Argos have the playmobil rock band and stage back in stock for £19.99. You can plug ipod / pad into it and it plays music and flashes the lights in time to it!

cookiefiend · 08/04/2015 08:02

Saw on MSE that Argos have an inflatable childs princess Sofia chair reduced from 9.99 to 1.99. Reviews aren't hreat, but might be a nice stocking stuffer.

chair

Last year I kept a spread sheet with a list of names, the gifts I had bought, the price I had paid and the usual selling price (not the rrp which often seem to be over inflated now). It was so satisfying at the end to work out ow much I had saved, and helped me remember what I had bought. As we will have a baby and a toddler at Christmas DH is insisting that I wrap as I go this year as I only had a few wrapping sessions last year and it took ages. I like to wrap things individually, but may get big gift bags and tissue paper from Costco this year to reduce the work.

I am in. Grin

Let's do this Smile

Saly - I have a notebook and I write all of my purchases in that. I write all of my 'to dos' in it, not hair Xmas.

I write down who I need to buy for, ideas for presents as I think of them, what I buy, where from, sale price and rrp.

My son is nearly 5 so the presents and notebook are really easy to find. I suspect this will be the year that Ds goes hunting, so I'm going to store the presents in my mums loft (we can't store anything in ours at the moment).

Callofthewild · 08/04/2015 21:17

Ooh a thread already Grin I got lots of good bargains from following the threads last year. DTD's will be just over 2 this Christmas so will 'get' Christmas a bit more this year. Can't even begin to imagine what they'll be into by then though.

Off to buy a notebook chanie, DS is only 4 months so will make the most of not really having to hide presents properly for a while, love the idea of noting the RRP or original price!

chanie44 · 10/04/2015 08:31

Saly - since keeping a list of rrp, I've noticed how over priced some items are.

Up thread, I said I'd ordered some items from amazon, from the old thread. The items have started to arrive - I wasn't expecting them for a couple more weeks as they have to come from china.

I normally have the items delivered to work, but I forgot to change the delivery address on one of the items and it was delivered to my home but I wasn't in, so now it's gone to the post office - which is miles away

wume · 10/04/2015 09:29

Regarding the China issue, what are we all thinking about the health and safety issue now?

I ordered loads last year from Aliexpress but then saw some of the frozen dolls were called harmful and recalled.

It's put me off.

I've ordered stuff from china and it has been fine. In saying that, I've only ever ordered small stuff like scarves and purses.

I don't have a problem with buying stuff from china, but I probably wouldn't buy anything big.

chanie44 · 10/04/2015 15:46

I picked up my womdee infinity scarf from the post office today.

I'm pleased with it, for the price and it will make a suitable gift. It came with a hideous cross pendant, which I'll give to my children to play with.

Barbeasty · 10/04/2015 19:37

I have spreadsheets for presents, crackers (I fill my own) and stocking on both my work and personal laptops, and a list in the back of the notebook I use at work. Then if I'm in a meeting and think of something I can just jot it down, and I can keep the computer lists updated whether I'm at work or home.

A few places seem to have Easter sales on, although I don't know how long they'll last.

The Entertainer had a sale last week, if it's still on they had lots of things half price.

SideOrderofChips · 12/04/2015 18:57

I have spreadsheets :)

Peppa Pig wooden dress up less than half price at £3.68 on Amazon, is an add-on item so free delivery over £10.

chanie44 · 13/04/2015 06:14

Thanks for the peppa pig puzzle, I may get it for my daughter to take on holiday as she loves peppa.

chanie44 · 13/04/2015 18:19

I've ordered the peppa pig puzzle, which I'll get for dd to take on holiday

Another womdee scarf arrived today. It's a present for MIL and isn't too bad as an extra gift. I may use it as wrapping for another present (I believe there is a Japanese art to this.

I want to show it to OH, but when I show him things I've bought he decides it 'would be nice to give it to them now' and then it means I'm back to square 1.
