Employers of nannies ...

VirginiaWoolfisNotDead · 08/05/2008 15:07

After my absolutely disasterous experience of hiring a nanny, I'm thinking of setting up an email-based support group for employers of nannies. Would anyone be interested in joining?

*the words "employer" and "nanny" should be interpreted broadly.

Waves at boss .......

My boss is on mumsnet and she knows what I am like in RL. She would be proud of me for sticking up for a nanny who she knows well and thinks is great..I hope she would not want to be friends with many of you... infact she thinks most of you are fruitloops (which was the warning she gave me when she recommended mumsnet to me!)

No worries there..anymore questions?

soapbox · 09/05/2008 17:33

Gosh a liar as well as everything else!

Blimey what a catch you must be as a nanny!

Very Jura 100%

JennaJ re.. "Most of the people on here are not who they seem and are not like their online characters. FACT" - I happen to have met a lot of these people face to face and they are exactly like their online characters. It was you that was trying to deceive us.

Maybe you should climb out of your hole and attend a meet-up and you will see how kind/caring/generous all these people are and totally the same as their mumsnet persona.

oh cross post - you wouldn't want to as we are "fruitloops".

You seem to have the knack of speaking for others whilst they are not around. Maybe you should get your boss on here to speak for herself.

Raeanne · 09/05/2008 17:43

Blimey, I missed it all

I was busy in my lovely new job!

JennaJ · 09/05/2008 17:56

misslisa · 09/05/2008 23:54

I'd love to join if thats ok!

Blueskythinker · 10/05/2008 01:01

Oh, drat, I missed it.

nannynick · 10/05/2008 12:25

"However I would not like you all to stop posting here, as the questions you ask, the discussions we have, are so useful to both employers and nannies."

I meant by this that I didn't want you all to go off to a private group and not visit mumsnet anymore

As employers you need to be able to discuss things with others in a similar position. This can be done on mumsnet, or in a private group. The nature of the discussion may determine where it gets discussed.

ShinyPinkShoes · 10/05/2008 12:47

OMG- Something has just clicked.

On occasion I have helped to put nanny needers and nannies looking for work in touch with one another. Jenna- you emailed me a nanny's details a while ago and told me that you were actually her employer when it actually transpires that she is your friend.

So this would mean that you lied to try and get your friend a job.

That's hardly professional is it?

annh · 10/05/2008 15:29

And on the origial topic, could someone please cat me with details of how to join the group? I have actually just given up work (well, it kind of gave me up, through moving location which meant I chose to be made redundant) and have in turn had to make my nanny redundant. However, I have hopes of returning to the world of work again in the future and would like to think I might have something to contribute to a group!

I have no idea what is going on, I sort of recognise the two main players but have no idea what jenna is in relation to them as I clearly missed that thread [hmmm]

BUT

just to prove how childish I am, this particular gem of a comment has has me giggling for a good 125 mins now

And me! I'm very high!^

MN mother in drug scandal shocker!!

I'm sorry, I'll go away now...

Earlybird · 10/05/2008 17:44

Unfortunate coincidence for name similarity?

missiesparkles · 10/05/2008 17:47

I obviously meant 15mins...

it clearly wasn't that funny!!

mananny · 10/05/2008 18:22

so lying appears to be Jenna's forte.....

.... but as long as it's all done "in fun" it's ok ....

ShinyPinkShoes · 10/05/2008 20:18

Jura- I think it might have been me who passed them on to you when trying to be helpful! If it wasn't you it was flowery

cocopops1 · 10/05/2008 21:28

O my God...Who is that Jenna thing???Is she for real???Even if she was bored in her life she has gone too far.Has she got some personal problem with people on the MN???Just advice to you Jenna-this is very well known , respected site and it is sad that people like you have to come and try to make it as a joke. People have right on their privacy and you don't have right to talk openly about their RL names.Just a thought...
No need for that...
Be who you are and people will accept you..

Amen

Well done for admitting that you were wrong and if it had been one of my friends and it had been something bad I might have done the same. Maybe without the wine though so I got a better perspective on things. That would be a good thing to remember in the future.

I wish we did all know the full story. Maybe you and atenenoctua should compare notes to see whos been telling who porkies.

VirginiaWoolfisNotDead · 11/05/2008 18:31

I've received a few CATs and have sent out emails. If you've sent a CAT and haven't heard from me, let me know.

I have a few million other things I could say, but I'm not going to, at least not here.
