Thanks

Shufflebum · 03/11/2016 14:05

My boys 5 and 7 have Slamm scooter, they do the Tantrum for smaller ones so that's what the 5 year old has as he's not very tall.
Very pleased with them

merliquin · 03/11/2016 14:07

If anyone is still looking for halloween bits, my local sainsburys has all costumes - adult & child - down to £2!! Includes an adult men's batman suit - that's DP's xmas present from the kids done Grin

GerrardWinstanley · 03/11/2016 14:15

Thanks for the replies on the Beerhawk calendar. I've warned DH a big is coming tomorrow and it might ruin a surprise for him. On the other hand he'll have a whole extra month to reflect on what a fantastic wife I am Grin

SimplyNigella · 03/11/2016 14:30

John Lewis had lots of nice Hallowe'en things reduced in store yesterday.

IHeartKingThistle · 03/11/2016 14:32

Oh no DH wants to get him the flicker and you guys say don't bother! Argh!

You think these children will ever appreciate just how much thought we put into this stuff?!

Bobsmum02 · 03/11/2016 14:36

Hi everyone, I'm new (but long time lurker, especially around Christmas threads) so hope it's ok to post....

Disneystore is having a flash sale each Friday until the following Monday. This week it's superhero costumes and figures with quite good reductions. Talking Spider-Man is now £12 from £22.99 (I paid £18 last week with a code discount 😡) and Ironman, Spider-Man, captain America costumes are all £18. Thought this might be useful to some of you.

Iheartkingthistle going totally off topic, my DD was struggling to ride her bike. We paid for her to have a lesson. I was sceptical but it turns out they really can teach people to ride in an hour. She had two hour lessons - one taught her to ride and the other was simply to boost her confidence. If you looks at the councils website, often under cycling or cycling proficiency they recommend people. Until my goddaughter went I had no idea this was a thing and it was something we just had to keep struggling on with.

IHeartKingThistle · 03/11/2016 14:40

That sounds amazing cat - will look it up.

Questionsquestionsquestions · 03/11/2016 14:44

Quick bacon question- does it need to be refrigerated and eaten asap? Or could i subscribe to give it as a Christmas stocking filler? Thanks.

Catanddogmake6 · 03/11/2016 14:47

Think the subscription bacon says it does not need to be refrigerated. Something to do with the cure process. Haven't bought any but it's on their website.

RosieBdy · 03/11/2016 15:01

I picked up the Guinness book of records gamers edition for £4.50 in Tesco this afternoon. They also had the new diary of a wimpy kid book and the new David Walliams book for £5 each. Lots of reading for my DS at Christmas, though I think I might have to give him the wimpy kid book tonight as he was going to buy it with his pocket money...

doctorboo · 03/11/2016 15:10

treadlightly one of my younger brothers is 12 and is in to music, 'cool' sticker art, graffiti art books (aimed at young teens) and Minecraft.

DillieDoily · 03/11/2016 15:41

Lego Elves Adventure Ship is down to £19.99 from £42 on amazon

verytiredmummy1 · 03/11/2016 15:42

Any ideas for not too expensive gadgets for men? FIL likes interesting gadgety type things. Want something different would be great as he buys everything he wants!

SnowBodyforrrrm · 03/11/2016 15:44

I just managed to get hold of the 'speak out game' for some Christmas fun! I've been looking for weeks but it goes out of stock as soon as it hits the shelf everywhere I've looked. Asda have it online for £19.97 with free c&c!

MooseyMoo · 03/11/2016 15:58

Dillie That Lego Elves boat is normally £24.99 so not a great discount

APocketfulOfStars · 03/11/2016 16:05

verytired

Have you seen this thread ?

Might be of some help!

ScarlettDarling · 03/11/2016 16:36

SowBoyforrrm I ordered the speak out game from eBay ( new and unused of course!) for about £7. I'm hoping it's the genuine Hasbro game but as it'll probably be played with a few times over Christmas and then forgotten about, I'm not too worried!

RoastieToastieReastie · 03/11/2016 16:39

Tread thank you for the reminder of the met office scheme, I did this last year and will do it again this year.

Hi all!!! Can you believe Christmas is next month! I'm in need of inspiration

I'm doing dh an advent calendar but am struggling to fill it. He's into vapid so have 10 small bottles of e liquid on the way so that's 10 days done but it's too expensive to get 24 bottles

He's into tech/ gadgets, doesn't drink a lot but I could probably squeeze a few miniatures in and I've already done him an American sweet hamper for xmas

Any ideas would be great!

rogl · 03/11/2016 16:43

That's meant to be vaping haha

FireflyGirl · 03/11/2016 16:50

Rogl how about some chocolate Santas/snowmen from Aldi? Cheap enough to fill the rest of the calendar but a nice treat.

Would he like things like fingerlights? Think they sell them quite cheaply in Primark.

RoastieToastieReastie · 03/11/2016 16:54

I've got a 9 year old girl from the met office present appeal. Can anyone give me an idea what nine year old girls are into? Most of my present stash is geared at younger children. I have a build a bear bear, or would that be too young for them? It's an awkward age as they might be trying to be all grown up or they may be very child like so I'm not sure what to go for.

OP posts:
rogl · 03/11/2016 17:02

Firefly I think I'll fill a few days with those but I think he's getting me a big advent calendar so I want it to look like a lot of thought has gone in
