Sorry for not posting with the nail blow drying monkey link, (a phrase I never thought I'd be typing!) I've been caught up in whole-house-recarpeting-hell. Thanks Louisey13 for linking!

Littlemousewithcloggson · 12/11/2013 23:43

joymaker · 12/11/2013 23:49

They are in the process of changing my nearest poudstretcher into an Iceland so couldn't get the single zhu zhu hamster from there as planned.TillySwat is there definately a hamster included in the pack from tesco, the product blurbs seems to suggest otherwise Confused I'd like to be sure before I purchase, if you can (ie it has not been put on top of a mahoosive present pile on top of a wardrobe somewhere Grin) would you mind checking for me please?

ladydepp · 12/11/2013 23:54

Help! Somebody linked to Gin and Tonic Lip balm and I have searched through and cannot find it anywhere.
Can anyone remember where it was from?

Also Thank you, I have only lurked on these threads but have got some fantastic bargains that are going to make the DC's very happy! Thanks

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 13/11/2013 00:12

Haven't had a chance to read back this evening, but the Entertainer is generally the best place to buy individual Zhu Zhu hamsters. Usually for £3.

joymaker · 13/11/2013 00:21

Survival I dont have a store where I live to click and collect unfortunately, so by the time I've paid the postage I might as well just pay for the larger pack from tesco, thanks though Smile

Luggage16 · 13/11/2013 00:25

lol you can buy the loo roll for £5 for 9 on amazon - is it wrong that I'm tempted (and that I actually searched for it!)

Kat3L · 13/11/2013 00:36

Thanks Mooseymoo for the survival tool link, I've just ordered one for my DH's stocking.

In other news, my snitch necklaces arrived today and they feel really solid and look great for the price.

zipzap · 13/11/2013 00:49

thethinks the gin and tonic lip balm I think was on Etsy but if you google it, there are a few places that sell it, including this one:www.home-bird.co.uk/Littlecote-Soap-Compnay/Gin-and-tonic-lip-balm-littlecote-soap-company/

Unfortunately they all seem to be about a fiver or more, plus postage...

Pachacuti · 13/11/2013 00:50

I think it was here, TheThinks, although it's not particularly bargainous.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 13/11/2013 06:21

Grin at JacquelineHyde.

Like notso, 10 days ago if anyone had asked me what murad was I'd have thought it was some non governmental charity thing. CRAP NAME YOU SCAMMERS Now I only have to see the name and I get shouty.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 13/11/2013 06:26

Kittymouse- the antler bag seems to have disappeared! It was in the super-duper offer section, and was purple, not a pull on trolley mini suitcase, a proper bag....and it's not there now. Maybe it was v low stock.

RosieBloom32 · 13/11/2013 06:40

competely unrelated but this thread makes me Sad sometimes.

I read posts about 12yr old boys being into football and their teams (which is fab!) and then other posts about 12yo girls being 'into their nails' Sad and 14yo girls being bought nail dryers.

Saddens me that girls are not allowed to be children in the same way as boys.

#everyday sexism.

Anyway back to the baragins and Christmas spirit ... Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 06:42

My 12 year old sister plays football every weekend and paints her nails

DrankSangriaInThePark · 13/11/2013 06:51

camel klaxon!!!

Ginormous Playmobil School 4324 (the one which is usually about £130-£150 down to £79.99 on Amazon.

I am still mahooosively undecided about dd's main present, so am hanging fire, but somebody may be looking for it.

RosieBloom32 · 13/11/2013 06:56

I'm not arguing about it Spotty. Just making an observation that on this thread most girls are being bought beauty releated products and boys presents are aimed at their hobbies.

I would much pefer for my relatives to buy my daughters something that didn't promote the sexualisation of young children. But in this society this is seen as perfectly normal Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2013 06:58

I wasn't arguing I was just saying....

3bunnies · 13/11/2013 07:16

Ah well you would love my dd's presents Rosie- physics sets, electronic kits, scooby doo... They can still enjoy make up/face paint as does ds. I remember hearing about a grammar school giving lessons to girls in make up to counteract the view that clever girls can't be beautiful and vv. There's more than one way to challenge stereotypes. And what teenage boy probably wouldn't benefit from a bit of Lynx! Twas a right of passage in my day. I think it is about fitting the present to the person - if they are into nails give them nail polish, if they are into science kit give them one. I don't think shops, parents, teachers should be telling a child what they like but by 12/14 they should be allowed to express preferences.

MissLurkalot · 13/11/2013 07:26

I see your point Spotty generally but I disagree about this thread bring sexist. (Sorry, I love this thread, have followed it for 2 years now and am rather defensive about it.)

Most of the bargains I've bought for my two daughters have been unisex... Fold out School play set, playmobil, finger led lights etc .. The only pink item I've bought from here is the pink disney princess palace for my daughter but I have a sneaking suspicion her younger 2 yr old brother will play with it more. I've even bought him the black fox bag as he loves foxes.
