Right, as mentioned in the staffroom, there is definitely something in the water!! Due to there being a few of us now, I thought we should have a thread to keep tabs on when everyone is due etc.

I'll put the info I know so far, come and add yourself/your details or even better, copy and paste this list and update accordingly

Crace - C-section booked for ??? May
Looneytune - EDD 23rd June (BOY)
eleanorsmum - EDD ????
MamaG - EDD ???

I know there are others but I just can't remember now (don't you just love the pregnancy brain!). Tori has her baby last night and I think another had theirs recently too but still thought there were more pregnant C/Ms????

Bluuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

That's how I'm feeling

Saw midwife yesterday for booking in appt. Not the point really other than for her to send off my details to hospital for scan appt! She now says 25th Dec estimated due date! much for muchness really and no doubt it's going to a Christmas baby!! I have to go for bloods next week and then to hospital to see midwife the week after for an 1 1/2 appt - what on earth are they going to do that will take 1 1/2 hours?? Will be working that day so not sure what to do. She said I could take mindee with me, but that's a long time to just sit around for them even if I do take a few things to do. Will have to think about it.

Morning sickness still in full force!

Have told parents now too.

crace · 07/05/2008 16:31

I am HOT and tired, and miserable, generally. I am in that hideous last stage though, and want to do way more than I am able to do and then exhaust myself. Plus a toddler to entertain.

SB - saw your message in the staff room, I am in mid kent, sort of between Tonbridge and Maidstone. It's stunning out here at the moment.

southernbelle77 · 07/05/2008 16:42

Sorry you're so hot and miserable Crace. I remember when I was pregnant with dd and we had such a hot summer and it was just horrible in the last stages of pregnancy being hot and sweaty!

I grew up in Sevenoaks! Dad still lives there (when he's in the country that is!). My best friend lives in Tonbridge!

PS. Go to the staff room and answer my question about new mindees!! Ta

libbysmummy · 07/05/2008 19:19

SB my sis in law was due 25th Dec just gone. She eventually had her DD on Boxing Day and said it was a great time to have a baby! She highly recommends it as it certainly made Xmas interesting!!!!

I am swelling up like a balloon now - wedding rings no longer fit - I am getting seriously fed up and 10 weeks feels like an awful long time.........but on the plus side, only 3 weeks till I go on maternity leave and DD has just started pre-school so I have 2 afternoons a week JUST TO MYSELF!!!!!!!

OFSTEDoutstanding · 14/05/2008 11:09

Hi everyone hope you are all ok I am off work today with sickness and dihorea phoned dr and they say not to take anything just let it work through my system, had a water infection last week which I am still on antibiotics for sometimes it feels like I live at the doctors! Still 15 weeks to go and I already feel bigger than I did with ds. Anyway thats enough of my 'news' how are you all doing?

southernbelle77 · 14/05/2008 13:30

Hi OO, sorry to hear that you're not well. I hope it clears quickly.

I had my first lot of bloods done yesterday. Was ok when she finally found a vein (I've always had the same problem) although she did apologise for making me, in her words, look like a patchwork quilt with all the plasters she had to stick on me!!

Midwife again next week. This pregnancy is going sooooooooo slowly! I'm only 8 weeks tomorrow. Still another month before my scan! I hope it gets quicker after the 12 week mark! I've never been a very patient person

We need updates from everyone else too! Come on Crace and LT, tell us how you're doing

MamaG · 14/05/2008 13:32

I'll be 16 weeks on Friday - can't believe how quickly its going. 4 weeks tomorrow I'll hopefully find out the sex as well (I'm far to impatient to wait!)

Feeling it move now, which is lovely

southernbelle77 · 16/05/2008 12:56

I've got my scan date through! Very excited. Its on Friday 13th June. Good job I'm not supersticious!!! It's going to the longest 4 weeks ever I'm sure!!

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2008 01:39

Just checking in to see how you lovely ladies are. Apologies for my seemingly lack of interest, I am, really. It just seems that I have so many things to do when I get in now, there's no time to MN, hence it being silly o'clock now!

In case I don't catch up with you before next Friday Crace, very best of luck. SB, i may have said congrats further down the thread, but if not, congrats! Already checked in with MamaG this week, so I know she's fine. I'm off to check out Looneys FB page now for an update on her bump!

Goodluck to everyone else on this thread, I picked out these lot, because I was there at the start, iyswim!

Rambling now - bye!

looneytune · 20/05/2008 09:59

Thought I'd pop on quickly whilst I've got 5 mins to say hi and to see how crace is getting on? You must be full of mixed emotions right now, exciting though

I'm on my last 3 weeks of work now and bloody looking forward to stopping!! Baby right low down now so getting ready. Been busy like mad shifting/building new furniture and organising baby bits. Had a bit of a panic about what to do with ds if I end up having to have baby in hospital (change of plan with my parents which can't be helped) and luckily I now have a lovely parents of mindee I look after who are covering that if needed

Congrats to GTG, I've added you to the list at the bottom here In answer to your questions:

When did you tell your mindees' parents?
I told mine after my dating scan around 10/11 weeks (could no longer hide it as big!)

