A rubbish thread title but, well, it's 19 now!

20 days until Christmas, I'm imagining us all wrapping late at night like little festive elves readying ourselves for how excited everyone will be with their bargainous presents.

Any referral links to go on this separate thread please

I’m hoping to go real life shopping today. Still have some vouchers to pick up, a present for dh from dd (no idea!) and some nice tea leaves or make up.

Rosie2000 · 19/12/2017 07:20

Thank you for the phone advice, think I've found something

sepsisandAKI · 19/12/2017 08:35

For any little lego fans. Police lego starter set is on amazon for £6.54 with 4 figures which seems pretty barganious. One day I will be able to link!

Jenni2legs · 19/12/2017 08:37

Desperately searching for a pair of all black (no gold labels) Adidas superstars in size 6. Everyone has 5.5 then jumps to bigger adult sizes. Also looking for a bargain...

LetThereBe · 19/12/2017 08:49

I've just logged on to my Next account and the VIP slots are available

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 19/12/2017 08:56

Ooh, thanks for the Next heads up. I've booked my slot!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 19/12/2017 08:58

I was real life shopping yesterday and found a few bargains.

Poundland (green signs) had little charmers lockets with little characters inside (4 types), unicorn poo or ghost busters slime pots, secret life of pets figures, little barbie figures, shopkins, despicable me 3, emoji movie, shimmer and shine annuals. All £1

Poundworld (blue signs) had jojo esque bows, fluffy balls with bow keyring for £1 each. Also selfie clip thing to make it further away to get more people in, little silly games for stocking fillers.

An independent toy shop had lovely ty beanie boos purses, shoulder bags and backpacks which are shaped like the animals. Really lovely apparently new in. The purses were £6, shoulder bag £11 and backpack £14. They had unicorn, multicoloured cat and husky. I managed to resist temptation and just bought the purses!

Primark had the shaped chip backpack from beauty and beast. Was tempted but have already bought smiggle ones.

Tesco have single barrel jack Daniels £25 instead of £40ish much nicer than the regular one perfect gift for whisky lovers! we've bought for ourselves! Also had absolut vodka for £15, Russian standard and smirnoff £12. Also pringles £1 a tube. Tubes of sweets/chocolates 2 for £1.50

Clintons cards had lots of in store offers on Christmas teddies/toys. 30% off I got a lovely penguin for £4.80

Oh and cex who normally don't do refunds will offer credit note of full amount paid on games until 31st december. I bought a couple of ds games, if they are no good at least dd can choose something else without losing any of the monetary value.

If anyone is still searching for the elusive fingerlings - they just popped up on Amazon again. White & turquoise with delivery tomorrow

Youreadthebabybooks · 19/12/2017 09:02

Anyone seen nativity costumes for 1-2 year olds ? A girl but she will happily dress as anything nativity like I need it from high street tho as need it by tomorrow

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 19/12/2017 09:33

yourread could you put her in a tunic type dress with rope tied round waist and a tea towel on her head? Instant shepherd, bonus if u have a cuddly sheep to hold :)

Scoleah · 19/12/2017 09:54

@Youreadthebabybooks Home bargains normally have them! And argos has them but only start from age 3-4

CarrotVan · 19/12/2017 09:55

Easy quick nativity costume - old shirt and belt from a charity shop (get a thin one that you can knot), tea towel or baby hooded towel with a stretchy headband to keep in place.

Otherwise - Asda, Home Bargains, B&M, Quality Save have all had them in

Coldilox · 19/12/2017 10:16

Just done a last minute twitchy Amazon order and I'm done. Well apart from my dad and his partner but I won't see them until early feb so will sort them out in the January sales! Thanks for all the help on here. Will stick around to the end just in case!

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 19/12/2017 10:21

I had resisted a fingerling until now and have just twitched and bought one. DS will have no clue what it is but he loves baby animals so he'll like it I think. I have zero will power

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 19/12/2017 10:43

Next sales slot - can anyone help me?

I'm in my account but can't see a link/button to book a sales slot. Does this mean I haven't bought enough with them to be able to pre-book?

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 19/12/2017 10:54

If it doesn't have to be nativity @youreadthebabybooks sainsburys do a great Xmas pud costume for that age. You might get lucky and find a small nativity one but they seem to be sold out online.

bunbunny · 19/12/2017 10:58

For anyone that has bought Toys-R-Us gift vouchers or has things they're thinking about returning there...

Have just been reading in the papers that they are struggling to stay afloat - I knew the US side of things were having it bad but they had originally said that they thought the UK side were OK, and that they would maybe make a few store closures but would then continue. However, the latest reports said that they are struggling to come to an agreement with the powers that be about organising this (that is the very very shortened version!) - something to do with pension fund shortages - and that there's a chance that they could all be closed down before Christmas.

Hopefully that is just a claim they are putting out to try to get people worried and get the thing sorted - but in case there are people out there who have gift vouchers for Toys R Us - it might be worth looking into the news (I've just read a couple of reports, haven't looked into it in detail sorry) and deciding whether to spend them now rather than later, or if you're happy to risk them not being usable soon or after christmas... Having watched other places like Woolies and BHS go down, it seems that as soon as they go into administration they often say that gift vouchers are no longer valid.

Likewise if you have stuff that you want to return to them - might be worth doing sooner rather than later!

I know I'm an old worrywort - and they might all sort it and it all be ok - but forewarned is forarmed and all that - and much safer to know and make a decision rather than being caught on the hop with a logoed piece of plastic that you have effectively paid £100 for!

Dolceandgabbana14 · 19/12/2017 11:02

Really? They've just opened a new store near me!

LetThereBe · 19/12/2017 11:05

itsnice where it lists options like 'make a payment' there should be an option for VIP.
Check your email too as there will be a link that'll take you straight to the page

Thanks @LetThereBe it definitely doesn't look like I have that option. Maybe next year! Smile

Carrie76 · 19/12/2017 11:35

There I was feeling all smug because I was done and my brother tells me that he’s calling, as usual, on Christmas Day with his kids but his new partner and her daughter will be with him!

What to do?? Daughter is 12 I have an extra selection box but feel i should put something with it but what. I have this is it suitable or do I need to go shopping?

The Paddington Bear cuddly toy is back in stock online in M&S!!!

Any last minute click and collect ideas for around £10 for an almost 4 year old boy? I'm stuck, I'd gotten the Playmobil fire engine ages ago (when everyone else did on here!) but I've found out that he's already getting it! Need to find something else. Preferably a bargain of course!

The Fire engine will now be an extra present for DS2 Xmas Smile

Theonlyoneiknow · 19/12/2017 11:54

DP has just messaged me in a panic! He is totally stuck for a gift he can get from the kids, probably one that I can do together with DD (aged5). Any ideas? Thank you! Budget £30 max?
