Called back to consultant after DS brain MRI

hello, my DS aged 7 has been having nausea, sickness and headaches since November and through lots of pushing managed to get an MRI which was on Monday eve - we were told to expect results in 2 weeks. Today I received a phone call from the paediatric consultants secretary asking myself and hubby to go in tomorrow at noon. I’m terrified. Has anyone else got experience of this? What’s scared me most is that they have asked me to bring hubby. They have requested that we don’t bring DS. I don’t even know what I’m asking for on this thread, maybe someone that has been in a similar situation? Thanks x

what a relief op Flowers

TeddyTonks · 28/06/2022 10:51

Fantastic news OP. Hope DSs recovery goes smoothly and pathology comes back nice and quickly so you have a plan to move forward.

concernedreinsurance · 28/06/2022 10:51

:)

I don't think you'll break yet OP as you'll be busy with him. There's always a job to do in the hospital even if it's just keeping out of the medic's way/looking out for the surgical team.
Besides, when you do break, you'll mend xxx

They’ve removed all of it!!!! So happy! But also feeling very numb! Not sure when I’ll break. I was worse last Wednesday than I have since they found it. He FaceTimed me from his iPad at 4.45am this morning and was very happy (anti sickness drugs 😂) so I popped over to see him at which point he was asleep again. So grateful for the surgeons, Ronald macdonald and the whole team here at JR. We are so lucky xx also thank you everyone for all your comments, they have kept me busy reading them and kept me calm xx pathology will take 7 days so we will know more then

I'm so happy to read this! I'm not sure what you mean by 'break.' You probably need a really good cry, of relief and a release of all the stress you are under.
Please take care of yourself. Sending so much love to you. xx

Dita73 · 28/06/2022 11:27

Brilliant update! Thinking of you all. Sending love and positivity your way xx

nearlymumof5 · 28/06/2022 11:28

@BotCrossHuns we chose to have a much needed sleep at Ronald McDonald rather than sleep on a chair in high dependency where it’s extremely noisy and quite cold. He’s on continuous morphine currently and is definitely feeling lots of pain in his head and neck. He was administered drugs to stop him vomiting which one of the side effects was waking him fully and being a silly billy. He’s definitely not recovered yet - obviously. He’s doing great though.

I am so glad to hear your updates. Removal of all the tumour is such an important prognostic factor whether it's cancer or not. Really happy to hear that he is feeling good and well enough to facetime. Hope you have a better day now after some rest.

RaspberryChouxBuns · 28/06/2022 11:31
