Hi does anyone know exactly how long it’s roughly taking for a decision I no I’m miles away from one as I only sent the form back to them monday for my second child I already receive dla for one of my children due to breathing that was a claim made in march and got awarded in July so roughly about 16-17 weeks waiting is this roughly the same time scales 😂? Also does anyone think this sounds good from the school it’s only been done by the nursery manager not been done by SENCO although he is on SEND register at school I have sent peaditriton letters from 2 different paediatricians with both same feelings and concerns (possible ASD) along with my claim it’s for my nearly 3 year old he can’t communicate awaiting social communication pathway at age 3 for asd diagnosis and awaiting speech and language appointment as he failed for everything communication wise he is currently 32 months old working at age 1 year old so he is almost 2 years delayed in a lot of aspects doesn’t interact with anyone physically violent doesn’t like loud noises screams all the time bites hits throws objects smashes tv’s throwing things hand flaps and covers ears very sensory excetra I’m just wondering if i should also get a letter from HV to go along with all these reports as. I feel school didn’t really go into to much detail he needs constant supervision both day and night as he has no danger awareness and attacks his younger brother and older sister does not sleep at night if he does I’m lucky if it’s for an hour or 2 then he is awake for the rest of the night and day , does this seem like I would possibly get it as I’m just worried due to his age with him being 2 almost 3 , he is 3 in march so by the time it does get looked at he will probably of turned 3 and would of been excepted on social communication pathway do you think all of this is enough information as I don’t have nothing else evidence wise or would a letter from HV help as well ? Thanks In advance the stress is unreal and the wait is horrible as I already went thru this with my other little one not long ago but the extra money would help out massively as I’m currently paying for Nursey to try and better his interaction and speech and will also help out with travel and other expenses.

Emma don’t give up hope I have a 3 year old autistic boy he is also in a wheelchair now due to hyper mobility he was diagnosed at 2 months before his 3rd birthday he hates sounds he hand flaps he is none verbal he has one to one care at nursery and we just got his ehcp he has massive meltdowns and it’s horrible to see he doesn’t eat food he pulls his nappy off and smells his pooh which I’ve been told it’s the sensory problems it’s heart breaking I felt just like u and my boy now getting the right help my world fell apart last week when his plan come through he needs all one to one he won’t go to a mainstream school😩if u want to talk am here for u but I would 100% say ur little one will get what they should my lad got hrc but wouldn’t give him mobility he coming up for a renewal soon am currently fighting for my 12 year old now but can’t see is getting any help xx

Sskanf · 22/11/2023 14:37

@Emma2345 with my son I put him in nursery at 2.5 years of age and was funding this myself to help him mix in however they couldbt manage him they said as he lacked language and communication they couldbt understand him so he wouod headbutt the floor and windows. So they started making me attend nursery I then had a baby so was unable to they then put him on a reduced timetable saying he can only attend a few hours as they can't keep him and other children safe I went to the council and fought for his 15 hours they then gave him 1-1 SEN support.
It's tough and I understand jow tough it must ne for you I do feel you'll get awarded though as ur child needs constant supervision like mine. I really emphasised that in my forms I can't let him go to another room alone flr even 2 minutes as he will climb draws etc. He has to come into the bathroom with me also I can't be away from him never had anyone baby sit him as he needs more care thsn my 1 year old
It's nice to talk to someone who know what it mist be like with a similar child.
I feel you have a strong case honestly hold in there hope u hear back soon

Emma2345 · 22/11/2023 14:42

@Purple69 Thankyou so much he hasn’t had a diagnosis as of yet but I’m hoping both paediatrician letters and the school writing something will help for them make a decision on this I just feel like so many people getting rejected and it’s already stressful enough looking after a sen child I honestly can’t believe they didn’t award mobility when he is in a wheelchair it’s disgusting we have to fight for what our children are entitled too, I hope your daughter gets what use need & are entitled tooo the wait is horrible I only sent mine off on Monday so I no I’ve got a long road a head before I hear anything, x

