Sorry if stepping on toes, but I haven't noticed a twitch thread this year, so thought I would start one Smile
I've just twitched and bought a pair of heelys for ds(9), a ghostbusters proton pack for ds (4) and a candy grabber for dd (6). Tell me what you have all impulse bought.

anyoldname76 · 30/11/2016 18:34

i got bored earlier and spend £45 on dvds Blush i am completely finished now though......

MiscellaneousAssortment · 30/11/2016 18:48

I feel so comforted about my 'twitching' now, although it's more accurate to say I twitched my finger on an automatic weapon than on a single present or two :)

I'm checking my eBay account in a slightly obsessed way hoping the Hatchimal actually comes this time! I've got Amazon involved in the 'mysterious' non arrival, and they've started an Amazon 'a-z safe buying guarantee claim' thingy but the seller hasn't responded to it yet.

Taking all your lovely advice, I think I'll stick to the Hatchimal from Father Christmas and maybe the keyboard from me if it doesn't look too much.

So sorry to the person who I might have worried by saying the pottery thingy looks not very good, I'm sure it depends on the child, and I know DS would get more fun out of a lump of clay than the disc turning thingy which would be super exiting for 5 mins then get forgotten!

OhFuckOff · 30/11/2016 19:08

^^ agree miscellaneous all children are different, the year my dd got an iPad she was more excited about the chattering teeth in her stocking Grin whenever anyone asked her what she had for Christmas it was the chattering teeth. She still has them and plays with them daily

I think my youngest would like some chattering teeth actually

Oops a random cut & paste from earlier sorry!

I love fellow twitchers so much I posted it twice :)

Cagliostro · 30/11/2016 19:53

What DVDs then any? I have definitely spent that much (or double!) on DVDs for past Christmases, my issue is I do it in dribs and drabs so don't realise how much it adds up! I was much more restrained this year - one older film each (i.e. cheaper!) and one documentary each as they've got really into nature shows etc this year. Oh and I did get a Mr Bean DVD too, as they discovered Johnny English this year and it's been on my wishlist for a few years waiting for them to be ready to watch it! We're going to watch the Christmas episode on Christmas eve. So excited. They've chosen to watch the Vicar of Dibley Christmas Lunch Incident several times in the last few weeks as well :o

Yes definitely depends on child for the pottery thing. I can't see DD actually using it more than once as she prefers making animals etc. We made canopic jars by covering vitamin bottles once :o

Re: the keyboard. I'd give it. It's a toy at first but it can turn into a lifelong love of music. I'm a piano tutor, so I may be biased but I reckon go for it :o got my first when I was 2, and never looked back.

Badders123 · 30/11/2016 20:01

Pants for both boys from primark and pjs for me
Bath bombs for Ds2 from lush
Animalium activity book for Ds2
Water bottle for ds1
Mini nes for ds1

OhFuckOff · 30/11/2016 20:14

I'm thinking this thread should be renamed 'fuck it' or some better witty name Grin Lego technic pull back here

i bought battlestar galactica box set, box trolls, angry birds movie and snow white and the huntsman double box set. i had finished or so i thought Grin

Cagliostro · 30/11/2016 20:18

Oh I love technic :)

What is this Mini Nes thing? I keep seeing it mentioned but don't really understand the item description

Cagliostro · 30/11/2016 20:19

Good range of films there :o

Have you seen the new film by the Box Trolls people - Kubo and the Two Strings - AMAZING. Although DD was traumatised for a couple of weeks after. But it was beautiful. I will buy it for myself and watch when she's asleep (so never, then. Hmm)

anyoldname76 · 30/11/2016 20:28

yes we watched it last week, i loved it, although my youngest ds wasnt impressed . none of the dvds i bought were for me, ive told my dh i want the new star trek, if i dont get it ill be posting an angry thread on aibu on Christmas day Grin

Cagliostro · 30/11/2016 20:34

DS mostly liked it because of the origami! He's obsessed with Transformers (he has ASD and that's his 'thing' IYSWIM) and basically anything 'transforming' is a guaranteed hit for him. So he loved seeing the paper fold and move. Hence the Star Wars origami book twitch! I resisted other origami books and kits as we already have some knocking around somewhere (I have a friend who's a retired teacher who gives us oodles of her old stuff :o)

Badders123 · 30/11/2016 20:34

In my defence 🤔 I did walk past smiggle, tiger and build a bear 😀
I was very proud of myself 😂
I MUST stop.
The boys have more than enough now
So much of what I have bought have been bargains/half price/a steal that I feel quite pleased with myself....
Then I look at the piles of stuff and think....oh oh 😖

OhFuckOff · 01/12/2016 05:16

I've never even seen a smiggle Shock

I have had the most epic of twitches. Thanks to waking up at 4am, I found myself looking at collectors dolls online for DD.

I think DH might divorce me, but I know she will be chuffed to bits. She as Aspie, 18, it's her obsession. Naughty though. I don't know why I set budgets. Xmas Grin

It's also imported. £££

And now I'm thinking how do I even it out for DS...

I need to sit on my hands.

OhFuckOff · 01/12/2016 08:25

Kinky that sounds lovely, what doll is it? I find myself looking at reborns dolls for dd but she has never been interested Smile

OP posts:
OhFuckOff · 01/12/2016 08:58

Oh my word that is a doll that dd would actually love! She loves her coralline doll and santoro (sp?) doll but not barbies/baby dolls

OP posts:
KinkyDoritoWithKnobsOn · 01/12/2016 09:00

It was from a shop in Belgium, but most are imported from Japan. Some of the exclusive Ever After High dolls are beautiful, but can be ££ too. It's an expensive passion!

ToastyFingers · 01/12/2016 10:30

Dd has just said she's asking Santa for Buzz and Woody for Christmas.

Must. Not. Twitch.
