Well I finally got through and he couldn’t tell me much! Just that it’s in a queue and I should get a decision by March. Scan date 21/09. I’m sure they make it up as they go along depending on who you speak too! That was my first time calling, and really don’t think I’ll bother again lol

Amycroft · 25/01/2024 14:12

I really think they have to juat say the worst case because there's people are your scan date that have been awarded! It's genuinely just if your case has been lucky enough to be placed on a quick dms desk I guess🤷🏼‍♀️ it should really all go in date order but it's not and this is what's making everyone so annoyed!

Thenoseymother · 25/01/2024 14:15

Yes, I’ve seen quite a few around my date so that’s why I thought I’d ring and find out if it’s at least with a DM. Wish I hadn’t bothered as I’m none the wiser 🤣 I also asked about a text message when a decision has been made, and he said no we only send letters lol

LMummy38 · 25/01/2024 14:27

I couldn't wait and rang.
She's got hrc and lrm.
Does anyone know what I do with UC and how to ask for back pay.
Also how to add carers element not allowance as I earn to much for that.
Thankyou ❤️

Lolly966 · 25/01/2024 14:31

Lmummy38 congratulations! If you don’t mind me asking when was your scan date?

also I’ve updated a photo to help you update your UC also I’ve seen a lot of people saying that you’ve got a put a note on your journal asking for the elements to be backdated which goes under payments x

That’s fine also, i believe it just gets scanned on the system quicker if sent special delivery which is useful if you are close to them making a decision. Xx

LMummy38 · 25/01/2024 14:42

That's great, thankyou. Where do I ask for a back date of payment is that on the journal?
It was scanned 22/9 and had a text this morning. Xx

Lolly966 · 25/01/2024 14:46

Lmummy38 you’re welcome! Yeah you ask for the backdate on your journal which you’d write under payments just saying your daughters been rewarded and you’d like the disability element and caters element to be be backdated which I think it’s from the date you rang up for your forms that you put on there☺️

still waiting for a decision for my daughter but seen loads of times online that’s the way you ask for it to be backdated xx

My scan date is after yours and I was told yesterday that it will be with a DM in the next week? Tbh I think they tell people it will take longer so you're not ringing up everyday.

I think I got unlucky with the guy I spoke too, he told me I was 15 weeks, I corrected him and he recounted and said oh yes you’re right! So really don’t think he had a clue

ForgedInFire · 25/01/2024 15:04

Hi, I've only just sent my form off at the beginning of last week (special delivery) should I have got a message to say it has been received as I haven't heard anything? Do I need to call for a scan date and how long should I wait before doing that please. I realise I have a long wait ahead of me but I just want to make sure there's no hiccups

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 25/01/2024 15:11

If they ask for birth certificate, can they accept copies. Only as I'm sending my son's passport application off next week and they might need the birth certificate too

Lolly966 · 25/01/2024 15:43

ForgedInFire you normally get a letter a few weeks after sending them off but if you don’t get one then ring them up to ask if they’ve received your forms and then ask what date they received it and it’ll be your scan date

LMummy38 · 25/01/2024 15:46

Thankyou. Think I've done it correctly although I might ring tomorrow as I'm sure at first I added she's just moved in with me 🥴.
Good luck with yours, hopefully it's quick. I've been in shock since finding out was expecting another week or 2. Thanyou for help xx

i sent originals which actually got lost with all the Xmas post. So I took a second copy of their birth certificates to the job centre who photocopied it and stamped the photocopy to verify that it is a true copy of the original and I sent those off for DLA but did special delivery this time.

whats odd is, the first originals I sent them, I just sent back to them without doing any recorded and for both kids, I sent separately. Both got lost? They were sent of diff occasions.

soon as u do a special delivery, recorded or signed for… it seems to be scanned within a few days and on the system. Won’t be making that mistake again for any docs!

Lolly966 · 25/01/2024 15:52

Lmummy38 it’s okay! No problem at all! Oh nooo haha I’m sure they’re used to mistakes like that tbf!🤣 I’ll probably be the same as you if my DD gets rewarded! Bet you’re so relieved now the waits over!

thank you! I’m only in nearly 10 weeks waiting so still got a wait ahead! Xx

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 25/01/2024 15:56

I'm only on week 3 so maybe I'll do passport first and then do birth certificate because mine isn't going to be looked at for weeks yet!!

Ashh1998 · 25/01/2024 16:21

Hi all, what's the address for special delivery? Thank you

eatdrinkandbemerry · 25/01/2024 16:50

I'm on about week 12 .
I've received lots of good reports with needs written on from Ed psych and paediatrician today.
Already sent lots of evidence but do you think it's too late to send copies of these to help my daughters application.

Naylor19 · 25/01/2024 17:00

@eatdrinkandbemerry i’m sending more evidence tomorrow and I’m on week 15, I’m just going to send next day special delivery to make sure it gets there in time!

Jesslou37 · 25/01/2024 17:13

@BrizzleMum84 I wrote in my journal on Friday, had a reply within the hour saying it will go to a decision maker. Had a thing in my to do list about wether my daughter needs a bedroom to herself, which she does anyway as brother is older than her so can't share. Asked to change my appointment date to review my minimum income floor 2 days ago and still nothing. Seen some people say they had a reply and money back dated within a few days so who knows

Sarahdestiny · 25/01/2024 17:25

Scan date 4/10 the wait is driving me crazy now .. 16 weeks hopefully no longer than 2 weeks to go ...hoping its not a decline also hoping get awarded the right rate 🙏 #worried driving me bat crazy never checked for the postman so much or my bank account also waiting by my phone constantly hoping for a text or a phone call !! Just want it to be over 😕

Not seen many getting awarded today anyone been awarded for october yet ? X

BrizzleMum84 · 25/01/2024 17:28

@Jesslou37 thanks for the reply. It's just another wait isn't it when you wait so long for a diagnosis, so long for the DLA and then waiting for UC. It's a constant wait, fight and frustration. Hopefully we both hear something back soon. Why did they ask about bedrooms, that's so odd.

Jesslou37 · 25/01/2024 17:41

@BrizzleMum84 I've no idea. Didn't even come through to my emails, just happened to log on over the weekend and it was there for me to do. Asked if anyone comes to stay overnight to watch her, said no then asked does she need a bedroom of her own due to her disability I said no as they know the ages of my children and know by law they can't share. Very odd. Fingers crossed we hear back soon
