I’m calling. 18 weeks 3 days. Scan date 14/7. Last text 9/10. So tired of the waiting now x

Mdavies2023 · 20/11/2023 09:11

Scan date 20/07 called Thursday said should be this week. 18 weeks on Thursday. Good luck to anyone before me still waiting it's so hard the wait and then seeing people ahead being awarded, although very happy for them as well at the same time.

CHS100288 · 20/11/2023 09:12

I'm the same scan date! Iv just tried calling and keep getting cut off 😩

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 09:17

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 09:19

@CHS100288 block your number Hun, kept happening to me last week and someone on here said to block it and sure enough call went through. X

Hardingcl · 20/11/2023 09:19

Aaarrghhh called 5 times and keep getting cut off!!! Praying for a positive news this week. Scan date 18/7

Helentwinsplus1 · 20/11/2023 09:21

I don't know at the moment. He has hypermobility and the muscles around his hips are really loose. We saw a private physio 6 months ago and we've followed her advice but it's getting worse so he's had an x-ray which was ok and we're seeing the hospital physio this week. There's 2 kids who have physio at school but they are under community health and paediatrics and I don't know if they'll see my son. They've bounced 2 referrals already.

Other than fatigue and tripping over his feet because he intoes and has hypermobile ankle joints (he has piedros), his walking is ok. It's more the sensory processing stuff from his autism causing him to shut down that's a problem. I'm really struggling with his pushchair now and I need to find something with a push bar rather than handles because it's killing my wrists.

He's got no sense of personal space either and going out anywhere is just a nightmare.

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 09:22

As @Krys83 says call from a withheld and also call using 4G not wifi incase its signal. If it’s cutting off after the automated service but before you get to the hold music then it’s the fact the Q is too full and DWP are cutting you off so you just have to keep trying to get in it. It’s so frustrating!! Good luck

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 09:25

@Mammalee5 I'm 2/8 and there's been a few early August so should hear soon

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 09:26

@Jude82 thx for the rip Hun. X

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 09:27

crazytimes20 · 20/11/2023 09:27

Mammalee5 · 20/11/2023 09:27

@Tammie23 Oh hopefully. Driving me crazy waiting

Jude82 · 20/11/2023 09:28

Krys83 · 20/11/2023 09:28

Jaffacakesrlife · 20/11/2023 09:29

@Tammie23@Kelseeyx . I think both of you are around my scan date 2/8 I called Friday got a rude women who kept saying the automated messages state its taking 15 weeks. I said its been over 15, she said well only just. wouldn't tell me anything it expect its taking longer as there is a back log.
I will try call again today xx

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 09:29

Does anyone know if I can add a referral to his form over the phone?

TheRBC · 20/11/2023 09:30

I bit the bullet and called this morning…

Scan date 25/07
Second text 23/10

Got through to a lovely woman who apologised for the delay, that there has been an influx of claims over the last 8 months and that they’re looking to rectify the letters they send out stating a 15 week wait.

My claim still isn’t with a DM. Have been told to call back after 2 weeks if I have still not heard anything.

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/11/2023 09:30

Finally on hold after being cut off loads of times 🙄 scan date 19/7

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 09:31

@Jaffacakesrlife if you try today I'll try Wednesday there are quite a few awards from early August so should be very vert soon xxx

Mumzieof1 · 20/11/2023 09:31

Clairexdx · 20/11/2023 09:06

I’m calling. 18 weeks 3 days. Scan date 14/7. Last text 9/10. So tired of the waiting now x

Good luck! Let me know how you get on, we're same scan date and both been with dm since last wed. X

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 09:33

@Mammalee5 it's same here it's like it's taking over my life haha like others have said multiple times it's the long waiting times and if it's a decline it's absolutely awfull we have to do our best for our children it's not like we are doing this for the fun of it xxx

Tammie23 · 20/11/2023 09:37

@Helentwinsplus1 aww no as if they have bounced 2 back that's awfull my son has weak leg muscles plus other things and we have to carry him up and down the stairs he has a wee bottle for bed times as I've just had a hysterectomy so can't carry him all the time up during the night doing massages on his legs school have referred him for an ehcp he's under community health paediatrics and physio but they come to our home every week they are fantastic he's had 3 block sessions so far had physio when he was 6 he's now 12 so dealt with this a very long time now they are weaning him to once every 2 weeks then to manage symptoms at home there is nothing anyone can do for him unfortunately

Helentwinsplus1 · 20/11/2023 09:39

I'm on hold finally, took a few attempts. I've not rang since Thursday but I'm not hopeful. Last week it wasn't even with a DM let alone anywhere near a decision.

Mumofasdadhd · 20/11/2023 07:30

Can someone help? …. One of my children are already getting DLA. I am on universal credit. I dont get carers element due to being on limited capability.
Is carers allowance a waste of time? Someone told me they pay it but deduct from the universal credit so its pointless?
If anyone can shed some light i would be grateful.
also waiting scan date 24/7

Some people who receive UC like the fact that they can get carers allowance paid to them weekly. So it can help them budget a bit more. Carers allowance also puts in an amount towards your state pension.

Other than that, there isn’t really any reason to claim it if you already get UC as it’s deducted pound for pound. So it’s no additional money, it’s just money given to you in a different way if that makes sense! You can still claim the disabled child element on UC so that’s a little something on top of what you already get
