margharita - my dc (youngest is 6 and is starting to play it) enjoy monopoly Empire more than monopoly. They all like labyrinth and play it regularly, but only played game of life once since getting it

Taffeta · 05/12/2017 08:46

margarita - Pictionary is still great for all ages. We had a big group of 8-14 yos playing it for hours at the weekend

DumbledoresArmy · 05/12/2017 09:13

Just ordered 12 mixed case bottles of wine & a free bottle of prosecco & x2flutes for £45 from lathwaites. £1 delivered!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 05/12/2017 09:27

That's a good deal. Might look at that!

DumbledoresArmy · 05/12/2017 09:34

I think it's for new customers only though.

FireflyGirl · 05/12/2017 09:41

How did you get that, Laithwaites? I'd be a new customer, and am looking for some bargainous decent wines!

FireflyGirl · 05/12/2017 09:42

Sorry, DumbledoresArmy; sleep deprived today, toddler was up with D&V in the early hours. Thanks, other parents at nursery who ignore the 48 hour rule...

Uptheduffy · 05/12/2017 09:50

Have just been into the attic and there’s no sign of Xmas duvets for the kids’ beds, or indeed their stockings, something new to shop for!
(Am not just being lazy we have moved house so chances are they didn’t survive the move - thanks dh!)

Uptheduffy · 05/12/2017 09:51

If you sign up with bloom and wild but don’t order anything, they email you a £10 off voucher. (Well that happened to me anyway)

Haudyerwheesht · 05/12/2017 09:53

Anazon have purple fingerlings

Chocolateteabag · 05/12/2017 10:04

@margaritasbythesea - Aldi are going to have the Monopoly Deal card game (plus lots of other options) for £3.99 either this Thursday or at the weekend (it was in the booklet I picked up yesterday) - it's £5.99 on Amazon prime currently

CarrotVan · 05/12/2017 10:20

firefly normally you sign up to, and then cancel, their wine plan

CarrotVan · 05/12/2017 10:27

Anyone who is waiting for Great British Food or their free gifts

I rang their customer services and this is how it stands:

If you ordered before the end of October your first issue was due 1st December (not that mine has arrived...)

If you ordered in November your first issue is due 1st January

Payment is taken when the first issue is sent. The free gift is ordered at this point and takes up to 28 working days. To be guaranteed to get the free gift before Christmas you would have needed to order in September! However fx that the gift for October subscribers arrives quickly

If you haven't had the issue you are expecting then they can order you a replacement but it takes up to 20 working days

If you kick off they will extend your subscription by an issue

I have cancelled my subscription so should just get 4 issues and the free gift

Their customer services people are ok. Their production processes and ordering are clearly absolute shite

CarrotVan · 05/12/2017 10:28

@fireflygirl I can also send you a referral code for Laithwaites which might give you a better deal

Hippobottymus · 05/12/2017 10:51

Thanks @FireflyGirl I thought I remembered everyone talking about how long it took to put together! I must've been mistake. Thank god that's one thing I really cannot be bothered with Grin

SparklyUnicornPoop · 05/12/2017 10:51

Has anyone seen any good deals on laptops?

DS desperately wants a laptop for Christmas, it needs to have a good graphics card as he'll be playing minecraft/roadblox/the sims a lot on it.
I don't want a chromebook, he has had one before and it was rubbish for playing games.

I don't really want to spend more than £250 if I can help it.

has anyone seen anything?

GinAndSonic · 05/12/2017 10:56

I collected my second fingerling, so that's THAT sorted.

I need the hotwheels track starter set as cheap as possible please. Also boys fancy dress for an 8yo under ten pounds. Not a character, just a generic. He has police and fire and knight .

macnab · 05/12/2017 11:21

Thought I was done! but I forgot about the DH family Secret Santa and I've drawn my SIL. She's early 30s, very high-powered busy/stressful career and has given no clues as to what she'd like (too busy to do a wish list I'd say!)

Can anyone suggest something lovely for her? Something a bit decadent or luxurious? - not the sort of thing I'm used to, hence I have no clue Grin Budget is £100

Jedbartletforpresident · 05/12/2017 11:27

macnab how about a throw from somewhere like Avoca? They are really, really lovely and come in between £70-£100-ish. You could easily pick up some other treat things from Avoca like a nice candle and a nice gift tin of different teas to make her a wee bundle of things to relax with.

Jedbartletforpresident · 05/12/2017 11:28

I am slightly Shock at the £100 budget! Our family secret santa budget is £20-£25!

macnab · 05/12/2017 11:45

Jedbartletforpresident would you believe I actually got her that very thing when she moved in with her BF recently!

Yes, it's a mighty budget alright but there's a lot of them and everyone goes into it, including the parents so they reckon if they're only going to get one present it should be a good one and they're way richer than us

caffeineanddryshampoo · 05/12/2017 11:52

I'd buy lots of things from Neom to de-stress with if I had £100 to spend.

Jedbartletforpresident · 05/12/2017 11:57

Excellent taste clearly macnab Wink

Jedbartletforpresident · 05/12/2017 12:00

Clearly richer than all of us too then - there are 11 of us in my family one (also inc parents) but none of us want or need any more stuff hence the smallish budget! I'm very glad too - Either DH or I have either my dad or my BIL 4 years in a row and spending £25 on them is hard enough!!!

BeaLola · 05/12/2017 12:04

Okay my elderly Aunt has told my Dad she's buying herself a Revitive for Christmas - some gizmo that improves circulation & cost
£200 (!). My Dad now wants to buy it for her as she hasn't asked for anything else. I doubt there's an offer on it but just wondered if anyone here had knowledge of them & if they work ?

re £100 secret Santa - for luxurious & wouldn't buy yourself the new Chanel egg shaped container handcream at £45 (!). Neom candle - I think theres a 20% off code somewhere or the treatment candle is lovely. If she hasn't got one a Kindle paperwhite, Jigsaw cashmere wristlets.
