Like last year, whilst Reastie takes a well deserved break, i am taking up the flag to start a new prequel thread.

Because again finishing the last one is depressing.

Good one! DH was prodded into giving me gave me the Whittards variety box of tea bags for Christmas and we've been drinking our way through it since. It's lovely, the only drawback is that I'm now addicted to lapsang souchong which I can't find anywhere locally...

Asda have 25% off selected Lego City at the moment, there was a 3 in 1 set reduced to half price at £20 but that seems to have sold out. Still, worth a look if there's anything you know Santa should be bringing.

They look fab. I've ordered those and the workbench for my dd who loves playing with screwdrivers etc.

A quick heads up about Currys/PC World as I'd never realised that they price matched...

Went in to pick up a reserved sat nav today but discovered that reservation had run out yesterday and the price had gone up by £70. Said to the sales assistant that it was a heck of a jump (it had been on their easter promotion and is not in this week's spring promotion) so I couldn't justify it, especially as Argos had been selling it for only a tenner more than the sale price and they're just around the corner. He whipped out his phone, double checked the argos price was still lower than their new price (it was), and price matched it for me on the spot, all done very professionally and courteously.

He then went on to say that I should keep an eye on their site (and other competitors) for the next seven days as they price match against themselves and others for 7 days after you buy too, which could well be worth remembering, especially if you're after hard to get hold of things around christmas or you're not able to easily get to the competition!

apparently they price match against obvious competitors (there's a list) - people like Argos and John lewis - but not ebay - apparently people have tried to get them to price match their new thing against second hand ebay cheapies
