we are in Merseyside northwest. Thanks so so much I'm so happy the wait is over, but now to wait for rates as I bet the letters take a while to come! Xx

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 20:58

The battle shouldn't this long and hard, it's such a tough time isnt it! We are under cahms and awaiting diagnosis, I sent all my daughter's hospital records and a&e admissions for the past 3.5 years. She's gone missed for so so long and I feel she's been failed for so long so this is finally our light at the end of the tunnel 💖 xx

Best of luck with your calls tomorrow @FlutterByASD @EEFO1234 😁

Thank you, hopefully a decision will have been made

mez2004 · 31/01/2024 21:16

@Gracie1909 wow congratulations on your award, my son sounds similar I’m still waiting from 26/9 hoping to hear this week and praying it’s not a decline with waiting so long. What evidence did you send if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you.

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 21:38

Hiya, I sent all her a&e admissions which detailed all episodes. Cahms letters and history of therapies and such, gp history for the past few years, she's on sleeping medication so sent details of that, school reports including all behaviours/reduced timetable, exclusions etc.. it was alot but I needed them to be aware of how we live. I'd say to anyone to send as much as possible as they really need to see the big picture of how you live. I thought it would be a decline due to no diagnosis yet. So was surprised. Hope you get your award soon 💖 xx

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 21:42

We have to keep everything locked away including sharps, cleaning products etc as high risk. I work different hours to partner so she's watched 24.7. I'm sad it's taken this long to get noticed, so many children go missed through the system. I hope all of you get what you deserve for your children, hang in there guys your all doing amazing. xx

Hi we was awarded today! Rang to request forms 5th October, scan date 25th Oct! Two letters, no texts but then received text today to say my child has been awarded, unsure of rates will ring tomorrow. Can someone please help regarding UC? Me and partner both work so not able to claim carers allowance. But unsure what I do with universal? Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanks Nd goodluck to u all, u have helped me so much! I've been a long term lurker. X

Wow glad you got that was this a new claim or change of circs thanks

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 21:53

This was a new claim, she's 14.5 and I didn't even no about DLA until recently as cahms or anyone involved didn't make me aware otherwise I would of applied a good while ago . I found out doing my own research and then applied. They don't seem to make it very known to help us along our journeys I feel x

They definitely don’t but glad you got what you deserve my scan date was 13/10 playingbthe waiting game I’m not even phoning it’s a pointless exercise

mez2004 · 31/01/2024 21:59

@Gracie1909 Wow sounds really tough, so glad you have your award. My son is diagnosed ASD waiting for ADHD assessment been waiting a year for that and suffers from bad anxiety which he is medicated for and suffers from hemiplegic migraines, which are so debilitating. Life is really tough, just praying it’s not a decline.

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 22:05

It sounds really hard I do get how you feel honestly, I wish they could see our struggles . can I ask how you got anxiety medication for your child if you don't mind? Was it from the gp? I'm struggling to get any medication for this for my daughter. I find it hard to get medication for a child were as if I was to go to my GP I could get prescribed anxiety medication instantly pretty much. It's very frustrating x

Gracie1909 · 31/01/2024 22:06

Keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

With regards to UC you habe to update your journal so they backdate it to to when the dla claim started make unsure you do this or they won’t give you it automatically

Jonesy0102 · 31/01/2024 22:11

@Gracie1909 try and find out the rates you’re on first though as the amount is much higher if your child gets the high rate care

mez2004 · 31/01/2024 22:18

@Gracie1909 He was originally on propranolol for the migraines they work for that also then they changed him to an anti-epileptic medication, but they agreed that he would stay on them though as it had helped his anxiety. He’s under a consultant for the migraines so that was who prescribed them. We would be lost without them really now.

Mothertothreeboys · 31/01/2024 22:19
