Hi I'm just wondering how long it takes UC to agree to backdate and then actually pay backdate. I updated over 2 weeks ago. They have updated my claim for this month but I've heard nothing about the backdated money at all. Anyone any idea of wait times?

Mummyof5kiddos · 19/11/2023 23:11

@Sabz30 I’m 19/7 too, I was told I will hear something next week 🤞

Billie1993 · 19/11/2023 14:44

@Asdmummyhere i was just about to wake @Mummyrach13 the same thing, as in the 15th I informed them that my girl is now in receipt of HRC, on the 18th I receive a message to say she’s been verified and they’re sending it to see if it can be backdated and I asked how long the process takes to then receive a message today to say “Hi
There is no exact timeframe when a decision has been made, they will update you in the journal.”

so I was wondering if @Mummyrach13 has heard anything through UC too x

They are so annoying! This is literally the message I got and this was regarding them having on my uc statement this month that I earnt £1028 when I earnt £422! So I am hundreds down just for money to live on this month and they still just give that reply! I reported it being wrong on the 10th 😮‍💨 xxx

We sent in a renewal which arrived on 24/10. Got notification it was received on Thursday and award letter (till DS is 16, he's nearly 12) yesterday. He gets MR care and LR mobility but frankly we think they just weighed the last renewal and this one and said "yeah, no change".

Mummyrach13 · 19/11/2023 23:44

@Raych1989 i updated mine 3 weeks ago and still nothing, they just say there’s no time scale for it to be looked at x

@Mummyrach13 Thank you. I'll update if I hear anything. I was hoping this week I might hear something. Probably not. I'm hoping it will be before Xmas x

Mummyrach13 · 19/11/2023 23:56

@Raych1989 im the same I’m super organised and just want to get things sorted else I wouldn’t be bothered by it. It’s just frustrating that it seems to differ for everyone. Let us know if you hear anything xx

@Mummyof1B1G congratulations on your award! Glad the wait is over for you, what is your scan date please x

Helentwinsplus1 · 20/11/2023 01:22

Another night of stretching my son's legs to ease pain. Wouldn't mind but we've not left the house in 6 days because he's been poorly and had a training day.

He's got NHS physio on Thursday. I'm dreading it because parking at the big hospital is such a nightmare and neither of us can walk far so it's going to have to be a case of parking up at a retail park and ubering the rest of the way. It drives me mad

Could really do with him to be awarded and to receive backpay by then. I've also got to take him for a blood test whilst we are there so it's going to be a long day and if I can promise him something to distract him it would be a big help!

HelloNeighbour2021 · 20/11/2023 06:24

My scan date 19/7, hope I get the decision this week!

Clairexdx · 20/11/2023 06:42

I’m 14/7 and still waiting. It’s over 18 weeks and my anxiety is through the roof. Going to try and hold off on calling today x

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 06:45

Is anyone calling today?

RosiesMummyx · 20/11/2023 06:58

Hi all x
I’ve been watching this thread for a while,
decided to finally be brave & post today.
My scan date is 14/7 called Friday and was told it has been with a DM since Wednesday. Will be 19 weeks on Friday. The waiting is awful, but it fills me with dread as my daughter has a really rare genetic condition which doesn’t come with much information unfortunately and she is only 7 months old, but is NG fed and has developmental delay, so it fills me with dread for a decline. X

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 07:26

@Helentwinsplus1 hello I'm in the same postion as you with my son either in a wheel chair or on crutches due to his legs condition up during the night lots of day care and night care my son has nhs physio and they either go to his school or home isn't that a possibility for you to make it easier? Xx

Mumofasdadhd · 20/11/2023 07:30

Can someone help? …. One of my children are already getting DLA. I am on universal credit. I dont get carers element due to being on limited capability.
Is carers allowance a waste of time? Someone told me they pay it but deduct from the universal credit so its pointless?
If anyone can shed some light i would be grateful.
also waiting scan date 24/7

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 08:03

@Mumofasdadhd I too currently claim DLA for 2 of my children who are both non verbal with ASD and significant developmental delays. I currently claim carers as well as carers element, because I have my carers allowance paid to me weekly it works for me. It keeps me topped up till my next universal credit payment.

Sskanf · 20/11/2023 08:16

Good luck to all those calling today

How long does it take to receive the backpay payment for DLA I was told a decision had been made on Wednesday and payment was sent out midnight

Sskanf · 20/11/2023 08:21

@Krys83 sorry to jump on..I was told by an adviser the carers allowance works as an income and debuts universal credit?

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 08:28

Check on entitledto.co.uk they are good at working out what you will get

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 08:32

Good luck to anyone calling today 🤞 I am praying you all get awarded.
How long have those awarded waited for the backdated DLA? I was told 3-5 days and I was warded on Friday but just wanted to check if that is actually the case?

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 08:35

@Sskanf just seen your comment and yeah I’m wondering same thing. I know standard bacs takes 3/5 working days but curious as to when people have actually received as it does vary from bank to bank I believe

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 08:40

@Sskanf yea it does actually. They do take some off universal credit each month

Lilbear18 · 20/11/2023 08:49

I don't know whether to call today or not. I'm hoping to hear this week.

Scan date was 21/07

Ollysmomma · 20/11/2023 08:51

Scan date 18/7

Morning everyone. There’s quite a few of us from around mid to late July still waiting. Hopefully we get some positive answers this week!

I was thinking to hold off till tomorrow at 18 weeks..not sure I can hold out.. want to know if evidence has been scanned on yet!

Amy92x · 20/11/2023 09:03

28/7 I'm thinking it will be next week for me 🙄... Good luck ladies hope we see many more awards 👌
