I had my back dated carers element 2 days after the journal message. The disabled child premium message was on Thursday and that is due in my bank on Monday. Was there no dates attached to the letter?

@Mrssnee16 thanks for the reply I have just had 2 messages saying they habe decided they will backdate both but nothing about how much and when it will go in x

I’ve had a message on UC after asking them to backdate both elements to October and they’ve asked me to pop into the job centre with my daughter’s award letter? But I haven’t had it yet, we had payment Wednesday doesn’t anyone know typically how long it takes to come?

I had back payment Wed and received letter yesterday x

found out why I’ve not heard anything yet…
got a letter this morn asking why my letter wasn’t returned by the 11th oct and instead they got it on 16th oct… so I think it must be with a dm with a decision made and they are waiting for me to return the letter so decide if they will backdate it to 30th aug when I called or just do it from 16th oct when they scanned it….. have put it in the post straight away so we’ll see how long it takes to hear something back!!

5/10 sent my evidence in that they had requested. Posted Thursday evening so hopefully I hear by the end of next week! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Did u tell them the reason or was reported late was u were waiting on descision due to backlog with dla and u reported it as soon as u heard

@Tammy198311 yea I asked uc if could send to dm if we were eligible for carers. I asked about 2 days after the award. And then that letter I got this week. Just confused as letter says I'm awarded and uc says I can't claim

Yes I had that aswell, keep an eye on your journal for a one like mine, I think I got mine the day after to let me know what I was owed and when I would get it x

Mines been with DM for almost 2 weeks, so not looking good!🤦‍♀️x

@Hayz0711 mine was with a decision maker for between 6-10 days I believe so don’t panic as everyone is different

I bank with monzo that shows me upcoming payments that are due and it’s showing that my back pay is due Tuesday which is my normal payday

but I’m not sure if it works like that for everyone as I assume if your awarded beginning of a month and ur payday is the end of the month they wouldn’t make you wait for the payment as the payment is issued the day your decision is made and then takes 3-5 days to hit the bank if you see what I mean , I could be wrong tho! X

just recently got an award for 18 months (new claim) when doing a renewal do you fill the form in and it continues or do you need all the evidence again also when doing a MR can you ask for award length to be considered for extension or not

@Jonesy0102 hi I’m not really sure about doing MR for award length as I never bothered to appeal mine due to age my LO is under 2 n not yet having a diagnoses your dla award will continue until the date given unless with renewal they decide your no longer intitled it’s basically a brand new form you have to fill in same questions same amount of pages but with renewal it doesn’t feel as long a wait or as worrying because your payments will still continue while they’re looking at the renewal ,, I would 100% recommend sending all old evidence you sent when you first applied and your new evidence which will then show your child’s needs have either stayed the same got worse or improved when they assess the old and new information they will then be able to compare ,,, my award rate stayed the same I recieved HRC when first applying and for renewal and again award length stayed the same which was only a 12 months award both times if my LO’s problems stay the same and again when I need to renew he is only awarded a year again I will definitely appeal the award length this time

@Claudb98 got our back payment today. Looks like HRC & HRM for 22 weeks, will ring at 9am to double check. So relieved, was already mentally preparing for MR! X

Was that from your scan date or when you called up? What was your scan date if you don’t mind me asking?
