So we're nearly there now, I'm counting down on one hand the number of sleeps!

Still time to post info on Christmas bargains but I'd also love to hear how the gifts you got went down on the big day and also share notes on sale finds

HAPPY CHRISTMAS,!!!

Happy new year everyone!

margaritasbythesea · 01/01/2018 08:41

Happy new year!

woodwaj · 01/01/2018 09:28

Happy New year! Here is to another year of bargains!

Admiral if you can't find them for a fiver is it worth just buying a whole new kit? You seem to get more overall if I have read it right?

The wooden geek is running a promo code for 25% off everything.ive used him before and can recommend he does things like coasters, chopping boards wedding post boxes etc. He made me a bespoke comic book box.

YellowMakesMeSmile · 01/01/2018 09:44

Whatyour, thanks for the reminder re Amazon books. Picked up another four for birthdays to add to the ones I'd already bought and thought were good value.

Gooseysgirl · 01/01/2018 12:23

Heyland&Whittle 30% discount with code JANSALE18. I really rate their diffusers (and I've tried loads) - last for ages, good scent!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/01/2018 13:11

Oh god. The Playmobil fire engine and ambulance have sound! The police car doesn't! It's rather grating (first time they've been played with as Lego took precedence!

phoenix1973 · 01/01/2018 21:22

I got the onesies for £5 from the men's section in primark.
Xl for him and ml for me.

wornoutboots · 02/01/2018 00:09

Thanks for all the bargains

Admiralclingus · 02/01/2018 00:35

@asuwere what did you search for to find them? That particular one is saying it doesn't ship to the selected destination 😣

SympathyStruggles · 02/01/2018 00:54

Hi all,

Not sure if it’s been discussed at all (I followed all threads till this one!) but has anyone who ordered the personalised Vaseline lip balm tins actually received them? I ordered 6th Dec and have had nothing at all. Have emailed but heard nothing back as yet!

totallyLosingIt · 02/01/2018 16:04

I know that there was chat waaaaay back about Cloud Pets. I just spotted the blue bear and the black cat versions in Home Bargains for £4.99 each. I got DD's unicorn one from the Entertainer in September reduced to £5.99, and felt I was getting an absolute bargain. So £4.99 is brilliant imo!

asuwere · 02/01/2018 17:00

admiral sorry, didn't check the shipping just linked the first that came up. I searched "nail art stick slice"

traviata · 02/01/2018 20:32

I had a good haul from TK Maxx clearance today - my favourite Miller Harris perfume £16 (RRP £60), 4 mini Marc Jacobs Daisy EDPs £21 to put away for DD next Christmas, and various skin care. Also I picked up some half price Soap & Glory, Umberto Giannucci, Ted Baker gift sets from Boots for next year.

Loads of nice looking make-up brush sets in Boots half price.

OhRex · 02/01/2018 21:13

Has anyone seen one of those family weekly planner calendars on their travels (either irl or on the tinterweb)?? I got one as a gift last year and it was m&s but I couldn't find one myself.... I like one to hang up that you flip over the months that has different columns for everyone. If anyone spots one please give me a shout!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2018 21:22

We have a Gruffalo family planned. It's great! I'll probably get one even when the kids are past the Julia Donaldson age!

Mrsmadevans · 02/01/2018 21:58

The Aldi diffusers that were supposed to be 'just like Jo Malone' has anyone used theirs? I ask because we had the Pomegranate one and it was awful I had to throw it away.

Gooseysgirl · 02/01/2018 22:06

Yes I picked up the No 4 (pear & fresia I think) last time I was in Aldi... smells nice but the scent is hardly noticeable. Wouldn't bother with it again.

tumpymummy · 03/01/2018 00:42

I smelt most of the Aldi numbered candles when in the shop and couldn't find one I liked. Shame because I'm normally a fan of Aldi.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 03/01/2018 06:40

Ohrex I get my calendars from busy bee. Would recommend as lots of space to write in things.

whatsonyourplate · 03/01/2018 11:17

OhRex Amazon and the Calendar Club both have a good selection online. Boxpress are the gold standard for large calendars imho but are quite pricey.

whatsonyourplate · 03/01/2018 11:29

Sorry that should be Boxclever Press.

snowflakestar · 03/01/2018 12:43

I really like the boxclever family weekly planner (it's changed name since last year but it's the same), pricey but worth every penny imo!

Admiralclingus · 03/01/2018 17:08

Thank You so much @asuwere I've found and ordered some so fingers crossed!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 03/01/2018 19:17

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere on mn but I discovered if you do a one day travel insurance with compare the market you are eligible for weekly codes to get buy one get one free at any cinema film every Tuesday and Wednesday all year. It's only at certain cinemas, but near me they are all the major branded ones. You can get your buy one get one free on any film on those two days and use it as much as you like through the year. My day insurance cost £1.17! Apparently it's been on Martin lewis' money expert show and is a known loophole but compare the market don't seem to mind that people do this.

escape · 03/01/2018 22:32

@sympathystrugles - yes - received mine maybe after about 10 days? bought the same time I saw the post on here.
