Since robotgate was beginning to fill up the third bargain thread I thought I'd start a dedicated thread here to save Reastie from having to write another mega op just a few days after the last one!

I haven't had my phone call yet and am actually excited for them to ring as I want to put my jargon into use (Is that weird??)

I have a dispatch date of 29th, really hoping that it shows up now.

The lovely iloveholidays took the trouble to post in legal for us and got some good advice. (Even though it was her birthday!) You can read that thread here:

Is anyone else worried about the reports of hope charging full price after delivery? I can barely afford £13 for the robot - definitely not £40!

I'm also off for a day out, so won't be able to check until tonight!

Fingers crossed they dispatch them.

If nothing happens I am going to ring them tomorrow and ask why they are not dispatching an item that they are showing as in stock.

Then get all e commerce act on their ass!

I'll be periodically checking my order status on their website today, but at present it is still the same as it was ('To be delivered' with the estimated dispatch date of today).

I'm pretty sure it's always said that for me! On the 'Order History' page it says 'Received' as the order status, but on the order page itself it's "To be delivered".

Also worth noting that the Order Acknowledgement email stated:

"The expected delivery date is an estimate only and may be affected by factors outside our control."

So they aren't really tied to today's date for dispatch...

Mind says to be delivered - which I'm sure it didn't before. They did tell me that they were going to honour the order anyway. I think the poor woman took pity on me as I was having a really bad day when she called and was about to sob!!

She initially said I could not have it, then I was told they would send it.

I think that if refunds haven't been made and the order says a despatch date we will get them tbh.

Yep, I agree that it's likely they will honour our orders now, as we haven't heard otherwise. I can't see how they could possibly justify holding onto our money for two weeks if they had no intention of honouring the orders!

I am one of the fortunate people who did receive the robot shortly after purchasing. I had a missed call same day as most on here last week but haven't had any return calls. The invoice received with the robot had no price on it, although the £13 had been taken from my account.

Today I received an invoice in the post from Hope for £13 something, so I'm not expecting to hear anything else from them.

Fingers crossed for you all that they honour it, you never know!

If they do, they will at least receive some praise from the MN Robotters (aside from all the messing about).

I am positive our robots will be dispatched today and we will have them by the weekend :)

Meanwhile I have a theory on what happened. ...

They also have these cardboard robot kits for £10 odds.
So, whilst putting the vtech robot stock onto website, someone has shouted "ere, morag, how much are those robot thingys?"
"£10 and something pence"

No offence to any morags :)