How long are you planning to work for / when are you planning to start work again?
I'm having 12 weeks off in total. Stop 2 weeks before due and start back 12 weeks later so when baby is between 8-10 weeks old.

How many of you are applying for Maternity Allowance? - do you have to be off for 6 months to get it?
I've applied and been told I'll hear back this week. As far as I know you can claim for less that 6 months otherwise I'm f'd!

What do you do about midwife appointments?
I ask parents if I can take mindees or offer to refund them the time/day and just see what they want.

Right, got to go. Sorry no time to read the rest of the messages atm.

For now, here's the updated list:

crace - C-section booked 23rd May THIS FRIDAY!!
looneytune - EDD 23rd June (BOY)
libbysmummy - EDD 14th July
kkey21 - EDD 27th August
ofstedoutstanding - EDD 25th August(GIRL)
ellideb - EDD ??? September
MamaG - EDD 30th October
southernbelle - EDD 24th December
GordontheGopher - EDD 28th December

Hi guys, I am a bundle of nerves frankly - I should be excited but my never ending list of things to do is still there and I just don't have the energy anymore to do it and take care of dd. MIL comes on Thursday night and then she is on duty for the weekend while dh comes and goes as I need him at the hospital.

Sorry, bit of bad company at the moment - late pregnancy just sucks huh?

looneytune · 20/05/2008 19:51

Bless you, understandable I suppose when you know exactly when it's all happening. You'll be fine though and you WILL manage if all is not done in time. But if you're anything like me, you feel you just HAVE to have everything in place

Just don't overdo things! xx

OP posts:
Shoshe · 20/05/2008 19:57

cracie we will all be awaiting the news, i take it that you have primed MIL on how to post on tis thread with all th enews, AS IT HAPPENS we want a running commentary.

GordontheGopher · 20/05/2008 20:02

Hi just to let you know I had an ERPC this morning following a scan that showed a missed miscarriage. Feel fine - did lots of crying yesterday but just feel relief today - I had a funny feeling it wasn't meant to be.

Good luck all of you and hopefully I will be joining you again very soon.

looneytune · 21/05/2008 18:34

Oh GTG, I'm so sorry Hopefully at least as you've had the ERPC things should settle down quicker, they did for me anyway. Be kind to yourself and hopefully we'll see you back here soon. xx

crace - how you doing hun?

OP posts:
southernbelle77 · 21/05/2008 18:39

Oh GTG I'm so sorry. I've only just seen this. I hope that you are ok - as much as you can be. Thinking of you.

LT - Crace quickly posted in the staff room today if you want to go look.

looneytune · 21/05/2008 18:41

Cheers, will go and look quickly

will be thinking of you Friday hun!

kkey21 · 22/05/2008 10:06

Good morning ladies.....

I am so sorry i havent posted on here for a while, no excuses really just the usual running round like a headless chicken syndrome! I have been reading up and like to keep updated with all in the mn world!

So sorry to hear your news GTG, i have been through a missed m/c myself found at the scan and i know how hard it is..... Sending you lots of love and hope to see you here very very soon with some news for us!

Good luck to Crace for Fri, just cannot wait to hear!

I am 26wks now and getting bigger, struggling to control my weight (ok control being wrong word but its piling on!) I am just about to start filling in my forms for mat allowance-can i ask how we 'prove' our income....would the duplicate reciepts be ok that i have in a book for myself?? (I would obviously copy them for myself)

I am giving up on the 16th July at 34wks so i can spend lots of cuddly time with my 2yr old son and hopefully many hot days in the garden before baby!

xxx

looneytune · 22/05/2008 12:58

Hi everyone.

Just thought I'd say good luck again to crace although I think she's disappeared now?

I've just posted this in the staff room (I'm in a good mood ).....

Well it's very quiet on the work front today so I'm finishing nice and calmly 2nd week of having one of my babies on hols so today and yesterday I've had just the one 1 yr old (til after school). Mon & Tues I just had my tiny baby as ft 1 yr old was off. Got informed I'm not needed on Fri for tiny baby and then prob not Tues if they are still away (Mon is bank hol and Tues my ft mindee usually goes to grannies so I get a free day off). When ft mindee mum found out i'm not having tiny baby tommorrow, she said she'll keep hers off to give me a break (she's on garden leave now) so I also have tomorrow off for free (until after school).

