Evening all!

Like last year, whilst Reastie takes a well deserved break, i am taking up the flag to start a new prequel thread.

Because again finishing the last one is depressing.

So....whose got any bargains?

Boots have lots of half price toys online. Little Live Pets Turtle is £6.50. Also have Star Wars, Play Doh and Lego sets.

Chocolateteabag · 20/07/2016 19:59

Equimum - links are easy

Copy the web address
Start your message on the thread and when you want to put in the link:
type two of the square cornered brackets - [[
paste your link
press space
type a link description - link here
then type two more square cornered brackets to close - ]]

key thing is to not put any spaces just after the first set of brackets or before the second set

HTH - they really are easy once you get the hang of them
and makes it nice and easy for everyone else Grin

Chocolateteabag · 20/07/2016 20:00

ah seriously!
So maybe it's not so easy to link Blush

As you were everyone

Chocolateteabag · 20/07/2016 20:03

rushing back in to hopefully redeem myself!!

Present Finder has big printed hessian sacks half price down to £5
link here

They also have lots of other stuff in their sale too

(remembering why it's good to preview messages)

Chocolateteabag · 20/07/2016 20:07

OK - not going to let this beat me

Links:

  1. Copy the webpage address
  2. Go to the message in the thread
  3. Two square brackets then paste the link
  4. One space then type a description like "Link Here" then two square brackets to close
  5. preview you message to check you've not added a space where you shouldn't have, then post

et voila Halo

Hi All,

I was looking on the ELC website and I am tempted by some Happyland things (pirate boat and house) but they are so expensive! (£40 and £50).
I don't have any birthday discounts to use and they are not on sale at the moment, so I was wondering whether it's worth paying the full price for them?
I have two boys and I think they would like them. I am looking for some role play but the Lego ones (which might be cheaper) are a bit too ufll of little pieces for their ages.

Thank you!

woodwaj · 20/07/2016 21:36

thread wrapper

I think I've done a Link!! This is quite exciting!

Oreocrumbs · 20/07/2016 22:00

todayisa - Don't pay full price for happy land, elc drop them to 40 or 50% off regularly, from memory there is a half price toy sale at some point in the summer, always one at October half term and probably a good few other random dates too. We are past happy land stage now but dd had most of it and I always bought it half price!

todayisabeautifulday · 20/07/2016 22:54

Oreo wonderful, thanks a lot. Would you tell me how old your dd is please?

WeeM · 20/07/2016 23:00

I am quite new to mn and have just found this thread-I love a bargain so will be following eagerly!

FireflyGirl · 20/07/2016 23:50

Boots have some of the VTECH Toot Toot range, like the hospital (£15.50), garage, train station (£25) half price

IsItGinTimeYet · 21/07/2016 02:57

I have a very odd Christmas bargain help request. Does anyone know if OAK LAND FURNITURE will be having a big sale anytime soon? I have seen a new dining table and furniture I would like as hosting 23 for Christmas this year!

Nzou1050 · 21/07/2016 06:45

Coca Cola Christmas truck £5.50

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 21/07/2016 07:58

Thanks for the boots sale heads up. Got one of the live pets and Merida for only £7, they're normally £10.

Oreocrumbs · 21/07/2016 07:58

todayisa - dd is just about to turn 6, she still has her happy land but it was relegated to the playhouse to be an outdoor toy last summer.

It was my intention to pass it on this summer but dd and her 7yr old friend have found a new interest in it and have been playing with it so it shall live another year! Really is a good toy, I think I bought too much but wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Chocolateteabag · 21/07/2016 09:56

Good Morning

Just had an email to say Emma Bridgewater have final sale reductions
Some mugs down to £5.95, tea towels to £3 etc

If you haven't ordered from them before and you spend over £30 then via this link you can also get a free spotty mug

It's my refer a friend link - but I get £15 off a £75 full price spend which I can't stack or use other codes with so not all that great. But free mug for 3 others so far Halo

GinThief · 21/07/2016 11:22

It's not really Christmas related but this is a great chance to get a tastecard for £4 if you eat out link

GinThief · 21/07/2016 11:37

Me again, Magpie sale here link although postage is quite high, it is worth it for quality gifts at good price.

NotPennysBoat · 21/07/2016 11:49

Just ordered some mermaid blankets, excited! There was an extra 13% off with the code BIRTHDAY2016, don't know if everyone spotted that.

Thanks for the Playmobil Pirate link upthread too, it was down to £10ish when I ordered last night from Amazon.

Feels good to have made a start!

LongHaulSally · 21/07/2016 12:47

Playmobil large zoo- £14.99 seems a good price at Asda (plus £2.95 for delivery or free click and collect):

here

Questionsquestionsquestions · 21/07/2016 13:56

Just came on to add, at Emma Bridgwater the #30 minimum spend includes the cost of the free Polka Dot mug, which is 17.95, so you only actually need to spend 12.05 and get a free mug with it! (though you'd have to pay postage)
I only discovered that by accident...!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 21/07/2016 15:50

Saw on Facebook that the Argos 3 for 2 toy sale starts on friday!

Methenyouplus4 · 21/07/2016 16:34

Just a note on Emma Bridgewater, I bought some seconds thinking they would be quite subtle, and while 4 of the 6 are, the other 2 are ungiftable and have really big dark lines across them. Just so people are aware if buying for others.
