Linacre96 · 28/12/2023 13:38

Do you think that maybe these’holding que’ is like they split so many claims up for each DM then the holding piles are for each dm to pick up once they’ve gone threw the last one that’s why some are getting done quicker then others

RaychieBee · 28/12/2023 13:38

Ont know if I should just give up and try at 9am tomorrow 😂

RaychieBee · 28/12/2023 13:39

@Linacre96 i was told the holding queue meant it's not even been assigned to a dm yet

2010crazyboymum · 28/12/2023 13:42

funinthesun19 · 28/12/2023 14:31

Just spoken to them and it’s not been sent to a DM yet. Another couple of weeks she said. Scan date 23/08. I was on the phone for a total of 1 hour 51 minutes. Xx

Luevzamum · 28/12/2023 15:30

@KeepGoingThomas hi, my son is offered a lot more tutouring than he actually gets but can only manage 2x1 hour sessions each week because of his refusal to do anything and how much he will kick off about them coming. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that he won’t go school ever again. He’s 13. I’m waiting to hear about an EOTASS which even if he gets I’m still not sure he would attend. He can’t be forced as he’s getting bigger now and has done and will do attack me if I was to keep on and on at him. He definitely won’t be able to cope with GCSEs and is working way below this level anyway, so wouldn’t know what he was doing. I’ll be honest education is not the most important thing for my child. I know it sounds pathetic but I just want him to be a person who will be ok mentally amongst other people and not to be agressive with people. He tells me all the time he will kill me when he’s older and I probably believe him. He’s not very remorseful for the injuries he’s caused me and I know a lot of people wouldn’t be able to cope with a child like him. But at the end of the day he’s my son and I won’t give up on him. I love him to pieces and education is something that i think isn’t as important as getting him to be a part of society without him being a threat to anyone. Does this make sense to everyone. I just don’t know what to do for the best.

KeepGoingThomas · 28/12/2023 15:47

@Luevzamum provision (both s19 provision and EOTAS) doesn’t have to be tuition. It doesn’t have to have an academic focus - in fact, it would be very poor if that was the only, or at this point even main, aim. It can be whatever is suitable for DS. For example, does if he enjoys gaming it could be based on that, it could include therapies, it could include resources/equipment for home.

Luevzamum · 28/12/2023 16:58

@KeepGoingThomas that is something my son wil do for 12 hours a day if not more. He just sits at his pc either on roblox or studio which is designing games, he can do this for hours and hours. He extremely bright when it comes to IT. I’ll be honest I’m
not sure what is available out there for my son. I have to have a CIN meeting every 3 months then after that I get random colleges and schools phoning asking if we want to go for a visit but I know he won’t go. I want him to have friends and be outside the house for a few hours a day as he won’t leave the house for anything other than to go for a drive. Everything is extremely hard work with him. He won’t go out in public anymore and the way he kicks off I’d rather he stay home anyway. I don’t know what he’s entitled to at all

SENASD · 28/12/2023 17:12

Anyone know what time the phone lines shut?

StephXx1 · 28/12/2023 17:16

@SENASD 17:00 it will cut you off at 17:30 xxx

SENASD · 28/12/2023 17:24

2hrs and 20mins worth the wait, HRC, was expecting MRC so I'm happy. Being back paid from Aug when I sent forms in and awarded till Jan 25.

Linacre96 · 28/12/2023 17:34

@SENASD what was your scan date please? Congratulations on the result x

2010crazyboymum · 28/12/2023 17:35

@SENASD well done!! That's one less stress to take into the new year.

RaychieBee · 28/12/2023 17:41

@SENASD congratualtions 🥰

KeepGoingThomas · 28/12/2023 17:42

@Luevzamum if DS likes gaming there are lots of options. Gaming is often a way in with teenage boys. For online provision look at Mindjam. Depending on where you live there may be in person gaming alternative provision within travelling distance. To give you an idea of the types of things I mean have a look at Overworld Esports Academy in Surrey, Tubers Academy in the south west, Geeks Room in Leeds, Imbue ventures in Derby. If DS gets to a point something slightly more formal is appropriate, Minerva virtual academy has an Esports BTEC. You could also look at technology and a budget for gaming resources.

If DS likes going for a drive would he like to learn to drive himself? Some DC with EOTAS have a budget for young drivers lessons.
