@mummyof3girlsx @STEPH691 @bonz2023 my scan date is 3/11, when I spoke to them yesterday they said it’ll be last week March earliest, probably April!
Hasn’t gone to DM either 😔
I’ll be gutted if it’s declined after this long wait!

I think @Sunflower1808 can vouch for what they say on the phone is b***cks

I was told 5th March I should know last week and this morning mid March!

I'm going to follow this thread still but I'm not calling again 😀

STEPH691 · 28/02/2024 13:20

@ThemysteriousH they all tell you so many different things, it’s such a headache. I would love them to stick to the same story. What really does your head in when you can tell they haven’t even bothered looking just start counting weeks. 😂😂 xx

Make sure you do a change of circumstance for child. Then after put message in journal under payments about the DLA award and when it started and request that payments for disabled child element added and backdated.

For carers element:

Also change circumstance to state that you are now caring for someone.

Then journal entry under payments and do the same as above.

I did this and had carers element added and backdated same day. Waiting on decision maker to approve and backdate disabled child element.

Thank you very much x
Could I ask when would they backdate it from? I’ve been awarded on Monday, applied for DLA on 12 of October, my daughter has been diagnosed in June. Xx

ThemysteriousH · 28/02/2024 13:24

Yes I’ve come to that I’m not going to ring as it’s so disheartening, I just want to know!
The money would be so helpful, I’m spending a fortune on taxis to appointments and school runs etc. I know everyone’s in the same boat.
Doesn't help when they’re rude on the phone!

Emma2345 · 28/02/2024 13:24

@Kellyfoo12345 congratulations x

@bonz2023 100% b*ls*t on the phone 🤣🤣
Call date 2nd oct
Scan date 10/11
Sent extra evidence 23/01
Which i chaseds for neally 4 weeks each time them saying its taking weeks for paperwork to be scanned and i was looking at april befor i get a decision then last Tuesday a man told me he would put it as urgent as it was already with a dm and said he would call Thursday.
I couldn't wait so called Thursday at 12.30 to be told paperwork wasnt found yet i asked if it was still with a dm she said yes but they wont do anything untill yet, hung up then at 2.05 got a txt to say my son was awarded so called back and he had 🙈 didnt bother asking if the paperwork was found at this point as he got awarded what id hoped lol so decision made a day before 15 week. Back pay went in yesterday, still havent had the award letter tho, and called tax credits friday back pay will be in tomorrow x They seem to have no system and tell people all different things it was so frustrating xx

sjm100 · 28/02/2024 13:31

@Emma2345 I hope so, on monday we were still in a pile for the DM

Marie156 · 28/02/2024 13:34

susansaucepan · 28/02/2024 13:17

Has anyone received a letter telling them they are now guardians of their child's DLA and a list of responsibilities etc ?

Yes I received this the same day I received my award letter

They backdated to the start date of DLA award. This should be on the DLA letter.

Margot82x · 28/02/2024 13:43

they do say such different things 😞

last week I would have a decision by 2nd week of March,

now today is another 5 weeks wait, so I have plenty of time to send in extra evidence.

this is so frustrating

kaysash86 · 28/02/2024 13:43

Marie156 · 28/02/2024 13:03

Hi all does anyone know if this means they will backdate? Was awarded dla on Wednesday last week

You will get backdated pay to the start date

Jonesy0102 · 28/02/2024 13:45

kaysash86 · 28/02/2024 13:00

I am planning to do MR for this reason as well. Hopefully by next week I will have everything I need and can post off MR form with evidence.

I downloaded the appeal form and sent that I didn’t send anymore evidence and told them they have the original form and evidence if you send them new stuff they may not backdate the whole way and only give you the higher award your after from dates on the new evidence so tread carefully

My date is 8/01 so 7 and a little bit weeks so far. Has had any news around this date yet

I called today to tell them about a appointment we have coming up.
I'm also 8/1, lady told me aiming for 16 weeks to go to a DM. This is for a new claim

Mrslane2019 · 28/02/2024 14:11

I wouldn’t get you hopes up for 16weeks there few of us are week 17 and not even with a decision maker yet 🤦‍♀️unless they mega speed up the process

Muvva1981 · 28/02/2024 14:12

@Gemmaoscar Luckily my sons senco has made the application for eysen funding so he can have dedicated 1:1 support. They are so good with him at nursery . I do worry how he will cope in reception ( he’s a summer baby and will turn 4 literally under a fortnight before September term start ) .

question , the scan date. Is that the date they receive the form ? I’m assuming it’s that date. X

Edited

Yeah I’m at 19 weeks and still waiting and they’ve kept giving me different days about when it’ll be decided.

starting to get really anxious about it all

bonz2023 · 28/02/2024 14:21

I know it's hard for everyone but we just need to try and put it out of your minds because the info they gave you over the phone isn't correct so what's the point 😂

I think it's like when you lose something the moment you stop looking it turns up!

So everyone who is at 16 weeks + try to stop thinking about it, it will happen 🔮

mummyof3girlsx · 28/02/2024 14:22

@Mrslane2019 hopefully end is in sight for us 🤞🏼 xx

Emma2345 · 28/02/2024 14:25

I believe it goes off the day you ring also so people awarded in November with scan dates 1/11 or 2/11 excetra they likely would of been waiting since September / October from when they requested forms so although from scan date it may only be 14-15 / 16 weeks they would of been waiting all together between 18-20 weeks from requesting forms so I’m deffo looking march April as I only requested forms 13/11 & scan date is 22/11 x

Let's hope that's true because I'm almost a day off 19 weeks 😂😂😂

Emma2345 · 28/02/2024 14:31

@bonz2023 I honestly think it is I would give it till next week and ring again & I rekon it will be with DM x

OP posts:
Anxiouslywaitingmum · 28/02/2024 14:35

I don't understand how the whole system works, you are 17+ weeks waiting and not with a DM but someone posted earlier saying their 13/12 was with a DM, doesn't make sense and it's not fair on those people who have waited all those weeks already x

Gemmaoscar · 28/02/2024 14:56

@Muvva1981 yes scan date is the date they scan them on if you rang for the forms it goes from the day u rang up tho I didn’t call for mine nursery gave them too me, nursery did say they were applying for some funding after his second birthday not sure if they have tho and he does get 1-1 most of the time just not all of the time x
