Ooh what a fantastic idea, is it too late to beg ask for a letter for Mum&Dad?

I am loving reading some of these really making me laugh.... I can't match a letter don't have the time but would,be happy to post a card from Italy ... Of course from Janet and Roy...Christmas or otherwise!!!,

What did happen to Colin?

My Colin got taken off the birth certificate for Baby Harry. It was quite sad really. But Charlene and Baby Harry are always welcome in Janet and Roy's home. (Just not for Christmas).

What better time to think back over the year and reach out and touch old friends!

Posted all mine off today. My Janet(s) is/are also thrifty, so second class postage.

I would so love to have one for my MIL. She's the kind of person who has a 'connection' for everything e.g. if I say I'm going to Sheffield with work she'll launch into a story about how her 2nd cousin went to a wedding in Sheffield in 1976 and it was very odd because Penny from the Post Office's mum had a cousin who'd gone to exactly the same place in 1983 (only that story would take 30 mins with detours to other interesting facts on the way). She appears to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of everyone she has every met so this would really drive her mad!

I think she'd be perfect but DH thinks she would be offended and think we were laughing at her (which we possibly would be a bit....) has anyone had one that has backfired?

Hehehehe!! Have just written mine. It has the following constituent parts:

Interesting fact about the results of Janet's foray into ancestry.
Roy's worsening arthritis (incl a trip to Lourdes).
Janet's disastrous yoga retreat which was ruined by an attack of the runs.
The suspected murder of the dog by the postman.
The trip to Sydney to see Simon and Amanda (no baby yet tho)
Catherine's success at Oxford University and her plans to enter politics.
Roy's appointment as Treasurer of the chess club.
Janet's membership of the community conservation project to stop new builds (incl a mini rant about maintaining the integrity of rural villages).

If anyone wants me to send it (I'm in Herts) please PM me.

I would love one of these for my mother! And am happy to send one as well from East Anglia, if anyone wants one.

Whoever asked about Colin, IIRC the original Janet & Roy ended their rr with 'P.S. Colin died'. Totally random. In my Janet & Roy's world Colin died of a heart attack during a swinging party.

Thanks AndHarry. It also includes the word "ghastly", a mildly disparaging comment about Janet's DIL plus some outright hypocrisy over the DIL's commitment to work over having babies, whilst praising Catherine's overtly ambitious career plans in lieu of a love life.

I had a small suspicion that my target was a MNetter.... [waves]..... :) She thought it was hysterical. No word yet on how she explained it to her DH.
