Omg such a relief awarded high rate care for 2 year old daughter ASD.. scan date 27/9 no evidence just 4 pages of my own explanation. And a photograph of her finger nails as she rips these off. I am so very shocked, when i took amelia to her first ever peadiatrician appointment the consultant said to me ‘when she is older we will help with a claim for DLA’ i said why when she is older why not now and she said ‘ohh theyl just decline it because of her age and we kno what to pit on the forms’ so i didnt tell her oh well by the way iv already put a claim in and now youv made me feel terrible n that we automatically gonna get declined but just goes to show dont b put off! B strong everyone xx

Congratulations to you and for you baby too! Seeing people like you that explain what they've sent off and the fact they got accepted gives me a little hope 🥺
Best wishes for the future to you both 💕

Just called and was told by a lovely lady it’s in the que with the case manager and should hear within 2 weeks . Scan date was 16/10 . I don’t know what to believe 😂

Nataliepb90 · 01/02/2024 14:00

I've just called with a scan date of 10th Oct and was told I should have a response week of 19th Feb and to send any extra evidence recorded delivery to make sure it gets to them in time to be looked at

Debs243 · 01/02/2024 14:23

Does anyone what the number they call you off incase they need more information? Is it a private number, 08 or 03 or an actual mobile number?

Mojo161989 · 01/02/2024 14:34

@Debs243 08000720161 this is the number the DM called me from yesterday. Finally turned over my mandatory reconsideration after 10 weeks. Xox

Debs243 · 01/02/2024 14:50

@Mojo161989 thank you.. And congratulations 🥰

WhereDidTheTimeGo888 · 01/02/2024 14:51

@Lisa3kids so sorry you’ve been declined. I think I’ll be the same. My child is 15 and I didn’t have a clue when I filled in the forms. I know I didn’t fill them in right. Hopefully it’ll be over turned when you do an MR. X

Gracie1909 · 01/02/2024 14:52

Hi, I've reported a change for my daughter on UC, I've requested back pay for her disability element and also reported I care for my child now but not claiming carers allowance. And asked for backpay for care element in my journal also. Is this right? Will someone respond to my journal. Thanks in advance. X

UsernameUnavailable12 · 01/02/2024 15:26

Hi, just wondering what an EHCP is? I’m in wales and my son has an individual development plan and an individual education plan, are these the same thing?

Mariehanna · 01/02/2024 15:29

@Gracie1909 just leave a message and ask them if updates are showing there end that’s what I did with the carers I get lwrca and recieve pip would I still get caters on universal credit?
also congrats on your reward! Xxx

My just turned 3 year old rips her toe nails off too. Horrid isn't it? I'm glad you got your award. I've not applied for her yet, she's just been referred to neurodevelopmental.

Jesslou37 · 01/02/2024 15:46

@Amycroft 2 weeks ago tomorrow I updated uc, I followed it up a week later asking if the carers element will be added on automatically and what about back pay and she said its with a dm and will keep me posted. I popped into the jobcentre and seen someone who added on the carers element to my claim

DitzySmeagol · 01/02/2024 15:48

1h38mins on hold.... our systems are updating and only some of us have access to upload new details... of course the person I got through to was not one of them 😂Told to call again next week, did say was looking around 18 weeks mark at the minute, so that'll be around12/02. Scan date 10/10

Sioned89 · 01/02/2024 16:06

Hi I have been watching the thread for a long time now and have never commented but wanted to say my son has been awarded MRC and LRM today after I rang. Scan date was 29/9. It was awarded on the 30th of Jan.

Tip for any Welsh speakers when ringing, use the Welsh option as I got through straight away to a very lovely man.

Good luck to you all.

I wouldn't hold back putting in a claim, you could potentially be missing out on extra £££ needed for your child. I kno the form is very very daunting itself and its hard to put down in words but i think the sooner you can the better, im happy to help anyone struggling with their claim who Is similar to my 2yr old daughter ASD. Plenty of examples to use xx

Lolly966 · 01/02/2024 16:17

i was just wondering do you call to find out you’ve been declined or do they send you a letter? I’ve still got along wait ahead of me yet as my scan date is 20/11 x

Ashh1998 · 01/02/2024 16:17

Hi all, was told yesterday on the phone we've been awarded on Tuesday, am I right in thinking the back pay takes 3-5 days as we haven't had a payment yet, and it looks like everyone who's been awarded has had theirs 😂

Sharniexxx7 · 01/02/2024 16:26

I was told today mine was aslo rewarded on tuesday and that payment will be in hopefully tomorrow friday or Tuesday at the latest.

Ashh1998 · 01/02/2024 16:28

@Sharniexxx7 thanks so much, just paranoid I was lied to on the phone 😂 they can't do that, can they?😂😂