Emma2345 · 22/11/2023 14:46

@Sskanf Thankyou yeah my 2 year old is the exact same he attacks me and his siblings and it’s hard because my 1 year old doesn’t understand my 4 year old says doesn’t he love me because he is always hurting me it’s hard explaining all of this and to watch all 3 of them go thru it it’s horrible I have to give him constant care and supervision because he is a danger to himself and others so I no the feeling it is so nice to no theirs someone experiencing the same things and we can talk about it I will be doing that if it gets to the point nursery say they can’t cope and try to reduce his hours excetra x

Hun my boy was not when I applied and he sounds just like my boy honestly you will be ok I had a women call him a rude little boy cause he was hand flapping on her hand bag and she said hello to him cause he didn’t respond that’s what she said I walked home crying he is none verbal he didn’t stay walking until he turned 3 and didn’t sit up or crawl until 2 he doesn’t give eye contact he looks side on honestly I take my hat off to anyone with a baby/ child with autism is a very difficult life there hard work but don’t give up xxx

MammyAng84 · 22/11/2023 14:57

@Emma2345 @Purple69 it's is nice to share wity others going through similar.
Wish people were more educated on children like that, I can imagine how upsetting it must've been for you when the lady called him rude @Purple69 I've had to hear many things too.i took my son drs few weeks back with a temp on 40 due to sensory needs he was started crying when the dr tried doing obs and she turned around said I think ur son has mental problems! She was so insensitive I've now put in a complaint

roki · 22/11/2023 10:24

@Mrsstephens04 am thinking from next week they will start processing week starting of 20th july, because at the moment we are seeing alot of up to 19th july, am 25th july. am not expecting a reply before december.

@roki it's crazy how they are so many weeks ahead before completing the previous week, you'd think they would be allocated a few at a time and make sure all DM/CMs have gotten through each pile before handing out new piles, hoping to hear abit more by the end of next week

am curious with this one now as it’s for my 12 year old this time I had no evidence when I applied but he was seen by Chams last mo day and there saying they think he adhd and I have to wait now to see the adhd doctor he is currently at home been kicked out of school for 2 weeks as he walked into a classroom with a toy gun and told the class to put there hands up this really upset as everyone looking at me bad he has behaviour support and they did a letter when we applied he only has bladder condition which that is diagnosed but I don’t think we will get anywhere as didn’t have much to put in apart from all his impulsive behaviour he smashes everything up swear runs in roads the amount of people we had at door saying they could of killed him😩we now had to keep him in to keep him safe but he can’t understand that it’s so hard sometimes I feel like a massive failure like I pissed someone off in my last life to struggle so much now xx

roki · 22/11/2023 16:31

@Sskanf 😯 what? why would a doctor said that. shocking, peoples dont even use that term anymore. like mental retardation, my son under assesment for austism, he hate bein touched, doctors, barbers, nothing i will go mad if someone say that to me.

Ilovemychildren123 · 22/11/2023 16:32

@Linacre96 thank you x

Mumzieof1 · 22/11/2023 16:33

Scan date 17/07, 1 week now with DM it's definitely a decline! I'm thinking not enough evidence and the fact I asked them not to contact school, only for the reason I work there and was honest about that.

Sskanf · 22/11/2023 16:35

@roki she refused to believe my son was ill said I don't need to do his obs and made me take hik out the room and spoke to my partner and said I don't think his unwel he just has mental problems I was fuming and so upset didn't want to create a scene. So I.put in a complaint still waiting to hear back

Mammalee5 · 22/11/2023 16:38

@Emma2345 @Purple69 i have 2 with adhd and 2 children with autism. All stim and flap. I've had the comments "it's parenting, doesn't exist, rude kids" now, when my children start flapping and they get the looks from uneducated people, i start flapping. I start making the bird noises. It draws the attention away from my children, shows them that it's ok. And i bloody dare any of the people staring to say something to me. One thing raising children with autism and adhd has taught me, is how incredible their minds are. They don't waste effort on the social queues and instead hyper focus on learnings amazing things. Keep your head up hun, you're raising a wonderful little genius.
