Matilda, I exchanged something bought in the last Argos 3 for 2. Most unhelpfully, Iwas informed by customer services that policies varied between stores, but mine was willing to exchange it for a different toy of the same value, that was also on the offer. When I asked about choosing a toy of a different value, I was told I'd need to return all three toys and make a new purchase.

Sorry, posted too soon. Given the faff, I have only bought 'safe' things this time, and am ridiculously pleased that I managed to get six Playmobil carry cases for less than £32. That the next few party presents sorted .

matilda I did that today - bought two paw patrol mash ems sets thinking there'd be different characters in each but when there wasn't I went back to the till who said to choose something else on the 3 for 2 and they'd either refund the difference or I'd have to pay the difference so in effect the one mash ems kit I kept would then be the cheapest and 'free' item
