/01/2018 10:47

He says he can’t wait to see my credit card bill as so far I’ve had deliveries from M and s , Boden , smiggle and next . Think that’s it .

duckling84 · 10/01/2018 15:17

There's no bargain prequel thread yet but if anyone is still here, dh has picked up the wilko blox advent calendars for £1 each. In store only.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 10/01/2018 15:37

Bargain duckling!

yumyumpoppycat · 10/01/2018 18:48

ooh will look out for that at wilkos,

butterflymum · 11/01/2018 12:34

Thanks for the feedback on the 3d pens. Yes, hopefully the problem is just a blip with the particular pen. It has now been returned for Maplin's to check and hopefully a replacement will still be available by the time they make their decision, as I really don't want a refund (recipient wants a properly working pen back).

tumpymummy · 12/01/2018 01:28

I got some nice Xmas decorations from wilkos today too, 75%. Went in looking for cheap toiletry sets or chocolate selection boxes. But looks like I missed them this year. Or they haven't reduced them this year. Anyone know if 75% off at boots will be next weds? (Of course it will be as I'm working that day)

TellMeItsNotTrue · 12/01/2018 10:44

tumpy I've not seen a date yet but I think it would be the following Wednesday following normal rules, but last year they changed things up and did it on the Friday Confused

VintageTeacup · 12/01/2018 19:24

This looks good for any Terry Pratchett fans. Just bought myself a copy. £2 down from £12.99 Xmas Smile

VintageTeacup · 12/01/2018 19:26

Helps if I remember to link Xmas Blushwww.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/0857535501/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8#mediaMatrix_secondary_view_div_15157845726
Apologies for the long link.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 12/01/2018 21:09

Thanks vintage, have ordered for next Christmas, complete bargain. Do you know what age range they are suitable for? The website said 9-11 but I'm wondering if it'll be ok for a 7/8 year old (could be a bedtime story)

SomethingOfTheNight · 12/01/2018 23:43

Thank you Vintage, I've just ordered two for my two dds.

VintageTeacup · 13/01/2018 09:19

It looks a good book doesn't it.
Reastie I'm sure it would be fine, especially if you're reading as a bedtime story, you can always 'adapt' any bits that you feel need it. Mine should be here tomorrow.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 13/01/2018 12:19

HUKD have now said that they expect boots 70% sale to be Wednesday the 17th or Friday the 19th of January

I will update when I hear anything from there or other websites (including where I heard it)

duckling84 · 14/01/2018 15:37

Thank you for the terry pratchett book. I've ordered for ds1's Christmas Eve box. Had to get it delivered to work as I'm meant to be on an online spending ban for 3 months so can't let dh see. £2 though, for a hardback book, plus £1 kindle credit is just too much of a bargain to ignore

woodwaj · 14/01/2018 22:59

Can anyone make use of an 20% off mothercare toys birthday code? Valid till 8th Feb

VivaJen · 15/01/2018 17:42

Thanks @VintageTeacup, what a bargain!

AgnesBrownsCat · 15/01/2018 22:32
