Just thought if we all say what our dc's have asked for we can make a list for people who are struggling to know what to buy?

DD1 7 - Not sure what to get her yet but has asked for a fish tank and lego Ninja's.

DD2 5- wants Moshling zoo ds game and leappad.

DS is 10 and can't really think beyond lego, but I think we may be getting him something else.

DD is 7 and wants a two wheel scooter.

OvOntToSuckYourBlood · 26/10/2011 12:30

My DS1(almost 7) wants an iPad, bike, metal detector, various Lego sets, magic set.

He's not getting an iPad though! But I have bought a refurbished iPod touch from the apple store.

My DS3(almost 4) wants a new baby (doll), bike, shark toys, moonsand.

ShowOfHands · 26/10/2011 12:38

4yo dd wants an alarm clock and a cuddle. I've bought her a kiddiminiz alarm clock which she saw on an advert and went gooey eyed over. The cuddle's a given.

DS will be nearly 4 months and will be getting sweet fa. Although dd is insistant that she buys something so we're looking for something little on ebay which she can wrap up for him.

tummytickler · 26/10/2011 13:40

I asked the children at lunch time. I asked them, if they could only have one present, what would it be? This is because we are quite skint this year, and I want to lower expectations! And also to work out what they really want!
dd (10) - new guitar. The one she wants is £200, but we are getting her a Fender CD-60 in sunburst for £91.
ds (9 by Xmas) - Lego Star Wars General Grevious StarFighter.
dd (6) would really like Queen Elizabeth II to be her slave. Failing this she would like small surprises
ds (4) - more blardy fire engines.

We will give them more than that though, and hopefully if they are expecting one thing, they will be pleased that they have more! (but not much more!) My parents are getting them a Wii to share, they have been trying to for years, but I have been against game consoles, but this year I have finally given in!

twinklytroll · 26/10/2011 13:47

Surely tummy if you are skint they are already getting a great deal and more than most children.

tummytickler · 26/10/2011 13:51

Its ok - we are not desperately skint, just a bit skint. I would rather spend the cash doing stuff at Christmas time, than on pressies. I have already bought them stuff anyway. Every year they get an awful of of stuff, and I do want to discourage the 'want' of Christmas and encourage the 'give'. Lots of it is made up of stuff they need anyway!

sunshineoutdoors · 26/10/2011 13:52

dd will be only 4.5 months at Christmas: after flitting between 'nothing' and then a special piece of jewellery she can wear when she's older (doesn't seem much point in yet more clothes and toys), I have eventually decided on a complete box set of the Beatrix Potter Peter rabbit et al books. Then it's something she can use in the not too distant future and can also keep forever as her 'first Christmas present'.

izzybiz · 26/10/2011 13:54

Ds1 (19 at Christmas) am looking to get him a 2nd hand laptop

Dd (7) has asked for a nintendo 3ds, a metal detector and a Michael Jackson CD!
She has got a pink PSP with games and films, a reconditioned Ipod mini, we will get her the metal detector and the cd, along with bits and bobs.

Ds2 (3) Will be happy with anything.
He has a Playmobil pirate ship and the entire Peppa Pig village, cars, figures etc (2nd hand)

cece · 26/10/2011 13:58

DD 10 - mobile phone - already bought in sale

DS1 8 - BMX bike - already bought in sale

DS2 2 - trampoline - already bought in sale

Grin

All three items have cost about £100 in total.
Although I am thinking of doing the trampoline as a joint present for all three and getting DS2 some Playmobil instead!

MegBusset · 26/10/2011 14:44

DSes (4 and 2) will be getting the Tomy Big Loader and ELC Brambledown windmill as their joint 'big' presents.

Stockings will include:
Orchard games
Books
Toy snake
Playmobil figure
No doubt some kind of vehicle to join the other five thousand!

Lockets, DS1 has chosen to do music as a GCSE at school, they use iMacs. It will help him with this subject.

We have to make both boys alike otherwise it isn't fair. We bought the headphones and ipad2 whilst on holiday ($ to £ meant that we got the headphones and iPad combined for the same amount of money for the iPad in the UK). It took a lot of hide and seek in shops that morning whilst DH was in the Apple store Grin.

They are both down to earth boys... They still ask for the Guiness Book of Records.

But yes, I agree, they are very lucky.
