DLA Wait times part 24

Continuing on from part 23 as it was getting full

3-5 working days. I was awarded on Wednesday and the person I spoke to said that it should be in the account on Monday. So it wouldn’t come today basically

I know, I wasn’t expecting it. I called on Tuesday to ask if it was worth sending more evidence I’d finally been given, she was really kind and said it’s always worth it, and gave me the address, and also said his application was with a decision maker and she emailed her to tell her I was sending more evidence. It was something from his SENCO, because I had no evidence from school

I got answered after only 20 minutes on hold.. miracle!

I rang and the women was lovely, she said there is 6 holding ques, mine is at number one which is next to be seen, she said they have 4 thousand new claims a day, and there is over 80 thousand to be looked at, so when they say we are in holding que to been seen they never tell us how many there is. Hopefully soon for everyone

On hold for 40 mins today spoke to a guy who didn't really have a clue....told me 21 weeks. Then told me it was received on the 12th Sept which I queried because my letter says 18th Aug ... He then changed his mind and said oh yes 18th Aug. I asked if I would be backdated once it finally comes and he said no....Then he changed his mind to say yes it would !! He said it hadn't yet been allocated to anyone and it should be first week in Feb! Get the impression he was just picking random dates from the air!!!

Congratulations! My dates are all the same as yours but I think I’ll have another 2 or 3 weeks of waiting left yet. 😌 x

Mines still with a case manager ... managed to get through ... should hear something either today or over weekend as the cm works weekends I'm opted in for texts ... if I don't hear by Monday to call back :) 14/8 scan date

I also called them this morning- a waste of time. Told another 2 to 3 weeks wait still to go!

So a manager just called me back she was lovely Said she's marked mine as urgent and she can't guarantee it will be done today but within the next few days . She wants it done before Christmas. Said because they got it late once I get awarded write them a letter and explain I want it backdated to when I called to apply because I definitely sent it in time and they will look into it . Scan date 18/8

Scan Date: 01-09-2023

Called this morning and had to wait 1h 5 mins to update claim as so much has happened and changed since the initial claim went in. The lady said they are 21 days behind she said I should have a decision made by the 23rd January.
So think I'm just going to try and forget about it till then and try to enjoy Xmas just anxiety and worry Is awful right now 😳.

@cocoapple so so happy for you, I'm calling again only because the guy spoke to this morning his computer signed him out, I mentioned I would just like 2 know as he only does half days he laughed and said we all wish that, I said well not really with his education is affected and logged him out again, then said January, I was like ok thanks it's an emotional roler coaster good luck to everyone waiting xx

rang today scan date 25/8 said be another couple of weeks had to go through lots of security which i haven’t had to do before

Is anyone still waiting from scan date 8/8 mines been with a DM since Tuesday and no decision has been made yet xx

They told me I shouldn't be calling before 20-21 weeks. I said ik but the letter says 15. Quite a nice lady. She said hopefully next week depending on if the DM has to contact any other agencies

I just received a text saying my son qualifies for DLA. Is such a relief...has been a stressful journey, so glad everything ended well. Thank you so much to all of you for this chat and the support and info shared. Whe n Women get together great things are happening. Good luck to all those that are still waiting xx

@zoedavis123 me too, including what other benefits our household gets, it freaked me out a bit (but all dealings with the DWP do, it’s horrible)

For those who been awarded and on universal credit, had updated universal credit about disabled elements and severely disabled elements had message today to say gone to be review so what happens after that please

In reguards to UC in 2022 when i claimed for my sons disabled child element (was already claiming carers element for my disabled terminally ill mom) it took from april 25th to may 24th to reach a decision and backdate the payment. Obviously we are coming into christmas now so could take longer but iv just updated my sons on there as his DLA changed i changed it 4 days ago so will let you know if i hear any more as iv raised the question with them :) i did read someones was delt with within 3 days recently

Just spoke to a lovely man called Stephen- my 2 claims was sent the exact same time yet scanned 4 weeks apart. He said he’s making a note on the later scan date so the decision maker can look into when my 1st was received and might back pay from then if awarded. Extra evidence that I sent 2 weeks ago still hasn’t been attached and he couldn’t find it on the systems but overall he was super helpful.said to call back when they re open after Christmas to chase the evidence. Scan date 28/09 & 30/10

Hi, new posting but been keeping an eye on the thread, my scan date 10/08 but it’s with a DM now, they called me this morning to confirm by bank details as something was wrong. Will this mean my DD will have been awarded? Very new to this world and it’s super stressful.

@S1llySal2 sounds like you have been awarded to me, I would call back this afternoon to ask for an update x I got through in 43 mins today x

@mumtumok I’m trying to get through now, I should have just asked but they caught me off guard and I got a bit flustered! I’ve prepared myself for a decline, hopefully I’m wrong! Thanks lovely :)
