IMHO some people have gone batty

Some of the mad ideas I have read on here in last couple of days

Bonkerz the lot of them

How they treat their nannies or au pairs

They work long hours for not much pay.

There are some very fair parents who are working hard AND treat their au pair with

RESPECT

KINDNESS

But others

who spend all their time finding something to moan about.........

Why can they not treat them the same way they would like their DD to be treated if she wanted to become an au pair?

Would they want their DD to work in same circumstances?

LOOKING AFTER CHILDREN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN THE WORLD

THEY ARE OUR FUTURE

It is also the best job in the world and the most fun,

seeing their faces when they have completed a jigsaw puzzle

learnt how to build a tower with 3 bricks

Please remember to treat others as you would like to be treated

.......

As I said on the other thread - market rates. It's not how much value you place on something, it's the going rate. Cleaners here cost 10 euros an hour, nannies (qualified or experienced) get about 7. Babysitter through the commune of an evening will set you back 2 euros an hour, private babysitter, back to 6-7 euros an hour.

People pay for the best they can afford re childcare - if an excellent live-in euronanny will work for GBP 12K a year and an excellent live-in Britnanny is asking GBP 25K a year, more people will be able to afford the euronanny. I don't think people cut corners (well some will, obviously, there will always be someone who earns megabucks who wants to pay as little as possible - that's the not very nice side of life).

I must go earn my money now.... ta ta.

I am a SAHM when my DS was under school age I was at home 24/7

When he went to school I worked as a childminder during school hours for teachers.

So yes I am

When I am working I only work when DS is at school.

SO total respect for those who have children younger than school age and are at home

BUT also total respect for working parents who go to work and leave their children with professional childcare.

Or who have their children with them and work as childminder or nanny or otherwise work at home in between sleeps and toddler groups and all that being a parent brings

And to all those who juggle everything [deffo respect]

JUST RESPECT THOSE WHO CARE FOR THE CHILDREN PLEASE

I've been to para Dise but I've Never Been To Me...

katierocket · 21/04/2005 13:35

altogether now
OH, I've been to Georgia and California and anywhere I could run
I took the hand of a preacher man and we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places and friendly faces because I had to be free
I've been to paradise but I've never been to me