Sooooooo, drop ds off at school tomorrow morning, no mindees during day, leave at 2.30pm to go to first school then pick ds up and just them 2 for the afternoon (mindee picked up about 5ish these days ). Next week half term so no older mindee, hopefully no work at all on Tues, giving extra long weekend. Other 1 yr old back Wed/Thurs so have 2 x 1 yr old and ds (5) but no school runs etc Then tiny baby back for 4.5 hours on the Fri but I've got Dr's at 2.30pm so 1 yr old mindees mum said 'oh, have the day off' so that will be an easy day with me being done at 2pm! Then the next week is my last week - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee. That will also be easier as 2 day 1 yr old stopping 1 week earlier and ft 1 yr old's mum has offered to not bring every day that week as will help me. All this with still being paid (well, apart from the 2 days of 1 yr old whose stopping earlier for me).

Sorry gone on a bit, just that I was really suffering and worried how I'd get to the end and now I've only got 2 weeks and a day left and that is all pretty easy compared to usual, I'm overjoyed

kkey21 - I didn't have to mention any figures about income? Just had approval through and have a form I have to sign and send back after my last day of work.

Enjoy your break, I would love to have had more time with just ds before baby comes but ended up taking last 2 weeks before baby due (wish i'd done longer but at least I've got an easier couple of weeks at the end )

Right, best go, mindee finally woke up so time for lunch.

LT x

Best of luck tomorrow Crace! I hope you see at least one of my messages. I'd hate to think I'd forgotten you all. I'm having a browse around the boards now, finally! This work lark, is really cutting into my MN time! I'll be back to check on the rest of you later!

looneytune · 01/06/2008 08:00

Congratulations again to crace, I know I did this on another thread but forgot about here.

How you doing crace? Can you send pic(s) to info at helenslittleangels dot co dot uk? I saw something about this but can't find your email address.

AskABusyPerson - how's it going with you? You must have started back at work now?

Well, I have 1 more week of work then I'm done I'm so lucky, I've got an easy end as I decided to take one mum (of 1 yr old I have 2 days a week) up on her offer of letting me finish 1 week earlier with her dd and then on Friday, mum of other 1 yr old kindly offered for me to have 2 days off for free as she's at home now anyway So although I'm paid full time, I'm only working with that mindee Mon & Thurs (I think those are the days anyway). She always goes to granny's on a Tues which is why I'm getting 3 days off in total. So apart from ds (5) and mindee (4) after school each day, during the day I just have 5 month old and 1 yr old tomorrow, 5 month old only on Tues/Fri and just 1 yr old on Thurs meaning WEDNESDAY DAY off .

Not only am I getting these free days off, this lovely mum has been cooking meals for us on occasion and we're supposed to be having risotto for dinner tomorrow - yum

Gosh, nervous now though. Due 3 weeks tomorrow . Going to nag dh to practice blowing up and filling the birthing pool today and he needs to get more things from the loft. He has been great though and sorting lots out over the last few weeks.

Right, best go, hope everyone else is having a nice weekend

AskABusyPerson · 01/06/2008 21:18

Hello all!

Great news crace, congrats!

So far I have done 10 days of work, all of which have been counted as keeping in touch days so I still get mat allowance

kkey21 - if you pay NI then you don't have to prove income. Not sure what situ is if you don't, sorry.

Until mindee parent went on mat leave this time last year I had her dd 3 days a week, while the mum was on mat leave I had her max 2 days and usually only one, then when her ds arrived it was once a month. So to start back full on was going to be hard so I started by doing one day a week for a couple of weeks then 2 days a week, and so far it's been that, 2 days a week. From tomorrow it's 3 days a week with mindee aged 3.5y, her brother aged 10m (yes I got a variation) as well as my dd aged nearly 6, ds aged 12 weeks (that's gone fast!!) and mornings only school run mindee aged 5.

The days i've done already have been okay, though depends on how well own ds slept through night or not (some nights he does, others he's up at 3am and 5am!) but as the 3.5 yo goes to pre-school two mornings and one all day I do get a rest in the mornings as the baby brother sleeps in the mornings! Plus being a second child he's already used to not getting all the attention all the time. The thing I'm finding hard is finding the time to do accounts, look at eyfs, other cm paperwork etc! guess I could be doing them now instead of this...ds is asleep in wilkinet carrier....however this is much more interesting

The other thing is having to take the pre-school mindee to her pre-school - it's in the next village which means we all walk/buggy to school, walk back, get in the car, drive to next village, get out, take mindee in, get back in car, drive back, get back into house. A cm friend is able to stay by car while I take or collect mindee which saves me getting baby mindee and own ds out and into double buggy just to walk to/from hall & car.

Most useful thing has been the wilkinet carrier (or any front carrier/sling would do) as I can still do things with the baby mindee whilst ds is safe and comfy near me. I also put his play gym in travel cot in lounge so if he's in that I know he's safe and baby mindee cannot crawl over ds!

Oh and getting new car - updated zafira so 3 child seats fit across middle seat. In old zafira (still on the drive, as yet unsold ) I had to have child in very back meaning her getting in and out of boot with no room for double buggy - that had to go in front footwell!

Good luck and enjoy your time off ladies, for me it went too quick and I think I've started back to early but hey ho, needs must.
