Finally got through and it's a decline. Gutted

roki · 21/11/2023 10:02

@TheRBC i think is a coïncidence this pattern of 5 weeks, the whole system is a mess, how come people from june still waiting and peoples from August already been answered?? 🤔, so sad to wait thant long then u get declined, it better they answer quickly ans peoples get on with their lives.

roki · 21/11/2023 10:03

@4girlsnahubby so sorry , so defleating, how long have u been waiting?

roki · 21/11/2023 10:05

just a question? has anyone been awarded with a child having nystagmus?

4girlsnahubby · 21/11/2023 10:07

@roki since 17/07

AgaLaura2Olivia · 21/11/2023 10:29

Hi. Scan date 18/7, still nothing. Tried to call 6 times disconnected

Mdavies2023 · 21/11/2023 10:31

Omg I can't believe it I just got a text saying my daughter qualifies, just on phone to try get the rates. Scan date 20/07

Cdanielle29 · 21/11/2023 10:32

@4girlsnahubby So sorry. Fight for what you deserve, don't give up x

TheRBC · 21/11/2023 09:46

@roki @crazytimes20
i have the same scan date as you both and I called yesterday. I was told it wasn’t with a DM as of yet and she gave 2 weeks wait as an estimated timescale and to try calling back again then if I still hadn’t heard anything.

my last text was 23/10 so I am hoping that (if accepted) it follows the pattern of 5 weeks since last text and we’re awarded next week 🤞🏼

I am the same as you lot too. I called last weds and was told I should have an answer at 17.5 weeks which I am doubting. Was thinking of calling Friday but don’t think we will have an answer until at least the end of next week.
Congratulations to all the awards this morning and good luck to all that’s waiting still xx

Mdavies2023 · 21/11/2023 10:46

Anyone else not even getting through on phone

crazytimes20 · 21/11/2023 11:01

@Shilli84 I agree. I can't see it being till middle to end of next week. I'd of thought sooner but I've not seen many near to our date yet. I've not rang at all! I was going to ring but then I saw they were still awarding/declining 14-17 so didn't see the point. They'll only tell me to call back after 18 wks. I'll maybe ring Friday but will see. I just wish they would tell everyone the same.

Ilovemychildren123 · 21/11/2023 11:08

MangoPepsiLover · 21/11/2023 11:25

I can't get through again, tried 6 times today already, thankfully not on calls for work today so I can have it on next to me, but I get through the automatic system and it cuts me off after it 🙄

Ames52 · 21/11/2023 11:32

Has anyone had a decision from a scan date of 03/08 yet?

Mummyof5kiddos · 21/11/2023 11:38

@MangoPepsiLover ive got a spare hour so just got on hold now after many failed attempts, hoping they have a decision and aren’t to long to answer 🤞

Stressedsoph1 · 21/11/2023 11:40

Thanks - I'm on hold to them now (35 mins so far) so I'm guessing I'll get told the same thing. Good luck to you too xx

@JustAboutRM If you are awarded DLA you can claim more elements of UC. If you get any rate of care that is… Lower, Middle or High you can ask to claim Disability child element on your UC, it is about £145 a month. You also have to ask for it be awarded from the date you made the claim ( day you requested the forms not scan date ). Also if you are awarded Middle or Higher rate care you can ask to claim the carers element aswell on UC, this is about £185 a month. Again ask for it to be backdated to the date you started the claim. You will have to explain why you are only reporting it now and not in the month it was awarded so you just have to say it’s taken this long for an award from DWP.

here’s how to do it

'My child has been awarded (rates) from (dates) & I'd like to request the child disability element gets added on & backdated. Reasons for late reporting are because da have just made the decision, thank
you'
