Thread 6 - the one where the shark beds go astray and we try not to eat our chocolate hauls

Rubbish title but I'm off to bed in a min (it's been one of those days).

As usual links are on post two.

If I've missed anything good (which could be very likely as I'm getting back to work mode atm) let me know.

Just seen a cactus light on lisa angel that i really want, but it's £45 and even with 15% off i don't think i can justify buying it Sad

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 18/09/2016 18:46

For the 2 year old boy
if he has a little bike
Or
DS would love this

RaeSkywalker · 18/09/2016 18:49

Thank you Shopping and Fueled! I will send DH the links in an attempt to prod him into action/ let him think it's all his idea Smile

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 18/09/2016 18:51

Hooray I just did my first links Grin the monster books by Sam Lloyd are a huge hit, calm down boris and scary Sid are his favourites. I think for a boy of that age anything tractor/digger/dinosaur/fire engine related would be a hit.
Just remembered I'm buying DS
this for Christmas. They have all the different cars and they drive on water

HungryHorace · 18/09/2016 19:03

Woodwaj, eBay for batteries. I buy loads from there!

BocolateChiscuit · 18/09/2016 19:04

Please can someone link me to the heated airer? Is there a code? Thank you!

Coldilox · 18/09/2016 19:13

Someone posted some cheap rubber ducks, there were different ones - super hero, Pirates etc - but I can't find the link. Can anybody repost it for me? Thanks!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 18/09/2016 19:16

Play doh crazy cuts also £6.99 at Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/4247711.htm

I don't know how to do short links either Hmm

Some other play doh sets reduced too, including Star Wars.

cowssheephens · 18/09/2016 19:20

Still waiting for a refund for the blender. No email to apologise or anything, opened a dispute with PayPal now.

RJ one more unicorn question (last one I promise!). Does it go in the washing machine (or indeed fit)? I'm trying to talk myself out of it but this is the clincher. If it's fine in the wash then I may have to get but if it won't fit or isn't suitable then that's a no from me. I'm trying to be practical saying that about a giant unicorn is pretty laughable though .

Chips how can you type with that? Ouch.

Today in answer to yr questions. Where I lived previously we had a lot of condensation in the bathroom and mould on the walls because of this that was forever cleaning. When we used the heated airer in there it helped the issue. I also have a set of flannel bedding from John Lewis and love it. It's a couple of years old now and starting to feel quite rough (like it would if they were well used flannel pjs iykwim). We don't have a table drier though so it could be that would help. I find it lovely and cosy and sleep much better in that set than regular cotton, but it takes longer to dry. I'm not sure if I'm warmer (I use it in summer too) but definitely more snug which might make me think I'm warmer psychologically. I'd definitely buy flannel again.

Wood avoid pound shop batteries. We bought tons of them for huge numbers of battery operated things at dds party and they barely lasted with very low energy uses. Even the decent brand ones.

I little miffed at cornerstones - they have sent an email saying they have charged my account but not saying how much (it should be £4 as I have £10 referral from my mum). So I can't check it is accurate until it shows on my statement. Surely it should be standard practice to send a receipt?

luckiestgirl · 18/09/2016 19:25

Rae does he have brio style train track? You could get some accessories eg a tunnel or crane

A play doh starter kit

Some wooden Velcro play food that you can cut in half.

Wooden puzzles or a simple jigsaw puzzle

(I'm just listing what is on my wish list for my 2.5 year old DS. I wish my one year old was just as easy- I can't think of a single thing for him).

TryingtobePrepared · 18/09/2016 19:31

So keen to get my hands on the Naydia kids baking book on Amazon ( thanks to whoever posted almost paid 2x as much today) I've joined prime by mistake. Is it a mistake? How do I make the most of it? DP will think it's just an excuse to spend more......

gingerbreadmanm · 18/09/2016 19:37

rae can't find it any cheaper but i got this for a recent toddler birthday which went down a treat

RJnomore1 · 18/09/2016 19:45

Reastie I have never had to wash the unicorn but I will check the tag later abd see whether I can fit it into my machine - there's a load on right now.

I seriously want a pony cycle for myself for Christmas. Dh is very indulgent but I suspect he will say no to that (boo hiss)!

StubbleTurnips · 18/09/2016 19:46

ginger that pizza set comes up often in our tkmaxx for about 7quid - worth checking!

SelfieStick · 18/09/2016 19:51

Reastie the Argos unicorn is cheaper and slightly smaller that someone just posted on the last page so that might be a better bet?

woodwaj · 18/09/2016 19:57

Thanks Reastie. I will avoid poundland.

Hungryhorice they look great I've ordered from Ebay! Thank you!

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 18/09/2016 20:00

Thanks again smurfy ...Weirdly Lakeland Christmas discount never worked for me but on the other hand the voucher code you kindly gave me wutang gave £5 off despite the order being less than £30 so Thankyou both!

woodwaj · 18/09/2016 20:07

I have a few questions!!

What is Gelarti?! Is it too babyish for 9 year olds? What is a reasonable price to pay for it and has anyone ordered from BargainMax?

Ilikesweetpeas · 18/09/2016 20:07

Thanks for the lisaangel link cavemum. I hadn't seen that site before but bought some lovely bits for friends (and me!)

AmyAmoeba · 18/09/2016 20:13

Just been away for a few days and suffering from bargain thread withdrawal symptoms and I've just sat down with the iPad and a cup of tea and I'm overwhelmed with an urge for a giant unicorn. This thread should come with a health warning.

I should be immune, after the Invasion of the Giant Polar Bear, and the Giant Horse....and the huge floppy dog.

But I just really really need an enormous unicorn.

AmyAmoeba · 18/09/2016 20:14

Oh and does anyone know if bikes are likely to be included in the Argos 3-4-2?
