Evening all!

Like last year, whilst Reastie takes a well deserved break, i am taking up the flag to start a new prequel thread.

Because again finishing the last one is depressing.

So....whose got any bargains?

Hi, was here last year and got some great finds through you guys. My request isn't strictly a Xmas one at the mo. I want to get all the pupils in my class a little gift (about £1)
Thinking something outdoorsy, unisex. Was thinking along lines of badminton/fishing net/sunglasses. All of which I've seen on b and m but you have to go to stores and don't think I've got time.
Anyone seen anything that might work?

woodwaj · 17/07/2016 17:45

Im struggling with outdoors type toys natural but i found these jigsaws!

Chocolateteabag · 17/07/2016 22:08

Natural - here are my best attempts (DH is watching the Golf highlights Hmm )

99p compass if you had time for the delivery

compass bracelet thingy - you could contact the seller to see if they will do you a bulk deal?

clip on compasses

Or give them all £1 coin and ask them to come back in 6 weeks with what they managed to do with that £1 (depends on how old they are I guess)

Chocolateteabag · 17/07/2016 22:09

You could challenge them to find the best thing they can for £1?

Chocolateteabag · 17/07/2016 22:09

then come back here and tell us

Mummytron · 17/07/2016 22:22

Love these threads.
Can someone explain how ALIEXPRESS works please?
I have never bought anything from abroad before. 😳
Thanks

woodwaj · 17/07/2016 22:29

mummytron its just a shopping app. Download it and have a nosey through. My tip is to go for sellers with lots of feedback and if you look at the feedback you should see some pics of what they are offering. You are looking at an average of 4 to 6 weeks for delivery so leave yourself plenty of time!! Smile

Natural what about a glider for each child. Great fun and cheap. You can get dinosaur ones or different patters- here are 24 planes for £2.31, but put "glider planes" into ama zon and loads come up

Gliders

I am ordering Christmas gliders for my advent Calander.

CHRISTMAS gliders

12 for £1.99

featherpillow · 18/07/2016 07:39

cookie those gliders are fab, thanks. Just bought some Smile

Chocolateteabag · 18/07/2016 12:36

Cookie - love the gliders! DS1 loves them, but they tend to last 2 mins when DS2 is around (toddler destroyer) so a bulk purchase would save a lot of tears in this house

Oreocrumbs · 18/07/2016 15:49

If you are a tesco bank customer (which I am apparently, who knew? Including if you have any of their insurances) ...

Then you can buy selected gift cards at 15% off so a £20 gift card for £17. Might be useful to someone!

Thanks for the ideas, I knew I'd get some good ideas here. Loving the £1 project- either increase it or the best thing with £1 in sept. I'm banking those ones.
I popped into pound land in my lunch break as I was worried about deliveries. Got tons of badminton/bat and ball sets. I got some funny looks at the checkout but it was a successful trip.
Might go back and get a few garden games for my own kids.
Mummytron, I use Ali express a lot. Got some fab things on there over the last year. No issues at all except a pair of shoes that came up very small (I've heard that all the clothing items tend to come up small)
Obviously not worth sending back so sold it on to a friend at a small discount.
My best buys are funky phone cases- what a selection. Had success with bags as well.

GardenWorm · 19/07/2016 11:47

Magpie have a sale on, lots of phone cases for 90p, and dog/wildlife themed bits. Delivery is £4+ though, worth it if you can get a few bits.

IsItGinTimeYet · 19/07/2016 22:40

My people, I have found you!

GerrardWinstanley · 20/07/2016 15:11

£9.99 Advent calendar with jewellery and hair accessories here. Looks good for tweens (just not mine unfortunately)
The Barbie one was a hit here too a couple of years ago. £8.95 here

Equimum · 20/07/2016 16:10

I have no idea how to link, but after reading this thread in a rather addicted way, I made my first Christmas spur base today. Amazon have the Paw Patrol Rescue Training Centre on offer at £11.99 (usually around £30). I'm sorry, I have no idea how to post a link, but it's easy to find using Amazon search function.

It doesn't get amazing reviews, but ut means DS1 will get his Paw Patrol fix and don't feel too out-of-pocket Grin.

GerrardWinstanley · 20/07/2016 16:29

Good find and bought for DD2 (who will now immediately go off paw patrol obviously Grin)

I still don't get the paw patrol obsession. It's just some dogs doing moderately interesting things. Must be some sinister subliminal mind control going on I reckon - an army of children will rise at some point soon. Mark my words!! I may have thought about this too much Blush
