DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

Following on from part 21 as it is about to become full! 😊

Just called for update but message said don't stay on line if it's less that 20 weeks. Scan date 8th August. Letter said 15 weeks. Has anyone ignored the message and stayed on the line? 😊

@Mummynic725 fight all the way your dd should get what she deserves 😤 makes me angry who would want to go through all this stress and anixty for theor little ones to be told no your child is not disabled enough basically.Im so sorry this makes me so angry.I can see my dd getting a decline us parents/caregivers must keep fighting to give children the voice they don't have!You can go to your dr and pay a fee and they will put everything in a supporting letter for you Goodluck please keep us updated!

@TiredFairy I tried calling this morning but didn't have enough time to stay on hold, I'm not at 20 weeks yet so would have ignored it 😂

My scan date was 16th July. I have been awarded high care low mobility. I have not received a letter yet I know because I have received payment. Goodluck to all waiting

I have been on hold for 2 hours and 10 minutes and I have a feeling I won't be getting through this evening

Well the next wait, I applied for my 2 year old son he’s non verbal, apparently have development of a 1 year old, sent in letter from nursery, health visitor, paediatrician.. he’s been refered for speech therapy, physiotherapist and community paediatrician his scan date 1st September so probably hear in January

Received a text today to say my child qualifies, will call tomorrow to check rates.

What is going on with this system it makes u feel sick every day. I just pray they say yes. Scan date 21/7 I feel like the more I see my dates and above be awarded. That it’s seems am gonna get a decline. I don’t have a clue how it works do u get an answer faster if it’s a decline or same time frame as a award ??? X

I’m still doubting what she said on the phone for mine as I have had no txt, no letter yet & no backpay. This whole process has had me doubting myself the whole way through

i hate the feeling I’ve not called today !!!! I’ve not been able to look on here my daughter isn’t too good. I don’t know if u have been awarded yet ??? I just pray we do get a YES xxx

I’m getting so nervous because it would make such a difference to DS if we were awarded😖 urgh I hate this wait lol

I literally said to my husband I feel like the whole phone wait is not fit for purpose atm, u would think there would b an option for progress updates online & it would also save them having to answer a million phone calls per day

@MammyAng84 it does seem the longer it goes on everyone doubts it. I feel worries as someone said it just depends on who looks at ur form. That they don’t have to go off the guide. If they went off the guilde I should get hrc and hrm for 5 years. Then no change till she’s 16 my little one has drug resistant epilepsy and has lots of status epilepticus seizures. Which are the worst a child can get. Like last night she had a seizure in her sleep thank god it didn’t go on to long. I don’t sleep watching her night after night. I don’t know how I even function. Plus having them in her sleep put her at a greater risk of SUDEP. Am having CBT therapy to help me cope better it’s soo hard to see her like this all the time. X

@Mumofepilepsy sane scan date as me, all I can think of is that we’re in a totally different pile to everyone else and it’s someone that works part time, it’s soul destroying seeing later dates than ours, I’m happy for them but so annoyed with the system

@Mumofepilepsy Nothing yet, it's driving me insane, 19 weeks on Wednesday, it's not fair to go to all this effort for them to take so long to decide.

When I called last Tuesday it was with DM so assuming if I ring it'll have been decided. I am going to call tomorrow, just say I have more evidence to send and ask about it. Hope I don't get anyone rude. The man I spoke to last week was monotone but nice enough.

@ASDmum1m Congrats!! Same text dates as me except my scan date is 31/7. Hopefully that's a good sign for me.

I might call tomorrow it’s just that build up while ur calling. Then to be told it’s not even with a DM. Plus I realised I’ve made a big mistake I stapled the extra paper to the pages what I didn’t know is that they scan them I didn’t write my daughters name nothing on them. I didn’t know thankfully I did take pics of everything I wrote. 😞

@MangoPepsiLover @Mumofepilepsy do you think they’re looking for more evidence to support our claims to see if our children do need the extra support, making phone calls etc?

@Louboo09 ive not got a clue all I know is I sent so much evidence in. It seems to me some ppl get awarded with next to evidence I don’t know about ur claim but all I know is my daughter is at risk of sudep every time she goes to sleep just by having epilepsy and more of an increase as she has them in her sleep aswell. Every time she’s had status is at risk of brain damage I hate saying the next word but it can be fatal. I have emergency meds that I have to give her. Sometimes they don’t work and 999 has to be called. They give her more and she still doesn’t come out of it. Then doesn’t come round for up to 2 hours. So if they refuse me am up for tribunal am not stopping x

Has anyone called for forms and returned within the time frame and not been backdated from the phone call? X
