Same!! scan date 18/9 Good luck x

WorriedMother96 · 23/01/2024 11:34

First time posting on Mumsnet. Just spent an hour waiting to get through to DLA on the phone to check they'd received claim as I posted it on 28th and heard nothing, they said they received on 5th Jan, so is this my scan date? 😅

Also said they're sending me a letter asking for my son's birth certificate since he's so young? He's 2. Is this normal?

He told me 18 weeks wait so a long way to go 😫

Kirstyr0 · 23/01/2024 11:35

Hi all, First time posting but followed from November. Scan date 15/09/23 first claim, two letters two txt last txt 03/01/24. Rang today and was told it’s with a case manager and should have a decision in the next two weeks. Does that mean it’s a case manager making the decision? Thanks for any help. Fingers crossed for everyone that you get the awards you deserve for you children 🤞🏻

Liddyj · 23/01/2024 11:43

Iv just called scan date 19/9 assigned to DM yesterday praying for news soon x

Rainbow08032023 · 23/01/2024 11:52

Scan date 19.09.23, 18 weeks today

Just called and it's currently with a decision maker. I should have asked how long it's been with one...hopefully not too much longer to wait now.

Good luck everyone 🤞

Leyah2021 · 23/01/2024 11:53

Just parking scan date 21/09

Senmam · 23/01/2024 11:56

@Liddyj my scan date was 11/9 and went to dm 15/1 still no word

AndrewGarfieldsLaptop · 23/01/2024 11:58

Lottiexx3 · 23/01/2024 10:02

25/9 still waiting, trying not to call but the wait is killing me. 🤞🏻 we all hear soon x

We have the same scan date!

Lottiexx3 · 23/01/2024 12:19

have you had an update yet? I have had 2 texts and 2 letters but not been able to ring them yet.

Bearintheredhat · 23/01/2024 12:36

@WorriedMother96
Yes, it’s perfectly normal to be asked for a birth certificate, and it’s not because he is so young, they just seem to require it sometimes (not sure why).

And yes, your scan date is when your paper claim was logged into there system.

Your letter confirming this will probably say there is a 15 week wait, the advisors will tell you that there is anything from 18-22 weeks to wait. All I can say is that they seem to be getting though September faster than other months…although that’s not particularly fast.

Yes! I’m 13\9 rang Thursday and was told it was with a case manager and then today I received a payment😂 had no idea she had been awarded as it was only last Thursday so she must of been awarded the day I rang

Bearintheredhat · 23/01/2024 12:40

@Kirstyr0
The term decision maker or DM is used by some advisors, others use Case Manager (CM), it’s the same person.

I believe they have four weeks once the paperwork hits their desk, although most don’t take that long. Some are fast, some are slow. I guess it depends on how over-worked they are?
Some use text to tell you the outcome, others don’t.

Liddyj · 23/01/2024 12:51

@Senmam i hope you hear soon as much as I wanted it to go to a DM my anxiety is now through the roof waiting for an answer even more x

Kaz87 · 23/01/2024 13:04

Yes it is your scan date. Mine was recieved on the 4th of Jan but I sent it on new years eve and I only received a letter that confirmed they got my forms.

Dizzylizzy91 · 23/01/2024 13:13

Scan date 13/09 I called last Thursday and was in the queue for DM. Today the DM called me to see why my forms where a over a week late. I blamed it on the bank Holiday at the end of August which is true as to why it didn't get there. She said she's making a decision today!

Mum2threeplus2bonuskids · 23/01/2024 13:18

i tried to call this morning, but the automated system advised not to chase until 20 weeks have passed. Scan date 15/09 so I’m only just over 18 weeks….im going to try and hold off calling until week 20, but I just want to know now.

A Case Manager is a lower grade than a Decision Maker. DWP basically brought in Case Managers to help DMs with the backlog of cases.

Claudb98 · 23/01/2024 13:25

@Hayz0711 same scan date as me for a coc. Same situation 2 letters no text, good luck x

Rainbow08032023 · 23/01/2024 13:30

I've just had a call from a decision maker asking me to confirm something. She then told me she will send the decision in the post today.
I have a feeling it's a decline as my child's case is very complex and unusual.

Scan date 19.09, 18 weeks today.
I called just before midday for an update and was told it was with a DM so I'm not sure if phoning this morning pushed things along.

MummyMas82 · 23/01/2024 13:40

Couldn’t resist calling again 😂
My beautiful girl got HRC but cannot get mobility until June when she is 3. This amazes me because what 2 1/2 year old cannot walk unless there is an issue? So why on earth it’s 3 is beyond me but…. The back pay from DLA and UC, is insane

Congrats @MummyMas82 👏 will you have to reapply for mobility in June or will they automatically update your claim?

Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it and congratulations on your award I hope it’s the award you wanted ☺️ fingers crossed it’s not long for me now then 🤞🏻

MummyMas82 · 23/01/2024 13:46

@FlutterByASD so the lovely man I spoke to this morning is sending the forms out today. He warned me of the backlog and estimated it’s around 19/20 weeks for it to be looked at 🙄 but luckily, that’s a week or two before P’s birthday 🙏🏼

Kirstyr0 · 23/01/2024 13:50

Thank you so much for your reply, that’s put my mind at ease fingers crossed I get a decision very soon. Fingers crossed for you too 🤞🏻

Hayz0711 · 23/01/2024 13:54

@Claudb98 out of curiosity what timescales did the letters say? Good luck to you too x
