S1llySal2 · 15/12/2023 14:28

Mum2onebeauifulgirl · 15/12/2023 14:47

Lauren2121 · 15/12/2023 14:54

@Looloo12332 hiya, I called Tuesday and they said it wasn’t with cm yet and would be 3-5 weeks before a decision then called yesturday and they said my daughter was awarded Wednesday but I’ve seen other days upto 5 days, massive good luck to you x

Mariannec · 15/12/2023 14:54

@ARH36
-report a change
-children and other people that live with you

  • select relevant child and choose correct options

if you need to report you are now a carer -

  • report a change
  • Caring for someone
  • select options relevant to you

leave a message on your journal requesting disabled child element / carers element are added to your claim moving forward and request backpayment from award date (if relevant)

Lauren2121 · 15/12/2023 14:57

Hiya I’ve now reported a change to say my daughter gets dla but I’m not sure about the carers part as I earn over £139 but someone said about carers element rather then carers allowance but i have no idea how it works, does anyone know about this x

2010crazyboymum · 15/12/2023 15:08

@Lauren2121 the carers element is on your UC and you need to request it to be backdated.
Carers element is a whole other benefit that then gets deducted from your UC anyway.

Lauren2121 · 15/12/2023 15:10

okay Thankyou I’ve asked for the disability element to be backdated but is this sepetate to the carers element? Do I need to request both to be backdated, Thankyou for your help x

2010crazyboymum · 15/12/2023 15:27

@Lauren2121 yes you need to ask for both elements to be added and backdated.
Uc are clever in they won't add it unless you ask!

cocoapple · 15/12/2023 15:39

I’m just in the middle of updating uc…when it asks when the change happened do they mean when I rang for the forms or when the claim had been awarded

Sammumof2 · 15/12/2023 15:41

Scan date 11/8 called Monday they were useless so I’m braving it again today so far 50 mins on hold hopefully find something out today it’s exhausting

Lauren2121 · 15/12/2023 15:46

okay Thankyou so much for your help x

Lauren2121 · 15/12/2023 15:48

@cocoapple you have to put the date they are back dating it from, so if they said they will date from the date you called for the forms you put that date otherwise they will only back date from award date, congratulations on your award x

cocoapple · 15/12/2023 15:56

@Lauren2121 Brill thank you☺️x

doingmybest23 · 15/12/2023 16:02

Anne92 · 15/12/2023 16:23

I sent my daughters off on 24/8 what's the chance of it being done before new years? I've just been cut off after 1hr 21 mins 😭 have never been able to get through for an update

Sammumof2 · 15/12/2023 16:54

My daughter’s claim is 23/8. In all honesty I think it might end up being after new year now, or maybe those 3 or 4 days in between Christmas and new year if we’re lucky. But with them being closed over Christmas it might put us behind a few days.

Casslou22 · 15/12/2023 17:44

Case manager rang me today such a lovely guy asked a few questions said he was hoping to make a decision today ... and to ring up Monday to find out rates ect ... he did say tho it sounds like my lb has high care needs but can't promise that ... Will be 18 weeks Monday 🥳
