Quick Q on the playmobil fire truck, do I need to build it or is it already built? DD is only 4 so if it needs putting together I'll do it before wrapping it.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 04/12/2017 21:29

I suggested a movie night as a gift for 20 somethings but I did that last year for the second cousins. Can anyone suggest another idea for two lads who are 28 and 30 please? Both have just got engaged so I want to do a joint present for each couple for £10-20 each.

mammyaroundmadness · 04/12/2017 21:33

Not sure if this has already been posted £3.99 in BnM's

Mrsmomo · 04/12/2017 21:43

Dillie you can get Harry Potter trivial pursuit

BrawneLamia · 04/12/2017 21:46

Aldi had lots of nice bits in today - wooden toy kitchen, dolls house, and lots of small bits like scratch art books for £3 which will make nice presents for 5 year old dd 's friends

Spam88 · 04/12/2017 21:55

Dillie Primark have lots of bits (including potion bottle fairy lights which are really cute).* The Works have some mugs and notebooks. There's a pretty cool colour changing glass that I've seen in both MenKind and Debenhams (but presumably is available in other places as well). I was also going to suggest the trivial pursuit - it's just cards so you can either play it with a normal board or just play it with the cards and the die included.*

Oops, bold fail...

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 04/12/2017 22:08

Thanks @Reastie
Saw people selling them for a fiver which I thought was crazy!

ramonaquimby · 04/12/2017 22:23

another one who ordered from lalaliving on blackfriday after seeing it recommended here.
Everything sitewide was 50% off and because of that I forgot/didnt put the discount code in - only realised my mistake after I placed the order. Immediately emailed them to see if they would honour the 50% off - I've not heard a peep from them either.....

FireflyGirl · 04/12/2017 22:29

@Hippobottymus other than putting the fireman's helmet on, it doesn't need any assembly. I had the exact same thought! DS is too young to notice that the box has been opened, so I got it out to check!

clutteringfunt · 04/12/2017 22:59

Just saw this and thought it may be helpful Xmas Smile

shebebutlittle · 04/12/2017 23:18

Dillie I got DD one of these

BeaLola · 04/12/2017 23:29

I have bought lots of the HP stuff in Primark for HP obsessed son and it's pretty lovely - the only thing is having to find a Primark which has some of it in at any given time BUT then at the weekend I found myself in Canterbury meeting old UNI Friend and braved the Primark there and they had shed fulls of stuff incl for girls Dillie lovely HP satchels which I think were either £12 or £15, slippers, dressing gowns, sweatshirts, pjs , bunting, notebooks, key rings, mugs, and lovely HO wrapping paper at £1.50 for 5metre roll !

DillieDoily · 04/12/2017 23:35

Thanks everyone. I’m going to go to primark tomorrow to look for HP stuff and have also added the trivial pursuit game to my amazon basket as another option
@shebebutlittle thanks I think I’m going to order one of those key rings too

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 04/12/2017 23:35

I’ve emailed Lalaland but heard nothing back.

If they’re struggling with the orders then that’s fine but god, just communicate with your customers!

I needed 3/5 items for a gift I need to give on Friday, I’m not holding out much hope so far!

IHeartKingThistle · 04/12/2017 23:38

The lady at lala seems to respond to FB messages. AFAIK it's literally just her and she's very lovely and I think is a MNer. She sorted out my problem really quickly when I PMd her on FB.

Personalised Vaseline tins popped up on my feed earlier and I ordered them for my whole family. Must. Stop. Twitching.

margaritasbythesea · 05/12/2017 06:06

Does anyone know where I can get Djeco art sets at a reasonable price? They seem to have shot up on amazon.

I am also still dithering about board games. Any advice would be gratefully recieved. I think they would enjoy Cluedo or Labyrinth but DS 7 is all for Monopoly and The Game of Life. I also don´t know whether I should get the Junior versions. DCs are 7 and 9 and I want something entertaining and absorning rather than challenging.

margaritasbythesea · 05/12/2017 06:09

I saw this Anker portable bluetooth speaker on Amazon today. I want it for myself but I have stupidly asked someone who usually fails to get me anything for a speaker so I can´t snap it up.

margaritasbythesea · 05/12/2017 06:12

Actually cheeky Amazon. I have just CCC´d that speaker and it is usually around 45 pounds so not really a bargain. I stilll want it though!

imsorryiasked · 05/12/2017 06:54

@margaritasbythesea I would recommend the monopoly card game which is really quick to play. We also have Labyrinth which is fun but doesn't get payed very often.
Ds likes Ticket to Ride the best, we have the Europe version.

DubiousCredentials · 05/12/2017 06:56

I’m annoyed with Gap - my order from last Mon hasn’t been dispatched yet and I’m waiting for a refund on some returned items that they received via Royal Mail 12 days ago. I’ve queried it and have been told it can be up to three weeks to refund or dispatch at peak times Shock

MissRainbowBrite · 05/12/2017 07:15

Just had an email from BuildaBear to say there’s 25% off Pokemon bundles. Usually £45ish these are the ones with all the clothes. It’s only on today but I remember someone was after a Charmander.

WhyamIBoredathome · 05/12/2017 07:31

Dubious I ordered a tshirt from boden in October. It was finally posted out yesterday! it's been so long I can't even remember which tee I ordered!

hashtagelfie · 05/12/2017 07:36

Just like Vaseline, Coke, marmite and Nutella, I wonder when the ultimate stocking filler - Blu-tack - will decide to sell personalised packaging for Christmas Wink bostik would make a killing
