See post two for links and codes and huge thanks to firefly girl for helping me update the list so hopefully all old codes have now been banished. I can't keep the list up to date without your help so please do let me know in bold so I can't miss it if anything doesn't work Thanks

Snooky17 · 10/10/2016 22:22

A few threads ago someone was looking for a good deal on bean boozed, they have this alternative in b&m which looks good here

Nannyloubie · 10/10/2016 22:22

Just got the Lego friends rollercoaster set for £64.97 on Asda, cheapest i'd seen was for £79 so happy with that, they have a few toys half price as well

Haudyerwheesht · 10/10/2016 22:26

Wow panther alright I didn't say I was going to force you to buy them Hmm

neddle · 10/10/2016 22:31

Half price bunchems but watch out for hair!

Someone was asking about 3d pen things?
My eldest son got this 3d magic maker for his 11th birthday last month. He's done a few projects with it and has really enjoyed using it.

AbleSeamanTitty · 10/10/2016 22:35

Fake Pokemon cards annoy me when dd1 comes home from school and has been tricked put of her real cards by kids who know they have fakes.

The arguments it causes in school as well, about how to spot a fake etc.

Please don't buy fakes. You're just conning other people's kids

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 10/10/2016 22:41

Thanks for the heads up re stacking of codes on book people - had a few things sitting in my basket so worked out nicely Flowers
Worth downloading the Matalan app - I did it a few days ago and was sent an email with one off code for £10 off £25 online with free c&c - they have some gorgeous Christmas things in.
And lastly, Christmas monopoly £18.98 on groupon plus £1.99 p&p
Very tempted but think my kids are a bit young and not sure I can justify it for me and DH?! Xmas Smile

Whatdoesaduckdo · 10/10/2016 22:41

I apologise for causing such angst about my Pokemon cards

My boys play amongst themselves they do not trade cards with others so it's not a problem for me if they are fake

Can I just say I'm finding some of our posters a little rude tonight possibly not intentionally, obviously the tone of a written post can be taken in different ways but bah humbug to you grinches can we have our happy thread back now Xmas Grin

ShoppingBasket · 10/10/2016 22:42

Thank u all for the info on Pokemon cards :) blooming waste of money anyway! He doesn't play the game, just collects them and looks at them.

Pinkladymel · 10/10/2016 22:46

The cheapest place to buy genuine Pokémon cards is chaos cards. They have a code at the moment for £4 off a £40 spend too and delivery is free over £20.

The ultimate gift is this set
www.chaoscards.co.uk/pokemon-c11/elite-trainer-boxes-pokemon-c1021/pokemon-elite-trainer-box-generations-p136279

(I understand some people mght think it's extortionate to spend that much. My son doesn't want £40 computer games, he loves cards.)

Get £4 off when you spend £45 or more! Use the code SPATENBRAU at checkout.

Get £6 off when you spend £100 or more! Use the code AUGUSTINER at checkout.

Another great way to get cards, and a lovely looking gift, is to go for the Pokémon tins at Argos when the 3 for 2 is on. The tins look really special and are great storage.

I need to ge loads (around 20) advent calendars. I've been to the pound shop in the past but would prefer Cadburys/Mars this year. I know Tesco did them for £1 end of November but not sure I can wait it out ther long. Can anyone remember if any other supermarkets did them sooner? Even 2 for £3 would be ok but £1 each better when I need so many. Thanks in advance.

pantherfootballforever · 10/10/2016 22:59

Haudyerwheesht - sorry! I really wasn't meaning to be rude! I've spent the day clearing out my kids' rooms and am overwhelmed (again) by the amount of stuff they have which just doesn't get used/played with or just ends up all over the place creating mess! I am trying this year to buy presents that are less likely to be discarded within a couple weeks months. I definitely didn't mean to be rude to you though and I am sorry! I am really grateful for all the ideas people post on here.

Haudyerwheesht · 10/10/2016 23:09

No problem. Have also spent the day decluttering children's rooms....with my children. Not relaxing and suspect they will feature in some hoarder next door programme as adults.

neddle · 10/10/2016 23:20

purpleladybird I think home bargains do bulk buys on things like advent calendars. You order online for collection in store if I remember correctly.

purpleladybird · 10/10/2016 23:30

Thank you neddle

CurriedEggs · 10/10/2016 23:38

Snooky that was me thanks.

Snooky17 · 10/10/2016 23:41

Purpleladybird last year it was around the 10th November Tesco and Morrisons did them for £1

Scrantonicity · 11/10/2016 00:40

Thanks so much to all those who have said they have spotted Christmas stuff in Ikea, Lidl and Primark. I know what I'll be up to this weekend!

usernumber007 · 11/10/2016 06:06

Camelcamelcamel alert this morning to say cat and mouse flip a zoo is now £15

Toffeelatteplease · 11/10/2016 06:17

I should imagine the other problem with the fake cards is that they won't be playable at any pokemon leagues and tournaments or have online codes.

by the time you take into account discount codes that chaos cards price is pretty good. But if you look at the basic box price our independent games shop has the box cheaper, and it's nice to support local businesses sometimes.

I agree the elite trainer box is totally awesome, especially if you play online as well it's like double the present then.

Toffeelatteplease · 11/10/2016 06:19

not my independent games shop Blush our local one , although that would be pretty cool if I had one to myself

RoastieToastieReastie · 11/10/2016 06:39

Right so I'm at work today until mid afternoon and I'm not sure whether to set up new thread now or later as not sure how chatty you'll be Hmm

Those lumi dough sets are back to £1.49 with free delivery here
I ordered two sets for stockings last time they were this price and thought they looked good for the money. Has anyone used theirs yet?
