@Willowblake 01/08? Wow that's a long time!
Can't believe that they're doing some September dates and your still at the beginning of August! 😓😓😓

Willowblake · 04/01/2024 15:50

@RaychieBee yeah 22 weeks now....wasn't gonna call again cos it drains me everytime they say its still with a DM.....been with one for a month now....but this is why I like this group, its not so lonely knowing there loads of other parents that understand this struggle x

that's so bad, they need to be doing them as close to order as possible and maybe if there is to much influx stop new claims for a month or 2 until they've caught up, im waiting for this claim so i can put my youngest daughters forms in because she asd and mute but she was diagnosed last year too and i just dont think i could cope with both at the same time. the anxiety is shocking. hoping you get your response soon.

That wouldn't work, when they opened up claims again they would get 2 months of applications sent in a week and would be back to square one really quickly.

More decision makers are needed.

RaychieBee · 04/01/2024 16:05

@Willowblake i don't understand why it would take a month to come to a decision! Are you planning on phoning tomorrow?

Hi, I’m not 100% sure. They might ask you to reapply for the mobility part when he turns 5. Or because it’s so close they might award you from when he turns 5. I would just ring them and make sure.

When I applied for my DS first time in 2017, he was only 4 so didn’t qualify for mobility. At the time I didn’t realise I could apply for the mobility once he turned 5 the following year. It was only when I did his renewal in 2022 that I realised 🤦🏼‍♀️. So potentially he missed out on quite a bit of money. Thankfully he was awarded both care and mobility when I renewed his claim.

So if they don’t award your Ds the mobility part, definitely apply when he turns 5! Don’t do what I did lol. It’s a pain having to reapply though I know. Hopefully they will award him the mobility from April and use your current application.

Thank you for replying to me.
That's what I'm hoping for, I would completley understand them not backdating the mobility side and would be happy if they start his mobility claim from April. I just don't want to have to fill in all the forms etc again so soon, but if that's what we have to do then we will do that.

Willowblake · 04/01/2024 16:09

@RaychieBee madness ain't it! I'm on hold right now 1hr 10 mins in so will update ya with what nonsense they tell me ha

RaychieBee · 04/01/2024 16:14

mumto3withasd · 04/01/2024 16:18

Amy2606 · 04/01/2024 16:37

Hi,

we finally had my sons claim approved over Christmas and but they’ve only backdated to the scan date. Has anyone had any luck challenging this? Or know the process?

This groups been a god send the last few weeks of waiting and I don’t know if it’s worth the hassle if they’ll just ignore me

LM15 · 04/01/2024 16:37

Do you still receive the awarded DLA benefit if you ask for a MR or would you not get any money until a decision is made on the MR?

Babzie · 04/01/2024 16:40

There have been a few people awarded today. Last couple of pages will show details.

Willowblake · 04/01/2024 16:43

@RaychieBee just got off the phone now, still with a decision maker but she's gonna send an email to them....I give up at this point 🤣

mumto3withasd · 04/01/2024 16:45

hello, when i did my sons claim as far as i was aware as long as the form was sent back intime then it was to the day it was requested which is stamped on the form its usually only the scan date if the form was late, hope this helps. i would give them a call and make sure the scan date isnt later than the time limit stated on the front of the form x

Liddyj · 04/01/2024 16:45

RachelWa · 04/01/2024 16:57

Ilovemychildren123 · 04/01/2024 16:58

@Keddie I don’t blame you. What’s your MR date? X

Keddie · 04/01/2024 16:59
