I’d definitely ring about that, I had back pay through on 17th Jan and the letter was with me on 18th.

Yeah I might give them a ring then. I was awarded 26/01 and had my backpay not long after but still no letter. I’ll definitely ring. Thanks!

I originally updated on the 5th of Feb but had confirmation letters that backdate would happen on the 14th due to the circumstances. Was this the case for you? Have you had a letter confiming back pay or just over the phone? x

RainsbowandBunnies · 22/02/2024 22:08

I got separate letters for each element on Fri 16th saying they will backdate even though late rpeorting. Then message on journal today confirming it will go into bank x

Hi. Just wanting bit of advice . Heard different stories about DLA . My son who’s 17 has autism and mood disorders . Had DLA from being young . We had so many reports letters etc he was awarded HRC and LRM he moved on to pip last year and was awarded HRC AND HRM . He’s quite severe needs a lot of care etc. the question I have is around my 7 year old daughter. She’s recently been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, no where near as bad as my son. But still requires a lot of care especially around safety and her clothing (high high sensory issues) her teacher said i should apply for DLA , she will help etc . But my only thing is I don’t have loads of paperwork with her as it was very straight forward etc. is it worth applying ?

BoyMummy9696 · 27/02/2024 20:23

Hello long time lurker here,
I called for forms 4th October and received them the following week
I sent them off on 27th November (took a while to gather evidence from specialists, school and doctors)
I received a letter beginning of January to say forms were received
I received a text on Monday 12th February
I got a call on 18th February from a gentleman at dwp to go through a few of the questions and he told me I qualify and will hear soon and it will be backdated to 4th October and first payment will be either end of this week or next week.
I then received a text saying I qualify on Friday 23rd February.
I’ve just got to wait for reward letter to see what rates my son will receive but overall it was a 13/14 week wait from day I sent off forms and I’m from the kent area xx

My son sounds very much like yours and I've got a 10 year old girl that sounds like your daughter, she was awarded last week with only her one page profile,an occupational therapy report.
It's definitely worth applying

Jempeech · 28/02/2024 06:02

What was she awarded if you don’t mind me asking @eatdrinkandbemerry ? I’m not expecting the full whack but she does need supervision outside and she gets up in the night . I have a diagnosis letter and a huge form her care co ordinator sent with all the details of her observations. This confirms all the things she struggles with and they observed her lying on the ground on the way to the home observation etc. her teacher is good and she said she will write she needs support at school etc . Thanks for replying

Middle care and low mobility which I think is right for her.
Hope you get what's deserved for your daughter x

Jempeech · 28/02/2024 10:53

I expect around the same for her too. She’s not high needs but still has some that I do think she’s entitled to. Thanks for getting back to me .
